MOAR coltland twins… smiles and laughs

colt and grace are the two insufferable kids u hear whispering every second of the movie. grace is info dumping about the most random shit ever and colt is making comments or asking questions.

grace probably packs food for the both of them. he probably owns like 10 different thermos containers and lunch boxes

colt does in fact brag about his brothers cookjng to his friends. “hey guys.. look what my brother packed me for my lunch 😼”

colt somehow never gets sick, whereas grace gets sick every two weeks.

colt gets nosebleeds very frequently, especially during the summer. its a common occurrence but grace FREAKS OUT every time regardless

grace is notoriously bad with management of finances so hes just learned to become extremely stingy. colt isnt much better but he really doesnt care

grace has entertained the idea of being genderqueer but he has a job so he doesnt really care about that. colt is very supportive nonetheless.

grace owns genuinely career ending photos of colt. not that he’d ever share or leak them though.

colt has tried to set grace up with someone repeatedly. however, it always ends badly due to graces sort of awkward nature.

after the launch of the hail mary, colt is somewhat glad that grace never got into a relationship. he isnt sure what he would do if somene like jody left him forever.

once the beetles return home, colt often goes on interviews to brag about his relationship with grace and reminisce about their time together. he gets very emotional.

grace probably called colt immediately after the lab explosion since he knew there mightve been a chance they might send him. colt had tried to reassure him and said that if grace wanted out he could call him and colt would come get him. grace never called.

colt somewhat blames himself as he feels partially at fault. but hes also so immensely proud of what his brother has accomplished.

as graces health deteriorates on erid, he sends one last message to earth, and another to his brother.

whenver colt displays a bad habit grace will immediately tell him off for it to which colt will just respond with “i learned it from you” and grace is absolutely speechless because hes right

colt occasionally visits graces school and all the kids flock to him

grace informs colt of all the school gossip, and he knows ALL of it. the two of them have mapped out a chart before.

grace has th WORST allergies known to man and colt always accidentally triggers them coz he just brings home random shit

grace is VERY weak to colts begging. colt can and will get whatever he wants with grace

colt would burn all of the food he tries to make and grace would eat it anyways, he just sugarcoats his opinions a bit….

a lot of graces clothing come from unwanted clothing colt has.

grace is VERY stingy and refuses to waste. he’ll basically try to upcycle anything and everything.

grace is also a very diy and byo person. he’ll cut his own hair, make his own furniture, and bring his own snacks to a movie.

colt would always brag about having such a smart twin and still does. he’d never do this in front of grace though

they were absolutely inseparable as kids. two peas in a pod conjoined twins type shit

they got into a really big argument nearing the end of high school which is what caused them to become so separated. although they did rekindle their relationship relatively quickly.

now that grace is gone. he still visits the school often. the kids will still tell him all the gossip. and he writes it down for the two of them.

grace and colt often cut eachothers hair when they were kids.

even though grace knows how to cut hid own hair and shave his own beard he sometimes still makes armando do it so it reminds him of his time with colt

graces memories of colt are extremely blurry and fuzzy, and a lot of them are from his childhood. he only has memories up until their big argument and a few very small fragments after. he wonders if colt thinks about him or misses him.

colt got put into prison shortly after the launch of the hail mary. the reasons arent publicly disclosed.

colt still puts his unwanted clothes in graces home.

ooohkay so project hail mary has utterly consumed me like it has done with everyone else. and so here are some of my coltland twin headcannons haha

grace is actually the older one, contrary to popular belief. he’s actually older by quite a while too, but everyone assumes the opposite.

when they were younger it was more clear that grace was older and colt was younger as grace was more extroverted and colt was quite introverted, but that somehow 180’d as soon as they reached high school.

grace once gave him a handmade scarf when he was younger. colt treasures it dearly to the point its now reduced to like 3 threads held together by hopes and dreams and colt STILL refuses to get rid of it. grace has offered to knit him another one. colt denied it.

colt pretends he doesn’t care about grace and dislikes him when in actuality he cares way too much. hes THE fake idgafer.

grace thinks that colt finds him annoying but still fusses about him constantly anyways.

colt calls him “mother” out of spite but over time its kindof become more affectionate since grace is like a mother hen. grace secretly adores the nickname too.

the two have a VERY inconsistent relationship. they might drift apart for months with no contact and then one night one of them might call and it becomes a routine for like a month before they just. dont.

colt listens to ALL of graces ramblings. even though he has absolutely no idea he still listens to him. he pretends to be doing something else though

colt would try to offer grace money so he could live a more comfortable life but grace would refuse every time.

colt taught grace how to climb a tree

the reason colt knew so much about the sand was from one of graces ramblings about the beach when they were younger. colt still vists the beach often. especially when its foggy.

they grew up frequently sharing clothing and various items. but now only colt has graces stuff and grace doesnt have colts things. not that it matters though, since grace doesnt even remember him.

grace probably phoned colt every night to update him on the project even though he knew colt didnt really know. grace wouldve emphasized his admiration an respect to the volunteers because he knew he himself would never have the courage. so colt knows something is wrong when the hail mary takes off with him in it.
