- hi, my witch name is Sara (it’s one of my witchy names)

- I am a transfeminine nonbinary woman, pronouns are she/her but I also use fae/faer and xe/xem

- I am a witch as mentioned, and I post a lot about witchcraft. I mainly talk about my own practices & I am devoted to la santa muerte, i am a witch of several titles such as a folk witch (bruja), garden witch, and water witch & fire witch

- I am Cuban, but I am also an Isleña, a Canarian (Canary Islander) in the diaspora! I am also a reconnecting Guanche, which is an Amazigh (indigenous North African) population within the Canary Islands!

- I am also a reconnecting indigenous person (Taìno) but I am also half white and acknowledge the privilege i have and want to use it to speak for my indigenous & Afro-indigenous alongside just any indigenous person mixed or not, who is not mixed with white and/or racially white (they’re also less privileged) to fight against racism and anti-indigenity

- I’m a leftist, which means I am a marxist (communist) and a marxist feminist alongside transfeminist 🔻

Today I want to emphasize that your practice is not meant to be the same forever, and that's okay! Change doesn't mean anything was necessarily "wrong," it just means that you've gathered new knowledge which has created an opprotunity for beneficial growth. While I believe daily work is important to the sanctity of one's practice, so too are cycles of rest and stillness. But there is a difference between stillness and stagnation, rest and burnout.

While you should never pressure yourself to be in a perfect "mood" for your practice all of the time, if you've noticed more than half your days of the week you've lost satisfaction, fulfillment, enchantment with your practice, then that's a signal something needs to change. Too often do I see practitioners who attempt to simply "push through it" only to end up burnt out for several weeks or perhaps months. Then they go back to their practice with the same methods as before, only to rinse and repeat.

I'm happy to talk further on this in another post! But if your practice ever makes you feel stuck or it loses fulfillment, retrace the history of your practice back to its foundations to find what no longer sticks and make room for something new.

Who’s gonna tell people who say stuff like this (not talking about @sunscratched) that communism is a far left ideology? if anything it’s considered to be the FAR left. you can’t be a “far leftist” or a “radical leftist” and then say you hate communism (and socialism, since socialism is mentioned within this post), the far right and the right wing HATES communism. because communism is the only ideology that has successfully defeated fascism, and threatens the bourgeois class & their status. they had communists targeted as “the incompatible left” and much more. you can’t hate the far left, or the “radical left” and then claim to be one.

Disclaimer: this is only based on what I know, studied, and much more. you can disagree all you want, but I do not care

Materialism isn't the same as only believing in matter. It's about understanding that material conditions shape consciousness and culture, you’re able to still believe in something that would be considered to be “theistic” or “spiritual”. marx wasn’t against that, when marx said “religion is the opium of the masses”, he was talking about how people turn to belief in divine intervention & deities, as a way to cope with their material conditions, because their material conditions were too unbearable to handle. when you think of sorcery, you’re thinking about how movies & media perceives it. for me, I view it through a scientific lense, or a mundane lense. I add logic and how reality works, so that way I’m able to tell the difference between “magical” and “mundane”, I don’t believe magic intervenes with people’s material conditions (like their exploitation, or “their life sucks because they have been cursed forever!!”) , infact most if not all witches don’t believe in how Hollywood or how you know magic to be.

a lot of people bring up this argument that I find not really thought provoking nor does it make sense if you read marx & engels and it’s that “it’s called scientific socialism for a reason!” marx called it scientific, to describe his theories because he based his ideas on real history, economics, and material facts, rather than on moral wishes or imaginary perfect societies. it’s called scientific because it’s how he imagined societies should work based off factors that historically speaking worked

when it comes to marx, and his theological beliefs. marx was a secular Jew. other words, an atheist and ethnically Jewish. Marx had his critiques of religion, and made a statement that was rooted in a predicament that once society improves since class division would be elongated and material conditions are improved, then we reach to full stage communism (correct me if I’m wrong), religion will be barely needed. and I agree to an extent, I believe that once society becomes improved, society becomes more secular, but just because a society becomes secular, doesn’t mean it just goes away, people will still hold onto their beliefs. and you don’t have to agree with everything marx has said. marx also critiqued how religion was utilized and weaponized to hurt the people seeking something to comfort them, but marx wasn’t against the idea of comfort.

several contemporary marxists did not agree with marx on some things, and other contemporary marxists had their critiques on how marx gave his opinion on a certain topic, but they never came to the conclusion that Marxism is “inherently wrong”, because they knew Marxism would lead to their own liberation, and the liberation of others, as well the improvement of society

and as a witch, why wouldn’t I be a communist? why should I as a witch be against communism and not be one? because nature is sacred to me, so are ecosystems and animals, the planet earth is our only home. and I find that marxism has always worked & others have seeked their liberation, marxism is the only ideology that speaks against the harm the ecosystems and nature are going through because of capitalism, even marx recognized this, and was ENTIRELY against it. he argued that capitalism kills not only humans but nature, witchcraft is about using the tools around you. most of us use herbs, plants, and other things that come from the earth, but how are we gonna continue doing witchcraft but not be communists, or against capitalism.

whether or not you want to be an atheist or secular as a marxist, is up to you. but materialism is how society functions and why society functions the way it does (it’s how I would explain it to someone in “easy words”) and there has been marxists who had their own beliefs, it’s entirely up to you, and marxism has never been against the idea that someone can be theistic and believe in marxism

“a witch who cannot hex cannot heal” is just as toxic as the threefold law, stop saying this shit. it’s generally harmful, toxic, and not helping victims at all, it’s not helping anyone at all, and forcing them to do things that they are not emotionally and/or mentally prepared to do, to cast baneful magic on people who hurt you to the extreme takes a lot of energy & you have to be in a headspace where you are calm and ready as well prepared.

The issue of trans women being sent to men's prisons isn't brought up as being a monstrous thing because of the misgendering, it's monstrous because we're sent there to be legally sex trafficked.

That's what V-coding is. That is why they are so adamant about sending trans women to men's prisons, because sex trafficking trans women within the men's prison system is an essential part of that system. Being misgendered by this isn't even an issue that's on our radar!
