UPDATES: chap. 20— 10% (1k) Reincarnation, she thinks, would be a lot more interesting if she weren't predestined to die. ( From fire, genocide, amber lead— take your pick. ) lami oc-insert fic.
This is the blog for the One Piece fanfiction “PICK YOUR POISON”, and the larger novel series “of omens, signs, and reckonings”! The story focuses on an OC-insert who is reborn into the body of Trafalgar D. Water Lami, who is destined by canon to die (three times over) at age eight. This blog primarily focuses on answering questions, dropping random art projects, and rambling excessively about this story.
Well, not fics really more like ideas that I have in mind.
I've spoken about the HP one on my other blog--mauraders era fic where the initial concept in my head was "what if the story is focused on an OC that isn't the SI/OC, but is the one dealing with the consequences of their choices?" A lot of focus on pureblood politics with big big dark academia vibes. Theories on magic. I actually have the first chapter already written, but I feel like something is missing from the story so I haven't bothered to post it yet.
The ATLA one is living rent free in my mind right now thanks to all the movie leaks. Genuinely revitalized my inspiration for this story LOL The story would focus on a SI/OC who is reborn into the upper ring of Ba Sing Se as the niece of Long Feng. It would focus on her navigating the politics of nobility as well as her descent into her uncle's schemes. Similar vibes as PYP wherein the MC knows the story and knows that she should do nothing to ensure that she doesn't fuck up the timeline (to, of course, middling results) but struggles with turning away from those in need when she is in a place of (fake) power. (Which in itself is a whole other thing I'd want to unpack)
IDK
I have a lot of story thoughts and ideas but I have so little time to do anything 😭
I have a question, have you watched hxh it's an amazing anime and it have so much potential to work with. The Zoldyck family dynamics, the phantom trupe, Hisoka, the dark continent, nen !! And so much more.
And you have a huge talent in writing, maybe if you have time and power you can make a fic, a SI fanfic like PICK YOUR POISON.
I know it's a lot to ask but maybe it will be worth it. (I know it's worth it ).
(And only if you have time and if you watched the anime or read the manga can you make a small ch where there is a SI into the Zoldyck family? Or even someone else it doesn't really matter)
I am doing well! I hope the same for you, kosn :)
I LOVE hxh! It is one of my favourite animes! I am not caught up to the manga (got to the start of the dark continent and stopped) but I've seen a lot of really cool spoilers for the complexity of the politics in the arc. HxH definitely has a fantastical world that is so, so good for writing OC stories haha.
I've come up with too many character (...well, mostly nen abilities lol) to count! Historian hunter with the ability of psychometry, Zoldyck with self-healing abilities, reincarnated guy with negating abilities who's just there to chill, ect. But the thing I've really struggled with is that I haven't come up with a decent plot (that I like) to really tie the story together—I'm sure you've noticed, but I don't really like my stories following along with the main cast haha.
Honestly, lack of time and power is the only reason why you haven't seen a HxH, AtLA, or HP story from me. Once the lightning strike of inspiration hits, youll see like 6 chapters pop out of me (like memento vivere lol)
That all said, I'll put together a drabble for you sometime this week for a Zoldyck OC :)
Here is a blurb I wrote for this--best believe that once I have an actual plot that I will start posting for it, I've been putting more thought into this than I was planning on LOL
AU / SI into the Zoldyck family
Not PYP related.
Survival in the Zoldyck family requires two things: absolute obedience and a lack of conscience.
Millune, oddly enough, has neither.
Reborn into the world’s deadliest lineage with memories of a kinder life, Millune was born to be a tool—not a person. Yet with every breath he holds, time bends around him, and in these fleeting moments he dares to defy his father’s designs to protect siblings that are, admittedly, strange but nonetheless his.
However, in a household where love means duty and hesitation leads to death, Millune learns a cruel truth: you can’t protect everyone—
and, to save his family, Millune may just have to become the very monster he’s trying to avoid.
The forest floor beneath him is wet and muddy from the rain from the night before. Blood, bright red against the shock of white that is his hair, flows in no particular rush to the very ends of his fringe and drips down into the puddle he is hanging over.
drip.
A warm ceramic mug between two hands. Laughter. A roaring fire.
His limbs are tightly bound in thick, dark ropes. Perhaps embarrassment or frustration would eclipse the pain radiating from his fingers, if he were not so tired. How long has he been left alone in this forest, he wonders, in the name of training? He has lost track of the nights. He only remembers that Illumi had left him behind after the third night, voice both light and haughty as he had left him behind.
Burning coils of pain strike like a snake through his arm, right up to his shoulder. By his calculations, at least three of his fingers are broken—though, from his hanging position, he cannot crane his head around to see them from where they are confined between the rope and the small of his back.
