 A proper, good looking headbadge is one of the nicest things to put on a bike when it’s finished. It just gives the frame that little extra, and the weight penalty (for the weight weenies) is minimal.

Being a starting framebuilder, I decided I wanted to design one myself. It had to be of great quality, and had to reflect my brand’s DNA. Functional and stylish, built to last.

I read a lot of blogs, browsed builder’s websites online, scanned through the pictures and built up an entire database of headbadges for reference and inspiration.

Soon the my list of requirements was set.

Made in bronze (nice patina when it ages)

Big enough for modern ZS44 headtube

Easily recognizable

Top quality

 This is how the 3D drawings looked like. After a bit of tweaking the design was ready to go to the 3D printers, where a cast was printed.

I was glad with what I received a couple of weeks later.

The badge looks good in every way. The finish is great, with a nicely textured base layer and very clean polished lettering and outline. These will be on all my frames, starting with the FER gravel racer.
