Okay. Rambling thoughts about Karlach from BG3 and chronic illness

I think, as someone with a chronic illness, I prefer the ambiguity of Karlach's ending more than the "oh and she might have a new engine... And be fixed."

I think whilst playing this game, (after getting ill with Long COVID,) I really connected with Karlach. The woman who has had something so fundemental stolen from her. Who's lost her future. Who's body doesn't work the way it should. And it hurts her and makes it hard for other people to get close to her.

Sure. Management of her engine is possible... But if she's not careful in how she looks after herself. If she doesn't manage herself carefully, it will engulf her.

And management means: retreating to a place where she can't see the sun or touch the grass. A place where she is totally isolated from those who love her.

I think the original decision to Have Karlach's good ending be a choice of: no I will live. I will take the option to manage my symptoms. But the hope comes from her connections. From Tav and Wyll or anyone else deciding to travel this lonely, and scary road with her, because they love her so much.

Maybe she'll find a cure? Maybe she'll become content with herself and her life. But we the audience don't know the outcome. Idk. Something about her really resonated with me
