like we never saw them go away and we never saw him become uncorrupted

since there’s only like 2 fucking with him and you know Mune could probably remove them but he is one stubborn fucking bastard and will absolutely refuse any help that little uhhh adorable little shit would offer him cuz he would only see it as mune taking pity on him

     This statement takes Mune a bit off guard, as he didn’t think he’d be greeted with such hostility.  Was Leeyoon that upset, that he’d take it out on him?  Maybe he wasn’t right to assume that all of Leeyoon’s problems were over with now… even though life on their planet had only begun to thrive.  Besides, he was only trying to cheer him up somehow.  Yet, Mune knows he’s not that great with words and therefore might have said something he shouldn’t have.

     ❝ I-I don’t get it– did I say something wrong? ❞

Perhaps he was a bit harsh. None of this was his fault. If anything it was the moon’s fault. Though he really couldn’t blame the moon too much, as it’s the whole reason he still has any powers, and the only reason anyone has any dreams. 

“It was nothing you said or did Mune. You did nothing wrong.” Was he still going to share what was bothering him? No way.

     Ears dart back for a moment, as if he can feel the tone being directed at him in a way.  But Mune can’t fathom how exactly.     ❝ You know, it’s okay to be upset or angry sometimes— I can get like that, too. ❞

He just wanted to snap at Mune for that, but as much as he wanted to blame him for his misfortune, he knew that was a mistake. Everyone respected Leeyoon a long time ago, but nowadays even mentioning that he was trained to be a guardian before puts a bad tastes in people’s mouths. Mune’s the real guardian, get over yourself. Sure, get over an entire lifetime of training to become something someone who doesn’t know a thing about just snags right under you. Fine.

okay but isn’t it a little fucked up that Leeyoon got fucking kicked out of the job he was training for because “the moon felt otherwise” 

the movie didn’t want us to give leeyoon sympathy but HE LITERALLY WAS TOLD FOR YEARS HE WAS GONNA BE GUARDIAN BUT NOOOOPE IT WAS MUNE 

LIKE IMAGINE IF YOU WERE TOLD SINCE YOU WERE PROBABLY LITTLE THAT YOU WOULD GET YOUR DREAM JOB ONLY FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SAID JOB GETTING IT INSTEAD OF YOU

   the answer leeyoon gave wasn’t the one sohone was hoping for. he hoped he would be able to avoid having to talk about that experience all together, as it was one he’d much rather not recall. with a look to his best friend, then back to the temple that rested outside, he would sigh, and start to tell his story. 

    “ … we were heading to the underworld. it was this.. foggy area that surrounded the pit necross was smashed into. it was a long ways down, and while mune and glim went to go help with the night temple, i jumped in. i.. got knocked out by the impact with the ground. when i woke up.. ” pausing, sohone clenched his blackened fist. the more he remembered, the sicker he felt. the more he told, the more his arm ached. another sigh escaped his lips.

    “ when i woke up, there was probably hundreds of those snakes. i tried to escape, but i couldn’t. there was just.. so much, and i just wanted to fight.. i didn’t realize how dark i became. then.. phospho came in and saved me. i.. owe him a lot. ” he decides to leave out the part where phospho sacrificed his life for him. the guilt was too much for him to bare, and honestly the less leeyoon knew about his failure the better.

“It took hundreds of snakes to take you? Necross only needed to send two to turn me.” Leeyoon quickly realized his mistake he probably shouldn’t be saying such things... Especially to his only friend. Though if it were anyone else he probably wouldn’t have cared. He quickly faked a cough and stood up to walk around the room, trying to think of a solution. 

It took a long lost and probably old Guardian of the Moon to save Sohone, and even then he seemed to only postpone the inevitable. Sohone was going to become the next Necross and only the two of them knew about it. Leeyoon knew that Sohone needed an answer, but he wasn’t sure if he had the right one. It took some pondering, but he managed to come up with at least a half baked answer.  “Here’s what we know about the snakes. They try to target the darkness within someone, and do whatever they can to make them evil. They... wait until someone’s alone. So perhaps... It would take the company of another to keep the person’s heart pure?’ Leeyoon was hardly happy with that answer, and he was confident Sohone wouldn’t like it either, but that was all he had at the moment.
