I like to think the two did not like each other from the start when José got introduced, her already having a general idea of him from Alejandro’s stories and overall vibe while José finds her standoffishness as a challenge for him. They butt heads during challenges and free days, the producers kind of eating it up as the new rivalry to focus on for the season, until the two end up teaming up and become a problem for them.
Honestly favorite thing to draw was them doing the Paintball Deer Hunter challenge again, the situation kind of being based on another Ao3 fic.
Really fun to think about how they’d interact pre and post team up, still butting heads but slowly seeing each other as a friend and confidant.

But yeah, the two going from tormenting (annoyance) each other to teasing (besties) each other over a couple of secrets is genuinely so fun. Especially when you factor in none of the other contestants know the reason behind the sudden change!

Though to be honest my favourite flavour of Neha is bi who is totally chill, if not annoyed, whenever she starts liking a guy. Like you could not tell unless you're paying really close attention. But then she's an actual disaster when it comes to liking girls, she cannot function.
You can tell when I'm in the middle of working on something (the last fic request in this case, I'm at 12,000 and I keep rewriting one section so I decided I'm just gonna suck it up and post it tomorrow) cause I tend to do polls lmao
So for this one, I typically go for three options when it comes to the female noah hiding her identity/gender on the show via appearance:
She's binding, unsafely in the first season which has the angst potential, and then she gets better at it as the seasons progress and does it less since she doesn't see the need to (this is my most commonly used one so far)
She's naturally small chested so all it takes is a couple of layers and baggy shorts to hide her figure
And finally, she's a late bloomer. I've been thinking about this one quite a bit recently because it has potential tbh, the reason could be an illness, a genetic thing, malnutrition, or prolonged periods of high stress during the years she was supposed to go through it (the angstttt but also the fluff of finally bring in the right place physically or mentally for the body to safely go through the changes). And then there's just the literal late bloomer who only develops the curve and breast aspect in the late teens for no particular reason (comedic potential)
So this was mainly me thinking for the school au and which one would fit best in it narratively which then got me thinking about the implications of all three options and how it could impact her character as well as give reasons behind some of the stuff she does/says on the show.

Classes are decided by the number of episodes contestants compete in, as well as ones they play a significant role in/a part of the challenge
For instance, Zeke in London and Africa, Dakota in the intern era, Sam being a part of the challenge, Bridgette and Geoff heading the aftermath (even tho that doesn't really change much for them)
The OG cast and roti cast were ranked separately so that there was an even number of those groups, and the same was done between the males and females in the OG cast once again to ensure there were even numbers even if there basically were anyways
Og contestants who appeared in the same amount of episodes had their lowest two seasons' episodes taken and added together with whoever had the higher number being ranked above the one with the lower- this includes seasons they did not participate in
So for instance, between Trent Justin and Alejandro, their bottom two seasons would go 5+0, 6+0, and 0+0, respectively, putting Justin in the class above since he ranks above the two

The student dorms are separate into three buildings, one for each class, with three floors
The first floor is communal areas
The second floor is the boys dorms
The third floor is the girls dorms
The dorm rooms are shared between two people and they were allowed to pick their own who they wanted to dorm with!
The listed pairs is at the start of the year and the dorm situations do end up changing around a bit, and some of them end up breaking the rules like boys staying in the girls' dorms and vice versa

The campus itself literally has everything they need on it despite being smallish and made for 39 people
Anything that isn't there they can go to with their monthly pass
The teachers for each class was decided by Chris, he wanted the best (aka the ones who brought in most viewers aka his favourites) and wanted Blaineley to have the worst (aka the extras), Chef was left with the middle class
Class C are friendly enough to each other since most of them have spent months behind the scenes with each other due to not competing, but they're not really close with a couple of exceptions
This is mainly due to some of them being more secluded or prefereing to be by themselves previously
And then both Alejandro and the roti kids are even more separated from that since they didn't spend the same months with them
The class over all is putting no effort into the actual school or challenge aspect (with the exception of a certain few) which causes them to not get any points in the next month
This carries on for a month or two before Alejandro decides that he needs to get his class motivation so he can get enough points to transfer into class A
And it's not just his class either since Blaineley isn't even trying to act as a teacher at this point so yes, she also gets an emotional journey
Basically everyone in Class C gets their own arc (yes angst included) with some interlinked with others
Some of their problems started before the show begun (in the case of Neha and Eva for example), some are directly because of the show (like with Sadie and Dawn), and then the others are a mix of the two with having a preexisting problem that they were dealing with fine but their time on the show made it worse, or added a whole other problem to it (for example Trent and Zeke)
There'll be a post for each person eventually with their backstory and what lead them to their current mindset

