serendipity ❀ reiji
Friendly annoying, unfortunately, does not work well with Reiji. In fact, it was a little more likely to fail depending on what the opposing individual intended on getting out of him. In this case, a trip to procure sweets from the restaurant, albeit the introduction was crass, very much so.
The vague feeling of mockery washes over the vampire’s figure, sanguines casting a low gaze upon the small God. Annoyance still pushes into the back of Reiji’s throat, threatening to throw out from his lips a barrage of harsh vocabulary. Nevertheless he is quick to swallow those bubbling urges back down. It would be better this way. Better for him not to indulge in activity which could lead to him being far more hated than he already is. Under normal circumstances the vampire could not care less for his own reputations, however, a strong enough dislike towards him could encourage grave results to occur. Survival was the game here. He has been surviving for nearly an entire year, now, and he does not intend to surrender.
"I will let that snide remark slide for now, Goddess." His own snide remarks are thrown down in a simple statement. "A simple invitation would have sufficed— instead, you acted as a child and shoved me in a particular direction without so much as allowing me the privilege of saying yes or no.” A sigh. Ah, he’s repeated himself without realizing it. Another pause ensues before Reiji finally speaks up once more. "Are the desserts fresh?" No way is he eating pre-packaged cakes.
Oh, that was a shame! Not that she did want to hear Reiji spit harmful words at her, but it would be amusing in its own way. Words were never something that easily hurt her; she was quite strong willed, thank you very much. However, even God had weaknesses, even certain words, if used well, could destroy her. She, and he, knew that more than well. Even one of the most powerful beings in the universe could be thrown off by anxiety, by the fear of never being good enough, of failing and falling. Even God.
That was not the time, though. Reiji had been, perhaps polite would be the correct word, when he avoided his oh so snide remark, and the Goddess figured that she, too, could try and be the kind of polite that would please him. Right right, next time she invites him for something (because there was going to be a next time, no way to run away from that), she would make sure to give him a choice to reject her -- which quite honestly would be the worst choice to make, he would only get a begging Etihw as response.
"Now that you mention it, I don't think so. There's no one in the restaurant to prepare them." And yet the place was always so full of food. At least they could cook something themselves, but isn't the kitchen for that? However that place worked. "You're gonna leave if I say we have to cook them ourselves, aren't you? Nope, no way. Had to listen you complain, now you're going with me. I can cook them for you myself. You can just sit and wait." And now that she thinks about it...
"You are my guest! Couldn't possibly have you help me cook, right? I do have some manners, y'know. Promise I won't poison the food." Not like Reiji trusts her but hey, how could she even do such thing to such delicious desert?