He does not know when he will be saved.
If ever.
drip.
The sound of a turn signal clicking in a quiet car. Soft humming to a song he vaguely remembers.
Hunger is a physical ache in his stomach. He has not slept—not with Illumi out there, somewhere, undoubtedly looking to earn extra marks on a middling task unworthy of the expended effort. Rain and cold have left his extremities swollen and shaking, though it is nothing compared to the wounds that were inflicted by pets he was beginning to consider family. A silly mistake.
There is grief, somewhere, attached to that thought. Why must attachment be attributed to mistake?
drip.
Nothing given from the heart is ever a waste. A woman’s voice, soft and said with love.
The silence of the mountain is numbing, broken only by the rhythmic splashing in the puddle below. It’s a countdown to a death he wasn’t supposed to face so soon. His lungs feel heavy, the air thick with the scent of pine and iron as he takes a long, shaking breath. He closes his eyes, trying to find the world of before again—the one with the soft carpets and the laughter and the sun-kissed afternoons. He tries to pull the memory over himself like a blanket to stifle the scream building in his throat.
His breath hitches. He holds it, desperate to keep the memory of a kinder sun from flickering out.
Suddenly, the dripping stops.
Millune opens his eyes and finds a world suspended in grey. A single droplet of blood hangs mid-air, a perfect, ruby sphere trembling an inch above the puddle. A leaf, shaken loose by a breeze that no longer blows, is frozen in its descent. The pain in his fingers doesn't quite vanish. but it dulls, stretching out into a long, thin wire of sensation. In this stolen pocket of a second, the Zoldyck mountain cannot touch him.
As always, he is alone in The Interval.
But his lungs are burning, a sob desperately trying to weasel its way out of him, and he knows that the moment he lets that breath go, the world will come crashing back in.
And Illumi’s shadow will still be out there—
waiting.
However, the Zoldyck training, as cruel as it is, has built a body that knows how to survive. His diaphragm spasms—an involuntary, violent jerk of the muscle that overrides his will.
He gasps.
The grey world doesn't fade, it shatters.
It’s less of a transition and more of a collision; time slamming into him with the full weight of Kukuroo Mountain. The absolute silence of The Interval is replaced by a cacophony of sound—the roar of the wind through the pines, the heavy, wet splat of the blood droplet hitting the puddle, his own heart thundering in his chest, and the sudden, rhythmic drumming of rain cascading through the heavy canvas of trees around him.
The pain, which had been a distant sound, suddenly erupts into a jagged, pulsing fire. His three broken fingers scream at him as the weight of his hanging body jerks against the ropes.
"Ah—!"
The cry is choked out of him, half-formed and ragged. His head falls forward, chin hitting his chest as the world spins. The kinder world of his memories is forgotten, scorched away by the sheer sensory overload of the now.
Through the haze of pain and the curtain of his own wet, white hair, Millune sees a pair of boots.
They are clean. Impeccably so, despite the mud and the mire of the forest floor. They stand just inches from the puddle where his blood is dripping.
"You've been holding your breath for a long time, Millune." The voice is melodic, lacking any trace of edge.
Illumi is crouched just out of Millune’s direct line of sight, his head tilted at an angle that would be inquisitive if his eyes weren't so cavernously empty. He doesn't look surprised. He looks... analytical. As if he’s weighing the worth of a younger brother and finding it unnecessarily, inconveniently heavy. If he looks at Millune like that then he fears what expression might fall upon his face when looking at Nellumi—
The name brings a reminder that rattles through him.
Oh, what of Nellumi?
"Three minutes and twelve seconds," Illumi muses, his hand reaching out to catch a falling drop of blood. "An impressive feat for a child your age. I did better, of course, but it’s certainly a curious choice of action given your current… circumstances. "
Dark hair, blue eyes, a large smile. A hand reaching for his in the dark of the isolation room.
Millune is only half listening. If he were in any state to talk, he’d have made mention that Illumi is barely a year older than him and is, therefore, being a total drama queen. However, his mind remains stuck on his twin brother. Something deeper than embarrassment latches onto his throat. He should have done better to make sure they would be side-by-side during this excursion, should have ignored his father’s warnings about not babying him. A thousand regrets plague his mind; a thousand what-ifs playing like a distorted laugh-track.
There must be a world where even the Zoldyck’s acknowledge and admire the resolute desire to protect family above the mission…
Right?
( exhaustion muddles his mind, his vision going bright and bleeding together, he forgets a simple fact:
his brother is long dead. )
Illumi leans closer, the scent of damp earth and something sterile clinging to him, to impose his direct need for attention. His eyes, large and wide and dark, stare into him with little warmth. "If death is what you are looking for, would you like some help?"
