What do you mean by “Fan fictions”?
“What's going on, Paul? You've been checking on your phone for a long time”. Bob asked, as he strummed a soft tune on his bass.
“Yeah. Well...- he exclaimed while scratching his head, confused”.
“I've received a DM on Instagram and it's kind of weird”
“Nudes or something like that”. Dino laughed, sassy as always. “This wouldn't be the first time any of us receive one of those pictures anybody asked for”.
The four guys looked at Dino curiously.
“What? You won't tell me you haven't received any!”
“Well, some people sent me a lot pictures most of the time, but I don't usually check on them, I don't have the time. So…”
“Paul, could you continue?”. Alex said, he was willing to know what all that weird DM was about.
“Ok. This is not a picture, it's a link. At the first moment I didn't want to open it because, you know… virus and that stuff, but, then OP wrote it was important as a band to know this because it was <<very funny>>".
“That's the name of the account. I've checked it and it has nothing, it's an empty account”.
“So it was only created to send you this”. Alex deduced.
“I don't know man, but the link took me to a PDF document. And it's full of stories. Stories about us”.
“Stories? What kind of stories?”
“Stories in which we are the protagonists, like, we going on tour and things like that. Or that's what I thought at the beginning”.
Julian's mind started to work out. <<Stories about us. Aren't they…?>>
“Oh no. Paul, are those fan fictions?”
“Fan fictions! Stories that fans write about their favourite artists. Haven't you ever heard about them?”
“Do you mean <<written fantasies?>>”. Dino asked, curious about the fact someone wrote something about him.
“Yes! I mean, no… well, sort of”.
“You said <<at the beginning>>, what else is there?”
“This is where things get weirder. Most of the stories are about us, like relationships about us”.
“It's amazing how, even when we keep our private lifes so secretly, they can discover it”.
“I never said our relationships. They are relationships among us. There are a lot of plots”. “They made an index for us. Look here, this one is about Alex and Bob. This is about Dino and Julian. Oh! This is about me and Bob. This is called "My twilight story between Alex and Julian. This is called "The rich and the poor" and it's stared by, oh. Nick and Alex”.
Julian immediately imagine Alex getting angry and saying "Do not mention that name here!" but instead, he only saw the glimpse of a sad look coming out from those blue eyes.
“You can't be serious. So, what do we suppously do there? Being in a romantic relationship? Kiss? Fuck? Gosh. We are grown ass men. Girls can't be writing things like this”.
“I don't think they are all girls”.
“Ha. You really think that? OP only put all the stories…”
“Fan fics”. Julian interrupted
“What about you and the fan fics?”
“My niece used to write some, she made me read it sometimes”.
“Weird. But ok. So, this person didn't include the authors or where to find these”.
“I just can't believe it! Writing stories about us like that”.
“You know what's the weirdest thing about this?”
“That you and I are a couple in a story?”
“No. Why all of them are so gay? There’s no one with a girl. I mean, a fanfic is about a FAN and her or his celeb artist. Like "omg I love you so much and we are going to be together when you see me the first time", things like that. Like a date with a fan, sometimes things get out of control and he or she writes how you, well, had sex and things. But any of them are about it. All are about us! Between men. Gays relationships”.
“I told you Michael would give us a gay vibe, Alex!”
“Well, I wouldn’t mind If people think I'm gay or something like that”. Dino said, shrugging his shoulders.
“Oh, tell that to your girl”. Alex commented.
“I'm still intrigued about the fact that any of those are written as a common fan fiction. I mean, all of this is between us. It shouldn’t be about a fan and us?”
“So you wanna be the wet teenager dream of some girl?”
“Paul! No way, I didn’t mean that. What I was saying…”
Alex started to ready part of the story Paul was looking at. “<<So they kissed so softly, that the couples of the movies would be jealous of the love the guys were showing>>
Well that’s not exactly our relationship, right Julian?”
The tall man just laughed and said "not as I can recall".
“Ok. Weird. Why don't we just forget about how are the dreams of people at that age”.
“Just focus on what is important. Tonight's gig”. Paul added, turning off his phone.
