I have seen this trend in the composer fandom where characters like Mozart are depicted as walking flamingos with 50 different shades of pink on his shoelaces alone whereas Salieri wears like. black. which is horrible slander actually, because if you look at actual records of Salieri’s fashion from his time omt(able tennis)g it was ATR0CIOUS. Like i remember once he was described as wearing brown and navy blue or something and yellow ALL TOGETHER just in one big ugly-ash fit. Cannot u see? this man breathed color and whimsy like air. but instead everyone tried to make him the personification of salt and pepper wth is that about?

Now ofc i understand that Salieri was indeed a literal chimpanzee in MLOR and dresses like remnants of Pompeii in FGO and was equally visually homogenous to the night sky in many other adaptations of himself and potentially with Mozart. but trust me, this guy’s italian, okay. just because he looks like one boiled little potato in his basically one and only portrait doesn’t mean he’s chained to that gold watch and big black coat for his whole entire laife. we all should give the old man another chance to shine. like put him in a Marie Antoinette wig for god’s sake that’d be kind of historically accurate too. let grandpapa have some fun.
