Addy smiled and nodded at Felix’s suggestion, “Yeah, I’d really like that,” she replied. “What do you want to do for your lunch break?”
“You would?” he smiled for a brief second. “I usually apparate home and take Ouba for a walk if you’d like to join. I think she misses seeing you around.”

danny: STOP. PLEASE TELL ME YOU TOOK A PHOTO BECAUSE THAT VISUAL ALONE HAS STOPPED ME IN MY TRACKS.
danny: she really has no right to be as cute as she is, it's definitely for evil and selfish purposes.
danny: you're right, and i value my life, clothes and paintings. i don't want her to sabotage me in any way.
danny: maybe it's because i'm trying to do a more thorough scrub to get the paint off, i don't think we're on the level of pampering right now.
danny: anything you want, darling
felix: of course i did.

felix: it really has its downsides, we're whipped by a dog.
felix: double cross her and she will start a reign of terror, something i have learnt the difficult way.
felix: well i guess that means i will be doing that for her when i get home from work.

danny: well you're not exactly one to leave them lying around and she's not exactly big enough to reach them once they're hung up in the wardrobe. maybe she's still plotting.
danny: i'm planning on getting rid of it as soon as i get the paint off of ouba. i felt like she was probably a higher priority.
danny: she's not really a fan of being in the bath tub though, is she?
danny: i'll see the best way to go about puppy painting and me and her will spend time having a session soon.
felix: she can definitely jump into the chest of drawers. i've found her napping in there curled up in one of my hoodies before. it was adorable.
felix: she's always the highest priority. she'd be very pissed off with you if you treated her as anything else.
felix: ouba's not terrible in the bathtub. especially if it means we have to pamper her when she gets out.

Being headbutted by a rowdy Mooncalf would not be as bad if Nick hadn’t have to be at the Ministry first thing in the morning. When he woke up and saw a huge bruise on his face, he didn’t have the time to take care of it. He decided to grab a coffee on his way to work, hoping he would not meet anyone he knew, but of course he was not lucky enough. He was munching on his blueberry muffin when he heard his name. He quickly raised hand to cover his face and smiled awkwardly. “What’s up? I’m all good, very busy, totally in a hurry, so maybe we could catch up later?” He rambled.
“Nick?” Felix called out as he saw the other enter. He unfortunately had a case to work with the other. “In a hurry? Where? We’ve got work,” Felix questioned before clocking on that he’d been covering his face the whole time. “What’s going on with you? You’re acting even weirder than usual and I didn’t think that would be possible to beat.”

Elias was a bit concerned about his brother coming back to work, but he was also pleased that he finally left his flat. “Hey kid, I wanted to check on you,” he replied, eyeing the paperwork the other was surrounded with. “Was no one covering you? There should be enough aurors to help out,’ he muttered.
“Oh Elias, hi,” Felix replied upon realising the other person wasn’t there to get mad at him. “I’m– well, you know,” he sighed, dropping his shoulders. “No. We’re ran off our feet today so I’m just kind of dealing with everything as it comes flying at me,” Felix told him. “I can take my lunch break shortly though if you wanted to talk while I’m not caught up in all of this.”

Addy held up a small container of cookies for Felix, showing up at his office. “Hey, I figured you might want some more cookies, get you through your first weeks back.”
Felix had had a tough day, the stares from people who were aware of his secret piling on top of all the work he had to catch up on were proving to be tough. But he instantly lit up upon seeing Addy’s face at his office. “Addy–... that’s too kind. Thank you,” he smiled as he took the box from her. “I can take my lunch break now if you wanted to stay around for a bit?” he suggested.

“It’s important to me that you both know that. You and Ouba. My flat is always going to have an open door for the two of you as a safe space,” Dominique much like she was making him a promise. After recent developments and just everything the two had gone through, Dom was always going to be there for them no matter what. Those things only solidified that friendship. “A little crown emoji? That’s perfect,” she couldn’t help but laugh as it fit the small dog a little too well. “I’m okay,” Dom nodded, admittedly not having much excitement in her life but that was fine her. “With the holidays over the bookstore has less foot traffic, but I’m sure it’ll pick up when the bibliophiles come looking for Valentine’s Day gifts for one another,” she added with a smile. Despite her seemingly cynical exterior, there was a romantic deep down on the inside. “But you know I like the quiet. Gives me plenty of time to use work hours to read and pass the time that way.”
“Thank you,” Felix smiled genuinely at her. “I do know that. And our place is for you too, if you ever need it.” He really appreciated Dom more now having gone through it, her calming presence in his life and ability to tolerate his moods. “It’s pretty great, huh?” he chuckled. “I’m honestly quite tempted to buy her her own phone– not that she can even read the messages, but it feels like an accessory she’d enjoy.” It certainly went with her bougie personality. “Yes, I’m sure it will pick up,” he smiled. “Does that annoy you? Having to recommend books to people who have no idea what their partners like in a novel?” he asked. “It must be nice not having to live in chaos. I do sometimes think about quitting to have a slower paced life working in a place like this,” he commented.

