i am a big fan of simon becoming friends with rocky first before he becomes friends with grace. or rather, simon trusts rocky first before he trusts grace.

both simon and grace have severe trust issues. we know this. so it makes sense that they would be wary of each other at first. sure, they're probably glad to see another living human being, but of course they're gonna keep their guards up just in case.

and rocky, naturally, is excited that there's another human around. because he's a scientist! he loves humans and earth! he wants to learn more about them! but it quickly becomes evident that simon is not like grace. simon is much more guarded and traumatized. but rocky, being the ever curious and supportive sweetheart that he is, tries to mimic and adapt to simon's behavior to be able to learn more about him and befriend him.

i love the image of simon sitting on the beach on erid watching as rocky plays around in the waves. it showcases rocky himself and the ocean as nonthreatening, allowing simon the opportunity to start healing slowly from his trauma of oceans and the fact that his first nonhuman contact was with a cosmic horror eel. rocky hops out of the water and comes over to sit next to simon, but respectfully keeps his distance. but the more they converse, the closer rocky moves, until he is sitting right next to simon. simon finds it easier to look and talk with rocky because rocky doesn't have traditional eyes. even though rocky can 'see' him, simon doesn't feel like rocky is staring directly into his soul every time he looks at him. it's a step in the right direction of building trust between them.

i also love the image of rocky showing simon the trees that the eridians made for grace's biodome and that being what brings rocky and simon together and allows simon to open up more and talk about eden.

(there's also a possible joke to be made that rocky says that grace is no longer the bravest human he has ever met and grace would definitely agree after hearing simon's story lol)

grace watches fondly from afar because he knows firsthand what it's like to be alone and what it's like to be befriended by rocky. grace is glad to see rocky extend the same kindness to simon as rocky did to him.

simon probably asks questions about grace to rocky, and rocky answers them, but also suggests for simon to talk to grace himself.

rocky is what eventually brings simon and grace together. rocky is their literal and metaphorical rock that keeps them grounded. until both simon and grace grow to trust one another and realize that there are still some good and trustworthy humans out there in the universe.

THERE ARE DOZENS OF REASONS BUT--

--I think the most obvious example is in day2 IF Harlequin bites your neck and IF you refuse Pierrot to cover the menace's bite with his own.

In most yandere stories/games, whenever MC refuses them they either IMMEDIATELY change their mind (and force MC to do what THEY want to do) or blame MC for not being compliant. They often will treat MC as a child in a grimm fairytale saying: "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU, BUT I DO!"

Pierrot however?

He blames HARLEQUIN, when you refuse him.

Not you.

That is already a HUGE difference from most yandere games, where WE are blamed for not meeting the YANDERE'S specific vision he has of us in his head. Instead of US being wrong, it must be someone else's influence. Pierrot often (but not always) sees our defiance as a learning opportunity to get to know us better, which, unlike most yanderes, implies he can GROW from his obsessive behavior.

Additionally, Pierrot is one of the ONLY yandere characters I've ever seen that when he says he won't hurt you---I ACTUALLY BELIEVE HIM.

Most yanderes will act the doormat (especially if they think that's what you're into)---they'll always say "i would never hurt you' but then immediately cut off one of your limbs to make sure you don't run. Pierrot??? Nope. I don't think he'd EVER cut off one of our limbs. The only thing that might drive him to such a deep end is if he has truly lost his grip on reality---like he won't even recognize his circus family bad.

Otherwise?

Nah....

Does he drug us? Chain us to the bed? Sure.

But he's not holding a chainsaw or threatening us if we're '''''bad''''' or don't act in the way HE sees us. It's very interesting to finally not have a yandere go to these extremities for once---refreshing tbh.

So, with Project Hail Mary we looked at the words "you don't even have a dog" and decided that we would give this man a whole family instead and used multiple crossovers to do it. Ie. Coltland Gentry & Bloodymary.

Given this information, I think we should find a way to drop this man in front of Xaviers Institute for Gifted Youngsters. Preferably with Simon and Rocky in tow. Adrian too if we're really having fun with it.

You CANNOT tell me that Dr. -I teacher so well that I do it on a different planet- wouldn't be perfect for a group of preteens/teenagers who are getting powers they can't quite control with emotions that they are struggling to understand

Like. Here's someone who's been through a lot and after all of that, all he really wanted to do was teach. And the kids do have people who rely on them but a lot of the adults in the X-mansion are kinda larger than life heroes and some aren't even around all the time. And depending on how they end up at the mansion Grace might just be some random fuckin guy to them. Like he'd be a reliable adult but it's easier to cry next to an average person than a pillar of a community

Let Rocky and Grace do big science with Beast, they would have to be dragged away from a lab. I think Adrian would love talking to Storm for the sole reason of Adrian was part of the Biodome team. I think if Simon were involved, he would probably get along with wolverine.
