He absolutely is one of the best ones - he’s probably the most iconic Doctor, at least he is in the UK, I don’t quite know if that’s the same abroad. He was my first Doctor! Oh yeah, I got into acting because I wanted to play the Doctor, or at the very least get a fairly memorable part in the show. When I actually started acting, though, Doctor Who had just stopped airing, or was about to stop airing - it was that kind of time. Then there was the movie, but I didn’t expect the show to ever come back. Then I got lucky in that I knew Russell because we’d worked together, and he was sort of like “so would you like to audition” and of course I was so flattered to even be asked to audition, and then somehow I managed to get the part. My boyhood dream became a reality.
