Kennedy blushed a little and dug her face into his shoulder. “There’s people here.”
“And they should know just how talented you are!” he insisted, letting out a soft giggle as she burrowed herself into his shoulder. “You can even choose a different song if you’d like.”

“Sweet,” a tight lipped smile found its way onto his face as he made his way towards the food station. “I’m not a big fan of s’mores, to be honest. Tastes like diabetes. But you do you, Felix.” He then added, in a cartoonish sounding voice, “As long as you’re eating your veggies, I’m satisfied.”
“Things that taste like diabetes make me feel alive,” he joked with a wiggle of his eyebrows as he grabbed some more graham crackers. “There has to be something cavity-inducing that you can’t help yourself with, isn’t there? Everyone has a bit of a sweet tooth no matter how hidden.”

“Didn’t the forecast say it was going to rain all weekend? I’m not complaining, I’m just shocked is all.”

“Oh, it’s going to be!” She laughed, “Especially the way I paint. There’s more paint on my friends than the canvas by the time I’m done honestly. Are you into art? You should totally join us if you’re not busy.”
“Sounds like it gets out of hand real quick,” Felix teased with a gentle chuckle. “I’m more musically than manually talented at art, but I guess there’s no shame in giving it a try? Maybe it’s my calling and I just don’t know it yet.”

“Ha, nope. I took some classes and had a regular boring year.” Keegan shook his head, “I’m happy to be back to. You guys are my real family, but shh,” He laughed, “Don’t tell my mom. She’d be crushed.” He smiled broadly before pointing towards the bonfire, “This thing’s huge, right? Way bigger than last year.”
“I won’t tell if you promise not to tell my parents I prefer being here too,” Felix replied back in a hushed voice before bursting out into a playful chuckle. “Definitely! It’s like they try to top themselves every year -- and do a great job at it. I have to hand it to them.”
ardensmacdonald:
“PROBABLY.” Arden shouted, looking behind her at Felix. That was probably a mistake, as the bike veered off of the path and toppled over, Arden still on it. She let herself wallow in pain and pity for a minute before detangling herself from the various parts of the bike and standing up. “I cut the brakes so I could steal it, I haven’t been able to ride a bike in a while and it was tied up all weird.”
“Holy moly, Arden!” Felix exclaimed as he jogged after her, his pace turning into a sprint as she crashed. “I honestly can’t believe you’re still in one piece. Why were you stealing a bike when you haven’t ridden one in a while? Doesn’t sound safe at all to me.”

“It’s cute when it happens once or twice, but it’s every day with this kid and…I mean she’s fourteen.” Sky said, leaning back in their chair. “I just want to relax when I’m not in my session. And of course I’m proud, we did Bob Ross painting today and hers was the closest to Bob’s.
“I guess I’m kind of immune to this stuff because of my little sister. I just think it’s so precious how they seem to light up at any sign of approval from people they look up to,” he smiled fondly. “Now that’s talent. Would you say she’s the next Bob Ross?”
“It’s super sunny out today,” Felix grinned, slipping on a pair of shades. “What a nice surprise.”

“Yeah, that looks great.” Sky said to one of their campers who showed them one of their paintings. “Really unique!” They smiled at the camper, wishing they’d walk away. Eventually they did after telling Skylar alllllll about how they used a certain brush to do one thing. Sky turned to the person next to them. “You know, I love my job, but sometimes the younger campers can go on and on for sooo long.”
“Aw c’mon, Sky. It’s cute. They want you to be proud,” he chimed in, chuckling softly. The younger campers always reminded him on his sister. This was the first year she hadn’t been there in forever because of her recent hospitalization. “And you know that you secretly are. Proud I mean.”
ardensmacdonald:
“WATCHOUTIDONTTHINKICANSTOP” Arden shouted at the top of her lungs, clinging to the handlebars of the bike as it kept flying down the hill.
“Arden!” he shouted in surprise, jumped to the side in the last moment, missing the collision with Arden and her bike by a mere hair. “Shouldn’t you have breaks on that thing?”

“I’m not ashamed to say I’m skipping Shading class to go to paint ballooning.” West laughed, “It just seems like so much more fun.”
“Paint ballooning? Now that sounds really fun.”

“You’re a doctor now, Felix?” Wes chuckled, nodding as he slowly rose from his seat, “But alright, I’m feeling like toasting some bread anyway. You coming?”
“Definitely not,” he chuckled, getting up at Wesley’s offer to join him. “Heck yes! Although I’m going to get me some s’mores.”

Kennedy sang softly along to Felix’s playing, tapping her fingers on her knee to the beat. She smiled at him, not raising her voice to much, a bit scared.
As he reached an instrumental part of the song, he peeked over at Kennedy, “Hey don’t be shy now. I know you know the words.”

“No, you brought this on yourself.” He laughed. “How have you been Felix?” Keegan loved the start of camp, loved seeing new faces and old, loved hearing about what they’d done while they’d been gone.
“I’ve been alright. It’s always good to go home and see my family,” he admitted with a smile. “One of my closest friends back at home had a motocross competition which was pretty fun to be able to see, but I’m glad to be back at Camp,” Felix replied. “How about you, Keegs? Go anywhere for the break?”
wesleyclemons:
“Nah,” he coughed, “all I’m doing is babysit you guys, even I could do that.” Wes tilted his head to the side, chuckling softly as he noticed the frown on his face. “I appreciate the concern, Felix, but I’m good. A little teary from the smoke, though.”
“Whatever you say, bud. I still think you’re awesome whether you want to hear it from me or not,” he grinned, nudging Wes in the arm softly. “You might not want to sit too close to the fire though if it’s getting you teary.”

“Who doesn’t, though?”
“I guess I can’t really argue with you there.”

“Whatever you want Fel,” she replied. “Take your pick.” She gave a soft smile his way, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Felix smiled as she leaned her head on his shoulder, starting off the chords to a song they wrote together last summer. He knew she’d recognize it and sing along.