Got a new femNoah au I've been working on and every time I decide something I get a new idea and can't choose between them....so I'm going to let you help me out here! This is the previous post which explains the overall premise!

This one is set after all stars, so it's post all of the drama that takes place there
The classes are based on the overall ranking of each contestant! (The averages of the percentage they placed each season up to and including all stars but not RR as it is not a part of the main season)
The lowest ranking contestants (as the most underestimated) decide they are sick and tired of being pushed to the side and want to prove everyone wrong by taking the spot of class A. It's basically an underdog story where they all come together, having had friendships formed previously from behind the scenes, and beat the top contestants.
However, class A is still very much in Chris' favour as he even plays their homeroom teacher
Class C, despite it being their pov, play as the antagonists in this
They're all upset with how their previous seasons have gone, or how they were treated by the other contestants or fans and want vengeance
The alenoah is a lot more of a rivalry thing here since he's a part of the class she wants to overthrow, but at the same time they remain kind of friendly
It's more of Alejandro encouraging their uprising for his own entertainment so he's not an outright antagonistic point all the way through, maybe at one point and then he stops- or he becomes more later
The other contestants don't really have as much time to grow in this tbh, it's mainly a vengeance filled thing for class C that spirals

This one takes place instead of all stars, post WT and ROTI. Basically the autumn immediately after ROTI (so a couple of months after it).
The classes are based on the episodes they appear on
In this, Alejandro (post volcano and not 100% recovered) is in the bottom class and wants to be in the top one- amongst the best. The main problem with this is he'll never make enough points on his own to switch immediately, and he sees his class as being too useless or lazy to get the entire class up there.
Basically he wants to leave there as soon as he can and to do so he unfortunately needs his class' help
So he plans on using them to gather just enough of the points needed to get himself transferred into the A class and basically back stab them.
However, none of his class is motivated whatsoever, they all kind of have a defeatist attitude thanks to years of not only (not) being on the show, but being treated like extras or second class compared to the rest of them.
So to reach his goal, Alejandro has to motivate them all into working together and putting in effort in the school itself (physical, academic, and social aspects)
As it turns out each of them has a problem/reason why they lack this motivation. Alejandro ends up having to help them work through all of this and even for a few of them to reach the goals they initially had when they first joined the show
Then along the way he ends up with a redemption arc as he learns to actually care about all of them through helping them with their problems and them helping him with his.
He learns not to take any of them for granted and they end up in the A class by the end of it.
Neha would either be one of the first people (Trent would be very first) he helps and encourages his own arc in return, or she's the very last one
Either way, the alenoah in this would be much more of a friends to lovers than the other and she's even one of the first people helping with his recovery despite the world tour thing
Over all this version would have all of the contestants grow as people (including those in other classes) but not without conflict and antagonists

