Augus ran over to help as he grabbed Felix’s mandibles and put all of his weight on them. He didn’t care that his teeth cut his hands as they both snapped backwards and he could feel Felix scream and struggle from beneath the water.

Felix was already in pain as it felt like someone had bent a finger all the way back when Crassus snatched him by the spur. then… then he felt his mandibles bending backwards then breaking. The pain was more than he could have imagined as he struggled against it the water filling his lungs. It burned as his body starved for air.

He held Felix beneath the water with all his waning strength as he struggled and fought against both them. But Crassus wasn’t letting go and he knew Augus wouldn’t. One way or the other, Felix wasn’t leaving this room again and they’d make sure of it.

With all the struggling he felt something he hadn’t expected, Felix’s mandibles ripped off his body as the water turned blue with blood. He did the next thing he could and drove his thumbs through Felix’s eyes. he refused to loose his grip on him, he refused to let him leave alive.

Grim shrieked sucking in more water, he struggled for life, struggled against them both as everything went painfully black. Slowly he was left with just his thoughts and then nothing as his body quit fighting, quit twitching, there wasn’t anything left..

Augus stood coughing and wheezing, he’d taken in a lot of water. He stumbled to get his footing and then saw Crassus fighting with Felix.

Grim was taller and actually a little bit stronger than Crassus, but that didn’t stop gravity or Felix from loosing his footing as he went into the water.

Crassus followed him down, intending to keep him that way. If he could just keep Felix off balance and under the water… It was only fair considering what the man had tried to do to him.

Augus stuck and clawed at Grims arms. He couldn’t break free of his vice like grip. He knew he was running out of air as Grim held him there. Grim’s hand were suddenly off of him. and he sat up gasping for air.

Crassus had knocked him from atop of Aug, Grim slid back but charged Crassus throwing a powerful spinning jump kick at his head.

He was pissed, scared and cold, but not stupid. Fighting was instinctual for Crassus. He dunked the kick, grabbing Felix’s leg and winding his hand around the bastard’s calf-spur, pulling to get him off his back foot and into the water.

Augus cursed under his breath seeing Crassus go back under. He held his chest which hurt something awful. Moving towards Crassus while Felix worked the blade out he righted the chair again and got the first restraint free.

Felix Tackled Augus before he could get more than Crass’s hand free. He shoved the table forcing Crass back under water as he pinned Aug to the floor holding him beneath the water.

Another breath, his vision black at the edges but Crassus clearly saw Augus’ face this time and understood he was really there when one of his hands was freed. The water came up to get him again but this time it didn’t hold him. He got his other hand loose, bending up to work his feet free and then he was up and barreling toward Felix to get him off Augus.

Felix roared as he kicked Aug in the back sending him across the room. He growled in anger and pain as he slowly worked the broken blade out of his shoulder.

Crassus sucked in another breath, expecting more water but getting air. He coughed, blinking, seeing- “Augus?” He croaked, utterly surprised but then his mate was ripped away and the water was pulling him down again. Maybe he’d hallucinated seeing him, he’d been close enough to death a few times to know that could happen, but it didn’t stop Crassus from struggling wildly again.

Augus jumped into the room through the gaping hole where the observation room once stood. There was no hesitation as he charged towards Felix.

Felix flipped the table seeing Aug a grin on his face as Crass’s head went back underwater. “Looks like I get to kill you after all. well at least once your fleshly husband is dead. Guards will be here shortly.”

He didn’t know what happened. Suddenly the water was all around him again and Crassus couldn’t breathe. Panic made him try and the water filled his lungs. His heart pounded and he could hear his blood pumping in his ears but all he was truly aware of was the fact that he was drowning.

Grim pulled a pin, placing his hand on Crass’s chest he push on it. the angle of changed and Crass’s head was underwater.

He knew what Felix was going to do the second he touched him. “NO!” But it did him no good, water filling his mouth and rushing down his windpipe as he screamed the word and thrashed in the chair to no affect.

Augus took a few moments to hotwire the bike, a relatively easy task even if he found himself somewhat out of practice. The Hover bike roared to life as he climbed on and took off in the direction the vehicles had fled. The bike was fast and he had forgotten how scary fast they could be as he zoomed down the long straight away. They had what maybe a ten minute head start? If that. He could catch them on this… The road continued no turns no cross streets, just further and further into the jungle. He continued on this path, not sure how much time had passed but it felt like an eternity. Then he came to a clearing and could see for miles, no sign of them… had he missed them? Was there a path he missed or… had they escaped… spirits please don’t let them take him from me… He turned the bike around and sped back into the forest. Flying at full speeds he almost didn’t notice the path hidden away by the way the landscape was cut. He flipped the bike around and slowed, it was something he’d missed the first time and now was his only hope. He sped up the winding twisting road slowing as he approached a gated facility.

