man i've seen criminally little art of both revan and the exile together considering they are so intertwined yet never interact on-screen in the games... i need more exile and revan comparisons, the whole 'looking at revan is like staring into the sun' and 'in you [the jedi exile] i see the death of the force' never leaves me alone..
Objectively the funniest thing that can happen in kotor 3 is making bastila have twins, one boy, one girl, and then die, whereupon the twins are separated at birth and ultimately redeem their evil father darth revan. bonus points if we call them duke and freya
Alek courageously manages to not walk out the nearest airlock. But his subconscious lovingly files this moment away in the "remind him of this six years later at 3 am as evidence that we're a horrible person" drawer.
Okay now you need to explain the situation/ situationship between Malek and the two Revans. Is it romantic? Does Melak like them as a friend, view them as a paragon, or perhaps needs to protect both the Revans and the galaxy from their antics? Oh Scout and Kess. Treasure the people that choose to be around you and put up with your nonsense
I've wanted to rant about this for a while! Thank you for giving me the excuse. <3 Illustrated lore dump under the cut. But the tldr version is that in my version of things, Malak has been pining after Revan since they were kids, and that hasn't gone great for him. Revan cares about him a lot, platonically, but they are AWFUL at showing that. So now Malak hates Revan, and Revan sees Malak as enough of a threat that he can't be allowed to live.
Revan and Malak have been friends since they were children, training together on Dantooine. Neither of them can remember a time when the other wasn't in their life. That was fine, if a little concerning sometimes, when they were children. (Alek did not stand up for himself ever, even when Revan knowingly got him in trouble.)
But things got real awkward between my Revan and Alek as they got to teenage years. Alek fell hard for Revan. Unfortunately, Revan wasn't so much a sex-repulsed AroAce as a sex-enraged AroAce. Before the helmet and all that came with it, it wasn't uncommon for them to be seen as a "pretty girl" and have their opinion ignored while being hit on. So Alek was hearing a lot of venting about sexism and how DARE anyone call them beautiful, etc. So he just kinda... didn't mention that.
Unfortunately, this turned into a bad habit - Alek would suffer in some way, and Revan would just never hear about it. Do you know how Alek lost his hair? He was captured and tortured by Demagol in Flashpoint. For multiple weeks. You know who got him out? Not Revan! Revan never acknowledges that Alek was in Flashpoint. There's a really good chance they never heard about it. He just showed back up after being missing for a while, and Revan was like, "Huh. You're bald now?" And everyone moved on.
By the time we get to Darth Revan and Darth Malak, he hates Revan. He hates them SO much. Because in chasing doggedly after them with truly sapphic levels of life-long yearning, he has caused himself immeasurable pain and lost things he can never get back. Then Revan cuts off Malak's jaw in a fit of anger, and all bets are off. When he sees an opportunity, he fires on Revan's ship, intending to kill them.
In the year that he thought they were dead, he was depressed and struggled to see any point or purpose to anything he was doing. He would never admit how much of a relief it was to hear that they had survived.
If there's anybody in the galaxy that Scout would consider a friend, it's Malak. (Their definition of 'friend' is, admittedly, extremely fucked up) They also understand realistically that he viscerally hates them, is a serious threat, has committed unspeakable atrocities, and definitely needs to die for a lot of very good reasons. They are just... not looking forward to that.
Kes, on the other hand, didn't care. Zero memory of this dude. New brain, who dis? Merced him at the end of the run and went back to their lesbian polycule with zero regrets.
In the woods rn on a camping trip pre giant cross country move and I brought my sketchbook. Briefly in cell service so thought I’d show some of the drawings I’ve done while out here the last couple days. Kind of all random shit but I was listening to the Darth Plagueis novel while hiking so that’s in here. Genuinely I have no idea how to draw a Muun. Kind of went off vibes and the brief description of him and his outfits near the beginning of the book.
Please for the love of the force don’t judge the fucked up proportions it was dark. I can’t see and I forgot an eraser.