The school- yet another female Noah au!
The premise is a classroom of the elite (for all of the anime's many faults, the school system has the potential to be a cool concept) style school. Mainly it's the S-system that's used!
Essentially Chris had gotten complaints from the fans about not showing their favourite contestants on screen enough, and for him playing favourites with contestants. So what else could he do but make an all new inversive show with every contestant!
Not only is it multiple years long (if successful, but there's continuous content so the fans get what they need and Chris gets more money!
He goes for a school environment!
Yes, basic school uniforms are in fact included
However, due to their ages, the education itself is varied. Either they're finishing up their last year of highschool, or have started/in the middle of university
So they're doing the typical core subjects at either highschool or university level, and then an additional one on their time table that counts towards a specific degree they want.
The additional subjects are taught online and the core subjects are taught by the homeroom teachers but they receive the content from actual professors
There are three homeroom classes (which all the lessons are taught in, yes it's complicated) each with 12 students: 8 OG contestants and 4 ROTI contestants all split 50/50 between males and females.
There's a specially built campus (they went all in on the budget for this) on school site where each of the (now) students reside on.
They are only allowed to leave the campus once a month per class, otherwise they are not allowed to leave at all without explicit permission, and no one (including family and friends) outside the students and staff are allowed on campus unless it's for a special event or there has been special permission from the headmaster (aka if they're able to bribe Chris).
Each class has their own dormitory with shared facilities like a kitchen, washrooms and a common area, as well as dorms shared between two students- same sex pairs only (not like it stops people from breaking that rule tho).
Wawanaka is (mostly) fixed up and used as a testing ground for certain assessments or field trips.
Okay, so run down of the s-system, as well as the changes made to it for this au!
It's a point based system where each class is given points based on their performance as well as other things, and every person is given individual points that are 20 times the class points.
The individual points work as a currency where anything (absolutely anything for a certain price) can be bought using them and each being worth roughly one dollar.
At the beginning of the first year, class points are based on the ranking of the contestants and from then on a mixture of things including how well they do on assessments, improvement, social, as well as the secret points assigned for ratings, can either increase or decrease it.
Class A has the most (they have a biiig head start), B has the second most (they're also doing well) and C has the least (they start off severely disadvantaged compared to the other two)
Because of this, class A also has the best facilities since they can pay for it- the environment basically encourages drama and competition, perfect for Chris! And if needed he can always stir it up by dropping in an challenge 'assessment'
To upgrade in a class either the entire class can via surpassing the number of class points of the other classes, or a single individual can by getting 1,000,000 points
Students can also (rarely, it's mainly so Chris can add some stakes at points) be expelled if they fail too many tests or if there are special circumstances. Speaking of, Staci is expelled automatically due to not meeting the criteria and to even the numbers
This is very much Alenoah, but how depends on the results of this poll
Also it does center around class C, so mainly B, Dawn, Brick, Anne Maria, Zeke, Neha, Eva, Trent, Tyler, Katie and Sadie and then depending on the results of the poll is the final student
But because it centers around them, it does focus mainly on the friendships and relationships formed, as well as the individual problems and development
Basically the contestants that didn't get the love in the show are the focus of this one which was the whole point of the new show
Oh yeah, and the homeroom teachers are Chris (A), Chef (B), and Blaineley (C)

You just know that between the two of them they'd be causing so much chaos in that school. Or at least fit into it. Like imagine neha/noah finally letting out her crazy/deranged side. Either with Izzy being her enabler (playing as the yumeko to her Mary/ryota, like I cannot stop picturing those scenes just Nizzy lmao) or literally yumeko enabling her and Izzy getting jealous over someone else corrupting her into letting loose.
It'd be so fun.
And Izzy would purposefully make herself a house pet, like she'd pull a yumeko and wear the ears. She'd probably do it without even being put in debt tbh, just for the vibes!
I really do love your art tho, the height difference between Neha and Izzy- and Neha just looks so pretty!!!

