So, here are my thoughts on the new Wonder Woman movie. I’m putting most of this below the cut so as not to spoil people since I know I was lucky to see it tonight.

Do not read below the cut until you have seen the movie unless you want to have a few spoilers.

First off, I really liked the movie. I thought the plot was (mostly - see below) well done. The fight sequences were awesome and only one time was I taken out of the story (that was when David Thewlis came on screen and all I could think of was ‘Remus’!)

However, there was, in my opinion, a BIG plot hole in the final battle. When Ares and Diana are fighting, he tells her of her true heritage, that she is the daughter of Zeus. So why, why, why would he the proceed to try to take her out with LIGHTNING?????? Isn’t that one of the main things Zeus is known for? Wouldn’t a god who had been around for centuries know this and try something else? I just couldn’t get over it and it made the last part of the movie a little hard to stay with (mainly because I kept repeating to myself, what kind of an idiot uses lightning against Zeus’ daughter?)
