Sometimes I feel like like jumping around hootin and hollerin because people characterized like Luke or Obi-Wan or Leia or Ahsoka is a way I disagree with and find “out of character” and then I just don’t.

I don’t do that.

Because it’s not a real problem. People can characterize them however they feel and write them however they feel and it’s not more or less valid to the ways I would characterize them because canon only exists skewed through the lens of your own perspective. Everything you ever make in fandom of someone else’s IP will necessarily be fanon because none of us are the arbiter of truth for Star Wars. So maybe Obi-wan was a callous and uncaring mentor and maybe he was a patient and caring older brother type and maybe he was none of those things and maybe he was both. Maybe Luke was a bountiful fountain of starry-eyed hope that will never fade and maybe he was just a naive young man who inevitably became as jaded as everyone else. Maybe Leia was a stone cold bitch who could kick ass and take names and didn’t hesitate and maybe she was the soft politicians daughter who was hardened into a commander but not a soldier.

I frankly don’t care how you characterize them in fic or comics of text posts, and even when the urge to argue overwhelms me, I need all of you to internalize that it does not matter. No one is committing some great sin for disliking the Jedi even if they get victim blaming about it, because the Jedi are not real, and their characterization is likely them exploring their own creative understanding of this world. Whether I disagree is irrelevant to how they want to play, and Fandom is a play space. I don’t care if you smash your dolls around committing heinous crimes, they’re still just dolls.
