âYou get a strange feeling when youâre about to leave a place. Like youâll not only miss the people you love but youâll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because youâll never be this way ever again.â

âFrom my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity.â

what's a non-covid reason that you like wearing a mask for? mine is that it hides my mouth-breathing on long flights of stairs

i was with my motherâs family and they were talking to me about my religious studies major. my great aunt asked me what the definition of hell was, and i responded âwell i suppose it depends on who you ask.â and nearly all the protestants in the group decided that hell was âthe absence of godâ which i suppose is a fair answer, albeit not a universal one. my cousinâs wife was playing with her 3-year-old daughter and she says âwell mommy says that hell is a mcdonaldâs playplaceâ asdfghjhgfd
this 3-year-old girl is so fucking hilarious. her mothers have signed her up for a toddler yoga class, and so she has adopted a very unique language. this child also has an imaginary friend named âmomâ which is, in her mind, the boss of her two mothers. for example, my cousinâs wife explained to me how her daughter got mad at them one time. the little girl situated herself in the corner of her crib, pretended to type on a cell phone and said âim writing an email to mom right now and telling her how bad you two are. namaste.â
the familyâs Big Theory about âMomâ is that both my cousin and her wife are referred to as âMommyâ and âMama.â The nickname âMomâ is not used in the house because it would just be confusing. However, when interacting with the world, people tell their daughter that they will âtell her momâ if she is doing something wrong. so this child automatically assumes there is this greater âMomâ figure that is responsible for distributing universal justice.Â
To be fair to the toddler, thatâs pretty much how religions get started.
Our Mom, who art gonna hear about this,
A psa to my youngest followers:
- An older adult solely hanging with younger teens (Iâm talking 25yo & 15yo) and who doesnât seem to have any other adult friend is a red flag.
- An older adult talking to a younger teen and saying stuff like âyouâre the only one who understands meâ âIâd hurt myself if you werenât thereâ âYouâre my only friendâ is a red flag.
- Someone (regardless of age) who constantly ends up in discourse & drama is a red flag.
- If youâre afraid to talk to your friend(s), if you feel like youâve got to tiptoe as to not set them off and get yelled at/ostracized/worse, thatâs a red flag.
Please take care.

You think that Game of Thronesâ utter failure to live up to his premise would be proof enough why âanyone can dieâ is bad writing when divorced from story, narrative, and theme.
You have to actually have CHARACTERS to make a story work. You canât just kill them off over and over again for shock value because that would leave the audience with zero investment, either in new characters who are just there to die, or in established characters who will survive everything because The Plot Decrees It. The idea that âanyone can dieâ is a lie, even in the most grimdark of stories, because death is a plot device. Every character you kill just because you can is another character that canât develop, affect the plot, or reinforce the theme. Death is an important narrative choice and has to be made in conjunction with character arcs, story, and theme. Thatâs why GOOD writers make use of multiple consequences to their stories (amputation, loss of friends or family, trauma, depowering, character development, severing of alliances, loss of home) rather than just death, because it keeps the stakes of the conflict without having to resort to death to âproveâ that their story has meaning and that their charactersâ actions matter.
Game of Thrones figured this out too late, and itâs glaringly obvious with how many characters gain plot armor or how many armies respawn or how many decisions turn out to not matter because the writers wanted to play grimdark but didnât respect the consequences. And yet you still have people who cling to this simple binary of âdeath makes good storiesâ and think Game Of Thrones is bad in later seasons because enough people didnât die, not realizing how earlier seasons being careless with character and plot were what CAUSED those later seasons.  Itâs not the writers forgetting how things worked, it was the inevitable result of bad decisions from the beginning.
Death isnât the point. Consequence is. If you donât know how to handle consequence, it doesnât matter how many people you kill, the story will fall apart and cease to matter. While good writers can keep their stakes high without the characters ever being in danger of dying, because the reader/watcher/listener knows that there will be consequence.
Maddie Ziegler didnât even want to take the title role in âMusicâ at first, and she cried and had emotional breakdowns repeatedly when filming because she was afraid that Autistic people would think she was making fun of them.  Sia. Basically pressured her into taking the part and going through with it. So on top of everything else, the main actress was manipulated and exploited as well (especially since Maddie was 15 I think when they filmed it). Just gross all around.
Itâs true. Fuck Sia. Trash human.
maddie was 14 during filming [x] and sia started planning music around her when she was only 12 (contradicting the claim that she originally tried to hire a neurotypical actor to play the lead). [x] but we really need to talk more about the very intense and dependent relationship sia has with maddie, starting from when sia was 40 and maddie was 12:
sia stated that she âcanât do a project without [maddie]â and âwouldnât make art if it didnât include her" [x]
maddie has been said to have slept in siaâs bed on multiple occasions when she was 12 [x]
maddie stated when she was 15 that she âlived with [sia] more than i have with my actual family" [x]
sia has been referring to herself as maddieâs âsisterâ and âbonus momâ since maddie was 13, and has admitted to having control over maddieâs career, public image, and even her security team [x]
maddie is siaâs employee AND a child. this is not an even power dynamic.
