haaaiii i need to get dressed up and take some real photos of this but for now i just wanted to show off the kate mask :3 wip photos ⬇️

working with a cast of my face and some homemade paper clay. the whole outer shell is paper clay, the inside is a couple layers of plaster bandages. super not waterproof i need to seal this thang. used a dremel (grabbed at a yard sale hell yea), went to town carving and distressing

oh boy trust the process i was really not feeling it here but JUST TRUST IT white paint base, black in the darkest parts, watered down the black a lot to make a wash to go over the entire mask, slowly built up that watered down black. added more black into the paint water mixture as i went to darken it a little and went around the cracks and dents with that

o ya it’s all coming together

took a while to figure out what that stitching?? idk whatever it is? down the nose is, went with staples because it was easy to do and i like how they look, i’ll prob paint some rust onto them eventually

used a shitty thin old t-shirt for hoody 2.0 (will also post that l8r ;P) and had some leftover scraps, glued them in for the eyes, made sure to stretch them out a bit for extra visibility. decided to mix up some dark gray paint and kinda give her irises idek how visible they really look but if i end up not liking them i’ll just redo the eyes it’s whatever. hot glued in some elastic. and all done :3 i love how she turned out

working on book simon >:) just got the jacket, still need to print the back. i rly wanna try out permablood for him, see just how permanent it is and how it looks on fabric. i’d dye it like i did with jeff’s hoodie but the process of dyeing jeff’s hoodie was SUCH a pain in the ass. it took four tries to successfully get a blood look that didn’t turn the rest of the fabric pink, and the one that actually turned out looking alright was still totally pink at first but a quick bleach fixed it. so i’m not dealing with that all over again.

will be making another mask for him too. his design just feels like it would be better as a mask than sfx makeup and also i don’t wanna do sfx EVERY time i wanna put on book simon