You know what'd be pretty fire?
An au in TD where after world tour (or even after roti or all stars) the contestants get roped into going to everyone's universities (since like half are canonically adults in WT they'd be in uni not highschool after). Except that every university they go to fits a different school genre from shows that just suit the contestants. And they range from kind of normal, to completely unhinged.
Oh yeah, and some go to the same as other contestants by pure chance.
So like Alejandro attends a rich kid one where they discriminate based on class
Heather attends a cliquey one.
Actually they probably go to the same uni tbh. So merged. Rich kid school filled with the children of important people who have an intense rivalry with another school.
Lindsay goes to one where everyone is insanely fashionable and no-one wears the same outfit twice, also cheerleading is incredibly important there. Think Kim Possible or Totally Spies or Winx club styled.
Maybe Justin also goes, it'd suit him.
Tyler attends a sports anime school. Like every single sports team is heralded as the most important thing ever, everyone has sports on the mind. So basically it's all anyone ever talks about there, there's constantly matches being played, and everyone is overly supportive and sportsmanship is highly valued. Though to be fair, this could probably be merged with Lindsay's school.
Duncan attends the typical 'school of delinquents who suddenly get a teacher who cares about them and starts to turn their lives around' type of school. Basically the one where either the teacher gets through to them thanks to basic respect or because they scare them into behaving.
Trent attends one that has a battle of the bands basically every week. It's how they go through school politics and literally every event (or even day) ends with some kind of performance.
Noah (coughcoughNehacoughcough) attends a classroom of the elite style where it's incredibly hierarchical depending on performance. If femNoah then it's either an all boys school or she's in an all boys dorm or she hides for a period of time for some reason.
But like, Izzy would probably be there too because it has the most schemey chaos potential. Either way they're the protagonists where one fully embraces the craziness, putting themselves in dangerous situations, and the other acts as the straight man who's secretly just as insane but it's only brought out by the crazy one.
DJ attends one where every major event is dictated by food. Like a cosy comfort one, not the overly horny one. There are of course competitions, but it's based more on the cooking as a community and food as a love language type of deal. Every competition and rival ends up as a part of the core group of friends instead.
Geoff attends one which is basically an entire frat house every day. Like it's the chillest place ever, even the teachers are chill. Like DJ it's more based on finding community and support over academics or sports.
Owen probably attends either the same one as DJ or Geoff.
Bridgette attends a seaside university, think the Australian teen shows featuring beaches vibes.
Courtney could go to a highly competitive school, but to be fair she could probably mesh into most of the others. As long as there's at least one class trial. Or maybe that's her niche, a mystery detective style uni that she needs to know the law for. But once again that could mesh with any of them.
Gwen attends a haunted art school. Like it's all peaceful vibes for the most part but there's something unsettling about the atmosphere. Turns out the school is cursed.
If anyone has any others to add or even any suggestions to switch up the others you're more than welcome to! This is all I can think of rn if I'm being honest.
Also call it favouritism (because it is) but I can already picture the Nizzy school and life threatening schemes 😭 like a merge of class room of the elite and Kakegurui levels of insane toxic Yuri nizzy

