Love Death + Robot (Favorite Episodes from Seasons 1-4)
I was trying to link my review on Seasons 1 and 2 of Love Death + Robot with the latest season when I realized I made a rookie mistake of not backing up a copy of my previous Tumblr page. Yikes!
What’s lost is lost but my favorites remain the same.
Update: Included my favorite episode from Season 4
S01 E07 - Beyond the Aquila Rift
Synopsis: A man discovers truths and lies after waking up from a long slumber.
Thoughts: What I love about this episode is the twist reveal, the intention, and the reality that we have our own truths we wanted to believe to hide the ugly facts.
S02 E08 – The Drowned Giant
Synopsis: A dead man’s body subjected to the curious eyes of a small-town folks.
Thoughts: It always strikes me how we always get curious yet careful in approaching new things in life. With a little accustoming, we lose interest and leave things but not without a piece to remember.
S03 E09 – Jibaro
Synopsis: A knight took on the mystical siren in the battle of preservation and greed.
Thoughts: A conquistador theme that did great in personifying the conquests of the indigenous’ home and life. It clearly showcased betrayal, revenge, and greed which all lead to the destruction of something beautiful.
I like watching the episodes of this series as most of them are open-ended and thought-provoking.
S04 E02 - Spider Rose
Synopsis: Stricken by grief and fueled by revenge, a woman felt alive again after having a new companion.
Thoughts: I'm always a sucker for bittersweet ending and Spider Rose just gave the right amount of that. I like how a cute, seeming innocent pet made Rose feeling alive again - not a new man. She stayed true to her goal and loyal to her husband. It was almost a wholesome story. ;)
Leaving this Jibaro picture because I love its aesthetic.
