Decisions...
So now that I have a granddaughter, who is out of state (9 hours away), I have to decide what is more important! Going to visit my sweet new grand baby or "walking" for my college graduation next Saturday. If I walk, my mom and husband will be there to support me; not my daddy because he died 3 months ago, not my son because he's going to see his baby girl, and neither of my brothers... If I Don't walk, my mom and husband can spend their day doing more important things and I can go with my son to see that beautiful baby girl!!! I think this is a really tough decision!!!
I don’t remember the first time we met. I do remember how happy you made my momma.
I remember the day momma took the picture of your arm propped up on my head. I was a great prop.
I do remember living in apartment B5 when I asked you if I could call you Dad.
I do remember when you kept mom from…
Sometimes, you just have to stop and re-read!!!

Historical Geology Final
Ok, so there is one more class day... that is tomorrow.
Our final exam is tomorrow as well.
The best of it is that after it is finished, I am heading to a spiritual feast!!!
Man oh man, I need that and I mean badly.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend.
Especially my friends on here!
Say it like you mean it...
Well, off to sleep. Prayers to all those who may need a little extra ;-) just like me. <3 to all with wishes for health, love, safety, and happiness.

To the man I call Daddy

I do remember when you kept mom from killing me when y'all came home and there were people in the house.
I remember NOT meeting Steve Perry at a sound check because I was too busy plugging my ears to see him standing right in front of me.
I remember the outdoor concert with Maze when Jamo let me on stage with my camera and Frankie Beverly let me dance on his piano!
I remember the way you have expressed your feelings each time I have gotten married. Now I understand why.
I remember sitting on the front porch with Bink while he moved the clouds with a single breath..."Watch!"
I remember being in love with Lee's Camaro. I still have never gotten my 1968 Shelby Fastback.
I remember when Sara had puppies and we argued over me keeping one of them. I named her Cheyenne and she's been yours ever since.
I remember the gun you threatened to use on the guy who broke my heart, when he showed up at the house for no reason.
I remember my wedding in Ailey. You finally gave me away because I had a real wedding. You were so handsome.
I remember hanging out under the hood of the '66 Chevy, learning how to do a tune up and mount a Holley fuel pump to the firewall.
I remember when Dillon was so little and you started a nail in a scrap board so that he could hammer with you while you built your shop.
I remember that he wanted to be just like his Papaw. I wanted to be just like my Daddy.
I remember the day you moved the old well pump house frame so that Dillon had a play house.
I remember how great it was to know that I finally had a daddy. My Daddy.
You will always be Dillon's Papaw.
You will always be momma's love.
I will always treasure our memories and carry them with me forever.
Just last Thursday, I remember your test results coming back positive for metastatic cancer in your lung and back.
With radiation, two years max! That's only twenty-four months! Really?!
Now I think back to 2001and my momma lost her momma to the same damned cancer! This parallel sucks!
I trust in Jehovah and I pray for his holy spirit to embrace all of us while you fight back, fight to stay alive.
I have faith in the resurrection and I am certain that only with Jehovah will we all survive the sorrow that comes with death.
I love you Daddy!!!
I believe we will meet again during the resurrection and that we will know you right away.
Calmness is what I need. Faith is what I have. Love is all I can do.
You are my Daddy... Thank you for everything!
Satisfy my soul!

If you love soccer (real football) ... and LOVE Brazil like I do... great descriptive writing is found here! Check this out! Love me #someballin
Boneshepherds, my last book, was basically done in 2009. As a matter of fact, I sent the Boneshepherds manuscript to my editor in 2007 and both of us were ready to go into pre-production almost immediately. But as I went back to it, as I sent it out to folks I trust, it just didn’t feel right. So...
@ patrickrosal, looking forward to reading your next :) Chris Mattingly has inspired me to write again and I really felt where you were coming from here. I hope to be able to write like you both and like Ross Gay too. You are inspirational!

I think I want to sit down for a while and just start writing again. It has been a month long pause - time to get back in the saddle and COWBOY UP!!!
Love me some #ChrisLeDoux!