They totally would be mini masterminds!!! Like you know that common trope of the two underestimated geniuses where one is overly energetic and crazy, and the other is more apathetic and calm and it's totally unclear which of the two is in charge? That's them. That's their dynamic.
And Izzy probably got herself into debt on purpose because she thought it'd be funny.
Just fitting the two into the world of Kakegurui would be so fun in general. They get to join the gambling lesbians.
Why who's the smartest total drama character is such a complicated question and how it can totally be used in fics.
So starting with the OG cast. I've mentioned this briefly in the danganronpaxtd fic (which will be getting an update within the next two weeks, it depends solely on when I'm able to get the last request finished and the loser honey chapter out) but the use of IQs in TD is so silly.
Because there are only three stated IQs, Alejandro's at 163, Noah's at 180, and Izzy (as brainzilla) at 188. So clearly there's an exact hierarchy here, right? Wrong
So first things first, IQs are not typically given precise values outside of 160 because it's a curve based on averages and an IQ higher than 160 is so rare that there is not enough data to compare them and therefore find an accurate value.
Essentially, an IQ above 160 is not reliable or scientifically accurate, it's a guess.
And then that's not including the fact that we don't know what IQ test they did, there are multiple standardised tests all of which have different IQ numbers that are actually the same. Like a 148 on one could be a 130 or 132 on another.
But let's say that sure, they are accurate, neither of the three are lying about their IQs, and they all took the same test.
The difference of 180 and 188 on the IQ scale is basically neglible. The point system in IQ tests vary with some being different questions having different point values (like on a scale of 0-3) and others getting assigned additional points based on the speed they answered a question. So that makes it around a three question difference. Now, if you're already up there to the levels of genius and getting high enough that you clearly understand and are recognising the patterns, three questions are basically nothing. Especially if they're getting basically all of them correct. All it takes is having a headache on the wrong day and that could make such a difference.
And that's another thing, IQ results can change by a 5-15 point marginal depending on the circumstances around the person testing, they might have had a bad day and done ten points worse then what they would have if everything was going right. Some even get much more like a 20 point difference. Once again, because this is a bell curve, we're focusing on the top end (far less than 1%) and the difference between 180 and 188 is so small, you literally cannot say for certain.
Now, if we apply this to all three of them with 15 as the range (even though it is rarer than 10 which is far more likely) then they all have potential varied IQ ranges:
Alejandro 148-178
Noah 165-195
Izzy 173-203
So Alejandro and Izzy have a 16% chance of sharing an IQ, Alejandro and Noah have a 43% chance and Izzy and Noah have a whopping 73%. But once again this is just with the extremes, if it was on average then Alejandro would be nowhere near close to Izzy and only a 15% chance of sharing an IQ with Noah.
Meanwhile Izzy and Noah still have a significantly higher chance (60%) of sharing an IQ or shifting who's smarter.
Their stated IQs are high enough that out of the three of them, Alejandro's is the most reliable being closer to the cut off and Izzy and Noah's are the least and most likely to vary. They could have a higher IQ than the test suggests, or they could have a lower one.
Which could be interesting with the Noah and Izzy dynamics, both of them having similar thought processes but Noah not liking that or acknowledging they're so similar minded/she's the closest thing to his level causing him to lash out and project by calling her crazy constantly. And then there's the fact that based on their scenes in WT they are clearly good friends who respect each other and chances are it's because of this similar intelligence. Both Izzy and Noah canonically get annoyed at people dumber than them after all.
So IQ is out, but what about their social perception and being able to identify things about people? Let's look at their perception skills and how they compare. Except we can't, not really. Both Izzy and Noah screw the data. And that is an incredibly important and recurring point when it comes to the comparison of intelligence. Neither Izzy or Noah are trustworthy sources. Izzy is unpredictable and likes to lie, Noah doesn't like putting in the effort or lasts long enough to display it. Even the intelligent based challenge he competed in tested the intelligence least of them all.
But still, let's have a look.
First Izzy. She notices the Mal thing at first glance. Aaaaand that's about it. She falls for Justin and Alejandro, she doesn't seem to click onto anyone being manipulative. But then again she doesn't seem constantly completely fall for it. It is established that Izzy is willing to go along with something if she finds it entertaining enough so who's to say that doesn't go with the more manipulative contestants? Although she is the only contestant who is consistently able to get various reactions out of Noah so she must be able to read him well enough to tell what affects him.
And for Noah, he was obviously one of the first people to dislike Justin and that was before they found out he could be manipulative, and he's probably the only contestant who remained on bad terms with Duncan and refused to budge on that which could be said that he recognised Duncan was just a bad guy all around.
