▬ {☼} Snap.
Terra had the temper of a tiger and little to no patience for anything she didn’t like. Both together were a deadly combination and usually ended up in her taking on the persona of the animals she was so close to. One second she was simply a girl working behind a register and next she was a wild beast, crouched on top of the counter, claws out.
She leaped from her position onto the ground and bounded towards him. Her fingers grabbed a fistful of his shirt and she yanked him backward with all her strength.
Meanwhile, the customers of the cafe watched in astonished silence at the events rolling in front of them. Some jumped out of their seats while others covered their eyes.
"You want a joke?" Her eyes were flaring with rage. This douche had gotten on her last nerve and she was ready to humiliate him in front of the entire goddamn place if it came to that.
Eden almost grinned and said something sassy--not quite having the mind to think he was in danger. He almost opened his mouth. It was only a split second of intervening consciousness that stopped him from being stupid for he thought "Oh, right. You don't tell jokes to people who are angry".
Come to think of it--the turn of events was a little unnerving. He couldn't quite put put his finger on the feeling. An outsider looking in, writing the tone, couldn't quite wrap their mind around it; for the ratio of fear mixed with disdain mixed with nervousness was enough to be confusing. Eden sometimes found himself hounding over his emotions for hours...never quite afraid but worried...very worried...and a little off put.
Honestly, he really wanted to sit. He was a little baffled that he wasn't at the moment. Somehow, he was in a death grip and found himself standing there long enough to be...worried?
"Uh..."
He had to think this out. No room for being stupid.
"Well..." He said, pausing again and trying to think of a way to get himself out of a battle that he wasn't sure he felt like battling.
"I was going to leave you alone, actually," He said, with gradual progress, "And maybe do something that isn't picking fights with people during their work hours..."
Eden began to purse his lips, inadvertently smug in the way he looked.
"I dunno, you could cure your little 'emotional disease' there and kind of...take a fucking joke."
Stuck the landing. Ten out of ten--he was a gold medalist in tact. Somehow, he opened his mouth and words glided out beautifully enough to get his ass kicked...
Gods. What a wonderful day.
The situation brought a sense of nostalgia from his last job--working at a bar and somehow managing to fuck that up to the point of being referred to as 'the scourge of the counter-top'. He remembered being fired, specifically, for leaping over the counter and beating the shit out of customers who he still, to this day, couldn't tell how much they deserved it.
Maybe it was destiny. Maybe fighting on public property was a thing the gods sought for him.
He glanced back to the various pedestrians that, somehow, seemed be at such a far distance. It was like a glass wall was between them, and everyone in the crowd was a component of one being...
He expected a medal.
