I think we can find the Centrist Compromise here - build massive apartment buildings on top of them all and then relocate the remains into an altar in each new unit where the ghosts of the dead can serve as a guardian spirit against intruders and/or rent increases. They can stay, they just gotta work like everyone else!

Alternative Centrist Compromise: Treat the graveyards as parks. They're already big vast grassy fields. Let people actually use them for picnics, recreation, and so on.

Recently I learned that my great grandfather apparently spent some time and effort investigating our family tree and supposedly managed to „prove“ that we are descended from Charlemagne.