A Guard came towards him hollering something about needing to turn back. Aug marched right towards him, on a determined path he flicked out the blade of his pocket knife. The Guard raised his shotgun but by then it was too late. Aug was atop of him and repeatedly stabbing him in the throat. Another guard came running out the gate opening as he came to rescue his comrade. Augus ripped the combat knife dead guards gear and hurled it with precision into the incoming mans chest.

There was a fire in Aug’s eyes as he stood and walked towards the entrance of the facility. His blood soaked pocket knife being the only thing in hand as he stopped at the guard wheezing for life and took his ID card. Soundlessly he began to move through the facility dispatching every man he came across. Silence was key, there was no picking up another man’s gun, just him and his knife.

In all honesty he’d lost count after the thirtieth man he killed, they seemed endless. Until he reached an observation room, Crassus was bound to a chair and… there he was… the man who’d… spirits… not again! NOT AGAIN! He heard every word as he found a chair and began to futilely began to beat it against the one way glass. They couldn’t hear him inside… The doors were locked. Aug couldn’t describe the murderous rage that filled him as Grim climbed into Crass’s lap. He walked away back towards the armory he’d pasted earlier. There was no thought as a technician bumped into him in the hall, Aug snapped his neck like a twig and continued towards his objective. Aug used the key card to gain access to the armory. No explosives… He grabbed a rocket launcher and walked back to the hallway of the observation room. He heard Grim’s threats and there wasn’t any hesitation as he fired the rocket towards the wall.

The explosion was massive as he then charged down the hall racing to save the one he loved.

The explosion knocked grim from his feet and into the water. He grabbed the chair turned table to lift himself up. It forced him to push on Crass’s feet standing him upright again and able to breath.

His chest fell up and down rapidly, his eyes wide, but it was the water and not what the bastard what going to do to him. He’d bleed out, he knew that, but the water…

“Get your fucking hand off me.” He snarled, tones and subvocals filed with a whole host of threats and warnings. He’d cut Felix into pieces too, given half the chance. He’d use his fucking talons if he had to. It would take time but it was no less than what the bastard deserved.

He snarled, only managing to bite his tongue, his bared teeth showing blood as Felix- He bucked, trying to get out from under that hand, the water sloshing. “Don’t touch me!”

How sad for the replacement to know he’s going to die with no one around who cares about him, the replacement is just glum he’s gonna be alone forever.” Grim walked to him and sat in his lap. “I suppose I could always have some real fun with you before you go.”

“Oh yes I know what you did. I had planned on getting you sent to prison for it, but this… this is just so much more fun. wouldn’t you say?” He asked gleefully. “Why so eager to die? it’s not like you’re spirits are going to join in the after You are not his, you’re just the worldly replacement.”

Crassus growled at him, teeth still bared as he continued to struggle. Trying not to listen, trying not to believe the words. He hadn’t been a replacement. Surely the Spirits knew that, and even… even if Augus was supposed to be with the Spirit of his first mate and child… Crassus would wish nothing better than the way things were supposed to be. “Maybe I just don’t like the thought of sitting here with you waiting to drown.” He said with a cold, cruel dryness. “I really don’t think we’re bonding.”

Pitty… I think I’d have rather enjoyed watching you suffer and die in front of him.Oh well drowning you should be fun to watch.” He grinned as Crassus in the chair meant the water would only come up to Grims chest. The water still was barely on their feet.

He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. That Felix had arranged that too. Crassus showed a little of his own, well-hidden darkness. “I killed that bastard. I cut him into pieces.” He bared his teeth, struggling in the chair that was bolted down as the water climbed higher and higher. He was already shivering, teeth and mandibles clicking from more than just cold. “Why go through all the trouble? Just shoot me.”

Augus had made it to one of the shops near by. It was empty, undoubtedly the people heard the shots and ran. He treated his wound as best he could with the limited supplies available. Nothing in this place was quite a sutiable weapon… but they had security cameras…. He watched them finding the vehicles and direction they traveled. next thing would be to get… the hover bike out front caught his attention, it would do the job.

“That little runt was hardly worth all the trouble, but he made me look bad, let one of my experiments escape, only fair, I lost something important, he lost something. This time I decided to be preemptive.” He laughed something chilling as he pressed a button and the room began to fill ever so slowly with cold water.

“You killed his child!” Crassus snarled, surging forward in the chair, the bindings holding him firmly in place. He spat several more things, curses and names and generally things you didn’t call another turian if you held any ounce of respect for them. Crassus felt no respect for Felix, he hated him, more than he’d ever hated anyone for what he’d taken away from Augus. His child and his first mate. Every hateful thing he could think of left his mouth even as icy water started to swell around his feet. “And me? The hell did I do?”