Despite himself, Millune’s breath hitches.
"Oh, don't look so frightened," Illumi hums, his fingers ghosting over the ropes binding Millune’s broken hand. "I was just kidding. I wouldn’t want to upset Father."
White-hot pain spreads through him as small hands tightly grasp at the rope, roughly shaking his hanging body.
Remembrance fades away like a light-switch—both before and now dissipating as the world around him crashes into oblivion.

Hi, Have you seen the anime Gachiakuta ? It's really good, If you haven't seen it yet I really recommend it!!
Hi there, thanks for the recommendation! I actually haven't watched or read Gachiakuta yet, but it's on my watchlist for once the entire season is out!! The animation for the show looks really awesome. I have seen a couple of spoilers for the show, however, since my social media feeds seem to think I want to know all the dark and gritty 😭
I haven't been keeping up with anime, aside from TSHD, unfortunately! I'm trying to bulldoze through Critical Role stuff right now, but it's a doozy.
If you have any other recommendations, feel free to share!!
I just wanted to follow up with you anon as I absolutely biiiiiinged through Gachiakuta yesterday!!
You were absolutely right anon!! What a ride. I loved it. I can't wait for season two. I love shows that feature functioning, responsible adults—shout out to Gris, Tomme, and Enjin in particular. Spoilers for the show led me to think that it was more of a gothic, dark show than one about learning to love and be loved and how there is (literal) strength in it so I was very pleasantly suprised.
For the entirety of the show I was desperate for someone to give our little owl-eyed kiddo a hug 🥺 Some one save Amo too please and thank you.
I am also in love with Zanka's older sister. I need more of her in particular....... .......
I'll probably binge through the manga at some point tbh. I've already got some doodles in the works because the character designs are so *chefs kiss*. I'm in love with Enjin's tattoos in particular.
A part of me wants to write a fic for Gachiakuta but I'm clearly well past my breaking point for fics rn :p

Hi, can you give us spoilers of how Lami will escape Doflamingo and how he will react to that ? Where would she go ? Will she use the marines ? Will she join them ?( And I have a question, Will she became a journalist ? )
Hey there!
I don't plan on offering any big spoilers for events that will happen in the story, as I still plan on writing for it! But thank you for the interest :) I've got a lot planned for her future.
If lami can read fanfics what kind would she read? XD
LOL I love this!!
I think that Lami would prefer long-fics (esp multi fics) that have a little bit of everything--lore, interesting plot, romance, etc! I don't think she would be particular about the type of tropes involved, though she wouldn't like modern!AU fics and probably does like cross-over fics. Because of her all-or-nothing personality, she would also be the type who prefers completed fics over ongoing ones, since she would lose track of where she is and just wants to binge through it all.
She's definitely the type that is picky and wouldn't be the type to review or leave comments, except to point out spelling mistakes or when things are scientifically impossible :p
You didn't ask this, but in a scenario where fanfic was readily available, I like PYP!Law would like to read time-travel and pirate!AU fics :D He would leave long reviews in the same manner and format that a professor may leave commentary on a thesis paper.
hi!! i love this fic sm and im so excited to see more badassery from lami (as well as some more angst... i know its coming......) but im also super excited to see how lami handles "normal" life after all of her time with doffy. so much of her life has been dedicated to trying to get her and law to survive that the milestones and experiences kids usually get were tossed by the wayside. like, i wonder how she'd react to genuine friendships or a relatively quiet and peaceful life or even someone expressing romantic interest in her. it'd likely all be so foreign to her atp considering the last time she would've experienced that was either in flevance or in her previous life. anyway, that's just my babbling, roundabout way of telling u i love ur fic and i can't wait to see where u take the story next!! :3
Not to be dramatic, but I am ACHING for the moment when I can finally throw Lami into normalcy!! All the things you have mentioned.... friendships.. awkward crushes... grocery orders... gently pats... I want them so bad....
Curses to the many writing blocks in my way!!
(IMO, this yearning on my behalf is 89% of the reason why I started writing my story, fractured lines. Yūho, the OC in that fic, is all about enjoying the quiet, mundane moments in life in a way that Lami cannot afford to do.)
Anyway, thank you so much for reading! I am very very happy to hear that you have enjoyed the fic so far and that you are already thinking ahead to (hopefully) brighter, happier days for our feral asshole of a main character haha. It will ABSOLUTELY be unfamiliar and foreign to her and Lami is going to hate it and she is going to hate loving it. Even in the "peaceful" years at Flevance, Lami's mind was spoiled by the paranoia and grief of the knowledge of the future--it'll be strange for her to not have to really worry about anything.
(she will not like it
she will overcompensate for the things that are missin--)
