Edwina definitly could not handle Kori’s title, even if it was a joke. It was too powerful and Edwina was too lazy to be the kind of scary business woman Kori was. “I think I’ll leave the badassery to you then.” she nodded with a smile and nervous laughter.
“Uh…” Of course she didn’t it was Edwina, “No.” Eds started to imagine a weed supermarket. Did they have those in places like Colorado? Maybe if weed got legalized in their state then she’d suggest to Raquel that she open up one. It seemed like it’d be her thing. “I won’t be weird!” she defended, though being normal was very hard for her. She struggled with not making herself out to be a freak every day as she tightened the strap of her fanny pack and hung out with the Addams Family at lunch. “I love Maddy and comfy clothes!” she blurted excitedly, realizing maybe being that chipper wasn’t ‘cool’ so she relaxed her body until Edwina looked like she had just gotten tranquilized by one of the rangers. “I mean cool.” she nodded, dabbing for cool emphasis (because cool kids dabbed, right?) “I’ll see you then.” Eds said, shooting Kori some finger guns before walking backwards and practically tripping over a garbage can, then scampering away in embarrassment.
It brought a smile to her lips hearing the words leave Ed’s mouth. Badassery. It was cute, for once, to be considered a badass and less of a stone cold bitch. It was hard to find the balance. “Then you get to keep the fanny pack.” she pointed out, a trait she wouldn’t pick up in a million years.
Of course the girl didn’t know the work Kori put in. At the end of the day she was running a business. Products didn’t magically appear. There were packages to collect, pills to push and profits to be made. “Awhile. Twelve hours is being generous, pal.” she noted. Kori scoffed before muttering to herself, “Famous last words.” There was something about Edwina acting cool that felt like being hit with a truck. A short guttural breath escaped the girl’s lips over the dabbing. Kori was feeling less regretful, and more so just wondering if a ranger would should someone in a bear costume. Who would be in the costume was yet to be decided. The finger guns sent a shooting pain through her chest. The second hand embarrassment was almost nauseating to experience, getting hit with multiple waves of awfulness. “Laters.” she responded, already headed in the opposite direction to work.
It took several hours to make the perfect batch, which was lucky as Kori was almost out of candles to hide the smell. At least all the nonsense with the rangers and rabbits and whatnot kept most teachers out of her business and in other locations of the school. Patiently she waited out in her room, brownies neatly stashing in their tupperwear under her bed.