danny: maybe she doesn't want you to but hasn't figured out how to fix your wardrobe yet. i happen to like your hoodie and jeans.
danny: felix. i'm an artist. this is not the first time i've gotten paint somewhere it shouldn't be, i promise.
danny: i knew you would.
danny: just very cute, right? I might see if she wants to do a little canvas of her own before I go and clean her up.
felix: i feel like it's not hard. she could just chew on them to force me to get new clothes. i do too
felix: okay. but we will need to get rid of it well in advance of us moving out of this place to leave time for a professional to help.
felix: oh merlin please, that would be adorable. if we have to get rid of it on the floor then i won't feel as bad if we've still got a painting of it.

danny: but she knows about style and what looks good, so i feel like this was her interior designer input.
danny: it's water based acrylic, it's fine. it's not like it was oil based.
danny: you totally want to see the teeny tiny rainbow paw prints, don't you?

felix: if she knew about style then she wouldn't have let me wear jeans and hoodies every day of my life.

danny: okay. well. you might want to tell ouba this because she seemed to think differently.
danny: also painting on the floor does not equal not taking care of the place, i hope you know.
danny: also it was your dog who decided to use my pallet to rest her tiny paws and then go strutting all over the place.
danny: they're very cute paw prints at least.
felix: she's a dog. she has no concept of getting a deposit back.
felix: it does when paint seeps between the floor boards and permanently stains them.

“I can assure you that your baby is in safe hands whenever she comes to mine,” she spoke softly with a smile, hoping to ease his mind about Ouba and her whereabouts as best as she could. “Yeah of course. It takes me no more than two seconds to do that, so it’s so fine honestly,” Dom insisted. “I get that. It’s one of the reasons why I never understood how people can have their own cats they let wander outside… I’d be so paranoid they’ll get run over or something,” she admitted. “She is smart though, like you said. I think she has her ways of getting around safely. She probably has the towns mapped out on the back of her little doggy paw,” Dom added with a laugh.
“I never suspected for a moment that she wouldn’t be. I know she’s well looked after around you,” he smiled, glad that Ouba felt like she could go and see Dom when she wanted. Felix felt bad for the dog being cooped up at home a lot, but now that he was starting to get back on his feet again, he knew she’s feel a little better. “Okay. It can even be an emoji or something. Maybe the little crown emoji,” he suggested with a small laugh. “They’re smart beings, but people are also idiots,” Felix replied, that statement being truer than ever knowing what he knew now. “I like the idea of that, actually.” It was calming, really. Knowing that Ouba knew where she was. She always ended up back at their home anyway. “How are you? I feel bad for not checking in as much recently.”

danny: so i know you had mixed feelings about our wall in the living room being painted all different colours. but how would you feel about some splashes of colour on our floor too.
danny: not that i think you have much choice atm, but how would that make you feel.
felix: on the floor?!?!?! absolutely not.
felix: you better not be painting the floor as we speak.
felix: we've got to take care of that place and it's a lot harder to paint over the floor than it is to paint over the walls, danny.
“Look, it’s my first day back at work in a long time so I’m just going to need you to be a little more patient with me, okay?” Felix huffed as he tried to shuffle through his paperwork to find a file he needed. He hadn’t taken this decision lightly, but now that he was back and feeling very overwhelmed with everyone and the stares from others, he was feeling a little regret. “Right,” he sighed as he took a look at the person standing in front of him. “What do you want?”

“Yeah she comes by my work a lot actually,” Dominique replied, still admittedly in shock at her recent revelation but glad that Ouba trusted her enough with such a secret. “No, I don’t think you need to start tracking her like a rogue teenage daughter or anything,” she added with a laugh. “But if you need me to shoot you a text or a call when she’s with me, I can do that. I think she just needed to get out from the apartment after being cooped in there for so long, you know?”
“She does? That’s a relief,” Felix said, exhaling a puff of air. His levels of trust had plummeted since the secret reveal, and he was scared for his dog to be taken by someone else. “It kind of feels like she’s my baby, though. Can’t feed herself and needs constant attention,” he chuckled. “I’d appreciate that, thanks Dom,” Felix smiled at his best friend. He nodded, “Yeah, I know. I just don’t like the idea that she’s roaming the streets by herself. But she’s a smart pup... so I’ll let her since she’s been so good to me recently.”
“Hey– sorry for being a bit all over the place,” Felix apologised. “I’m just a little overwhelmed with everything I’ve got to do now that I’m back,” he confessed. The past few months while being awfully heart wrenching for him were a break he didn’t know he needed, but now he was back full throttle trying to resume his normal job. “Do you have time to help me?”

“I’ve been back to work for two days and Ouba hasn’t been home when I got back both times,” Felix began to tell his best friend. “Is she wandering over here by herself or do I need to put one of those tracking collars on her or something? I can’t see where else she’d go as she hates everyone else.”

“Right, right,” Evelyn replied. “I think I’m manifesting you being back,” she joked. “It’s weird without you around.” She smiled at him lightly. “I’m glad you’re here though. I missed you around.”
“Are you now?” he asked with a brief chuckle. “I know. It’s odd not seeing you all every day,” Felix shrugged. He just wasn’t ready to face going back to work yet. “You can pop round after work, you know. Whenever you want, really.”