Plus we don't know when he first clocked onto Alejandro. Usually when this would happen with other contestants, they would have a confessional talking about how suspicious they are about another person or how they worked it out. Not Noah. All he got was warning the other contestants. You could say that he only noticed in Germany, but that was less him working it out and more him getting annoyed that Alejandro was throwing challenges. So he could have known since the first episode and just never said it out loud. Once again, we don't know because of the confessionals and Noah's lack of presence in the show.
Alejandro is also complicated because he does work out the Duncan Gwen thing after seeing Tyler's odd behaviour and the song between the two.
But then for a supposedly intelligent and perceptive character he finds out about Noah not trusting him (a teammate he spends the most time with in the background) through Noah out right stating it to his teammates and Chris letting him see it via the cameras. Based on his shocked and angry reaction, he wouldn't have picked up on it if Noah didn't outright say it or it wasn't shown on camera. The important part of this is that Noah figured him out, he did not figure Noah out. Noah had a better read on him then he did on him.
Same with Mal, he worked it out after coming across the confessionals and watching them. In neither of those instances did Alejandro come to his own conclusion on what was going on instead he was handfed the information and he didn't have an intellect based strategy, it was solely seduction based. So while Alejandro hasn't been put in a direct battle of wits thanks to his tactics, the closest comes to Noah which arguably ended in Noah's favour. He may have been eliminated but he won in the ways that mattered.
So with this being the only point of competition between the two (the elimination itself doesn't count because that was pure luck on Alejandro's side, they should've won the challenge and they just so happened to gain a teammate with an antagonistic relationship with Noah), Noah appears to be superior in intelligence. Once again though, it's not certain, there's not enough for a true comparison.
And if we're keeping with this theme then Izzy is more perceptive than Alejandro because she clocked Mal faster than he did. Though that does beg the question, how fast would Noah have if he had met Mike and Mal?
But yeah, Izzy and Noah's perceptiveness are mainly from their own personal experience and conclusions whereas Alejandro is from information given to him outside of it
If you add the female Noah thing to this then all it does is strengthen the point lmao, Noah and Izzy have a better chance at deceiving him than the other way around.
Intelligent contestants over all
So ig we can rule Alejandro out, or at the very least put him to the side for now. Which leaves Noah, Izzy, B, Cameron and Scarlett as the notably most intelligent in their cast list.
Except that there's literally no frame of comparison. Sure we could use IQs although that'd have a high chance of inaccuracies, but only two of these characters have a canon IQ which really do have a neglible difference.
Then what about the capabilities of these contestants? We can't use that either, for starters intelligence can be displayed differently in each person and none of them have taken any test that could have compared them on that front. Well, Izzy was quizzed but the other four weren't.
What we do know is that Izzy and Noah have incredibly similar IQs, that Scarlett is supposed to be the female version of Cameron without the bubble so their intelligence has to be on par with each other, and that B has no direct comparison. But between the two pairs, the only two of that interact cross-season are Cam and Izzy with neither of them doing anything that could compare their intelligence.
If they did and Izzy came out on top, then she's smarter than both Cam and Scarlett and the chances are that so is Noah. B is unknown. If Cam came out on top then he should be smarter than Izzy and Noah, but he'd have no way to know if Izzy was genuinely trying or if Noah is actually less intelligent than Izzy. B still remains unknown.
And that's the key part of their characters, Cameron, Scarlett, and B all try in the competition so their abilities are shown off. Neither Izzy or Noah try enough in the competition- or care for that matter- so we don't see their abilities. That's what sets the two groups apart.
So what's the closest we have for a comparison? Technology.
Except we can't use that either. We don't know what Noah's current skills are since we don't see him interact with technology in any way (which the area 51 challenge could have shown us) during the seasons. He wasn't given the same chance as those three to shine with what he knows best. Even Izzy didn't get to, but she did say she worked out the formula for time travel.
Alongside building technology and using mechanical prowess, B, Cameron and Scarlett have all used coding on the show. Scarlett also mentioned programming toys to pull her brothers hair for six years, but at no point is her age for that mentioned. The oldest she would have been is 10/11 which is still certainly an impressive feat, and we don't know what the youngest is.
Izzy and Noah aren't shown coding in the show. However, we know that Noah was able to hack into websites/forums when he was six and got a job from it. Now logically that would mean that he must have good skills with coding and implies he had an interest in technology. One that could have been explored and studied heavily in the ten year gap.
But that was at the age of six, we don't know what he is capable of now or what he was at that age. Was his ability back then on the same level as Cameron and Scarlett's are now and he's long surpassed them? Or was he less advanced? Could he now, is he at that level or long surpass it? Could he build the stuff they could at any point in his life?
What was Scarlett capable of at the age of six? Or Izzy? Or Cameron? Or B?
You literally can't compare them. Though I suppose that the two with the named IQs tried the least in the competition and were more focused on gags and snarking people. Especially if you believe the Noah self eliminated and Izzy is pretending to be crazy headcanons.
