Sometimes people try to destroy you, precisely because they recognize your power — not because they don’t see it, but because they see it and they don’t want it to exist.

What is pansexual? What is bisexual? What's the difference?
Pansexual:
attracted to people of all genders
NOT “GENDER BLIND”
not attracted to EVERYone or everything
does not include fetishistic attraction (the “pan-” refers to genders, just like “homo-” or “hetero-” or “bi-” or whatever else)
no but seriously. fetishes are almost always named with “-philia” anyway
not attracted to pans. that joke is probably older than you think
not attracted to bread
not attracted to half-goat mythical creatures
seriously those are all unoriginal and rude and ignorant and boring
not the same as bisexuality, but there is overlap
broader than most other orientations, but not less oppressive or otherwise superior
IT IS AN ORIENTATION I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS NEEDS SAYING OMG (it’s not some special paradigm where you love people for ~ who they are inside ~ — that’s what everyone does)
don’t listen to Wikipedia or the Oxford English Dictionary. they’re both really bad.
liking trans* and/or intersex people does not distinguish pansexuality from any other orientation, and thinking it does is cissexist
PANSEXUAL PEOPLE CAN HAVE GENDER- AND/OR SEX-BASED PREFERENCES!!!!
Bisexual:
attracted to people of two or more genders, which can include nonbinary genders
NOT INHERENTLY CISSEXIST
not inferior to pansexuality
liking trans* people does not make you less bi. at all. same goes for intersex.
not limited to cis women and men
not “attracted to ‘both’ genders,” because “both genders” is not a real thing
The difference:
bisexuality and pansexuality can overlap
the difference between pansexuality and bisexuality is that ALL pansexuals are attracted people of all genders. Only some bisexuals are.
"attracted to both genders" is the best known definition of bisexuality, problematic as it is. the difference between that definition and pansexuality is STILL not binary-identified trans* people or intersex people. Neutrois and genderqueer are some examples of actual genders that would actually be a distinction. (but if you’re explaining that, you should probably explain the more inclusive definition of bisexuality, too)
you don’t HAVE to identify as bisexual or pansexual or anything else if you don’t want to
you can identify as both if you want to, though
queer is another nice, applicable label, and so is polysexual (attracted to two or more genders — so the same as the inclusive definition of bisexuality, but calling more attention to the multiplicity of genders within the word itself)
(I identify as pansexual, polysexual, and queer. I’m cis and not intersex, so that’s where I’m coming from. Please call me out if I’ve gotten anything wrong.)

baretobush:
How Breasts Can Look
A little while back, I made a post about the Reality of Nude Photos, and the public reaction that really surprised me in response was that it seemed like a lot of people had never actually seen a female body in different positions like that before. Lots of people didn’t believe that both of the images in that post were really me, because my breasts looked so different in the two pictures.
And that really stuck with me. Not any kind of frustration at the disbelief I received, but a genuinely eye-opening realization that people didn’t know what breasts can look like when they’re just flopped around in a picture or looked at from a different side.
I certainly don’t have the same breasts as every other woman out there, so this is in no way meant to represent all of womankind. Not by a long shot. Breasts come in all shapes and sizes and each woman is unique in the way that they will stretch, sag, move, bounce, and so on. Women have different nipples, different sized areolae, and very differently shaped breasts.
These are my breasts. 12 photos of them just hanging out and doing their thing. Every woman in the world could make this photo chart and it would be a little bit different each time. And in my opinion, that is one of the most wonderful and amazing things about the human body.
this makes me so happy
!!! ATTENTION YOUNG WOMEN OF ALL SHAPES, SIZES, RACES, ORIENTATIONS, AND BACKGROUNDS !!!
do you feel alienated by most teen girl mags, even ones that claim to be ‘alternative’?
do you enjoy writing about your passions and experiences?
do you want to be part of something that focuses on empowering, encouraging, and educating other young women?
HELLCAT MAGAZINE WANTS TO HEAR YOUR VOICE!!!
we are a new online magazine with a feminist and leftist kick, written BY young women, FOR young women. we especially want to amplify the voices of those who don’t see much representation in other publications that target the female teen/twentysomething demographic - women of color, lgbt women, women who are not thin and/or conventionally attractive, disabled women, etc.
we plan to include:
a music section concerned with girl groups, kickass frontwomen, female m.c.’s, and lady solo artists
a women’s history column where we turn the spotlight to a specific female historical figure or female-driven political group every issue
a film section with articles about women’s representation in visual media, both behind and in front of the camera
"my life with…" - a special place for women to submit essays about their struggles with mental and physical disabilities
a personal style section for readers to share their unique fashion sense
lit zone featuring submitted works of poetry and short fiction
and more!!!
if you are interested in being a part of this project, have questions about it, or want to send us a piece, email us at [email protected] - we can’t wait to hear from you!!!
xo, steff
Bless this entirely. But it’s sickening how WE have to be the ones to correct the guys’ actions. Because being a decent human being is out of the question apparently.
Taken from the source article:
“What men need is a wake-up call: You’re the problem. If not you personally, then your best friend, a coworker, or that dude in your fantasy football league is. You’re making us feel unsafe every day, in a thousand different ways. To help you better identify your harassing behavior, we’ve illustrated the most common types of misogynists—along with the comebacks from us you might not get, given the trap-door spideriness of your attacks, but which you certainly deserve.” Illustrations by Brittany Kusa

There are certain words that are applied to women specifically in order to manipulate them into compliance: “slut,” “bitch,” “ugly/fat” and, of course, “crazy.” These words encapsulate what society defines as the worst possible things a woman can be. Slut-shaming is used to coerce women into restricting their own sexuality into a pre-approved vision of feminine modesty and restraint. “Bitch” is used against women who might be seen as being too aggressive or assertive… acting, in other words, like a man might. “Ugly” or “fat” are used — frequently interchangeably — to remind them that their core worth is based on a specific definition of beauty, and to deviate from it is to devalue not only oneself but to render her accomplishments or concerns as invalid. "Crazy" may well be the most insidious one of the four because it encompasses so much. At its base, calling women "crazy" is a way of waving away any behavior that men might find undesirable while simultaneously absolving those same men from responsibility. Why did you break up with her? Well, she was crazy. Said something a woman might find offensive? Stop being so sensitive. The idea of the “crazy” woman is so vague and nebulous that it can apply to just about any scenario.

HOLY SHIT YESSSSSSS THAT VERSEEEEEEEE
okay, you know that gifset that keeps going around with nicki minaj in lingerie with soft lighting and it has a comment like “i don’t understand why she’s not seen as one of the most beautiful women in the world” and a bunch of reactions like “wow yeah i didn’t realize how beautiful she was” or whatever. that’s always bothered me because nicki’s made it really clear that cotton candy hair and loud makeup is how she wants to be seen. if she wanted to have blonde hair and ethereal lighting on her at all times she would. she just doesn’t care about what you think is the most beautiful way to be.
Now that I’m an adult, describing Sailor Moon is a little embarrassing… but here’s the deal: Sailor Moon is a magical girl who goes to middle school by day and uses miraculous powers to battle evildoers from outer space by night. Everything about her is feminine, from her pleated mini skirt to the sparkling backdrop of her transformation sequence. She is also a clumsy gluttonous crybaby, an F-student, and as boy-crazy as a cat in heat throughout the first season. Despite all of her personal shortcomings, she dedicates her life to fighting for, as she puts it, “love and justice.”This was a world where girls were fighters. Where they could eat all the food they wanted. Where they could cry.