And it's because of all of this that we can't measure up the intelligence of the most intelligent people in each season. You cannot correctly assume who the most intelligent TD character is, so when it comes to fanfics and aus any of them can be more intelligent than the others.
So more people should make use of this imo. Like imagine Noah being a mentor figure to Cameron, like an online tutor or something before TD and he taught Cameron everything he knew about technology- compared to Izzy who he's scared of. Or Izzy and Noah mentoring B. Or Izzy Noah and Cameron being able to immediately (or almost immediately) pick up on Scarlett faking her personality.
Or in highschool aus where all of them are years ahead of their cast mates and instead interact with older characters.
They'd all probably pick up on whatever the others are hiding. Bonus points for femnoah and they are the only people out of the entire cast who work it out.
Hell, including Alejandro I offer to you all six of them interacting together at full brain capacity, that would be stupidly interesting. Alejandro would be outsmarted tho and humbled from it.
So then, what are your thoughts on this? If you had to rank them how would you and who would be the most to least intelligent of the group?
Kind of related to my last post, but the fun part of the TD contestants is that they could all plausibly fit into some kind of (mainly anime tbh) genre. Especially with the femNoah stuff for some aspects.
Like if you name an anime set in a school around their ages, I bet that at least three of them would thrive in that situation.
The crossovers fit too well I fear.
You know what'd be pretty fire?
An au in TD where after world tour (or even after roti or all stars) the contestants get roped into going to everyone's universities (since like half are canonically adults in WT they'd be in uni not highschool after). Except that every university they go to fits a different school genre from shows that just suit the contestants. And they range from kind of normal, to completely unhinged.
Oh yeah, and some go to the same as other contestants by pure chance.
So like Alejandro attends a rich kid one where they discriminate based on class
Heather attends a cliquey one.
Actually they probably go to the same uni tbh. So merged. Rich kid school filled with the children of important people who have an intense rivalry with another school.
Lindsay goes to one where everyone is insanely fashionable and no-one wears the same outfit twice, also cheerleading is incredibly important there. Think Kim Possible or Totally Spies or Winx club styled.
Maybe Justin also goes, it'd suit him.
Tyler attends a sports anime school. Like every single sports team is heralded as the most important thing ever, everyone has sports on the mind. So basically it's all anyone ever talks about there, there's constantly matches being played, and everyone is overly supportive and sportsmanship is highly valued. Though to be fair, this could probably be merged with Lindsay's school.
Duncan attends the typical 'school of delinquents who suddenly get a teacher who cares about them and starts to turn their lives around' type of school. Basically the one where either the teacher gets through to them thanks to basic respect or because they scare them into behaving.
Trent attends one that has a battle of the bands basically every week. It's how they go through school politics and literally every event (or even day) ends with some kind of performance.
Noah (coughcoughNehacoughcough) attends a classroom of the elite style where it's incredibly hierarchical depending on performance. If femNoah then it's either an all boys school or she's in an all boys dorm or she hides for a period of time for some reason.
But like, Izzy would probably be there too because it has the most schemey chaos potential. Either way they're the protagonists where one fully embraces the craziness, putting themselves in dangerous situations, and the other acts as the straight man who's secretly just as insane but it's only brought out by the crazy one.
DJ attends one where every major event is dictated by food. Like a cosy comfort one, not the overly horny one. There are of course competitions, but it's based more on the cooking as a community and food as a love language type of deal. Every competition and rival ends up as a part of the core group of friends instead.
Geoff attends one which is basically an entire frat house every day. Like it's the chillest place ever, even the teachers are chill. Like DJ it's more based on finding community and support over academics or sports.
Owen probably attends either the same one as DJ or Geoff.
Bridgette attends a seaside university, think the Australian teen shows featuring beaches vibes.
Courtney could go to a highly competitive school, but to be fair she could probably mesh into most of the others. As long as there's at least one class trial. Or maybe that's her niche, a mystery detective style uni that she needs to know the law for. But once again that could mesh with any of them.
Gwen attends a haunted art school. Like it's all peaceful vibes for the most part but there's something unsettling about the atmosphere. Turns out the school is cursed.
If anyone has any others to add or even any suggestions to switch up the others you're more than welcome to! This is all I can think of rn if I'm being honest.

But in short the José (redemption) au is just a fun little idea I came up with while thinking about how much of a common trope Alejandro having a redemption arc is- which I love to use myself tbh. So then I was like, what if it was José instead? Like José got the initial redemption arc before Alejandro did, and what if the network was the big bad all along! It's also alenoaheather with a side of joseva that started off as comedic potential but can be kinda cute tbh
