These small golden pieces, also known as Tesserae, are individual tiles mainly used in religious images depicting divinity, power and status. They’re made of a gold leaf, which is placed between 2 pieces of glass. This allows the light to hit the golden surface and bounce off of it. Since they aren’t perfectly aligned, the light isn’t reflected evenly. It’s more of a series of individual sparks; hence, making the light feel alive. :: I plan to use these Tesserae, as well as their visual-conceptual association, as a central element in my VOTIVE pieces. With said pieces and your collaboration, I intend to create an installation regarding not only the cult, be it a deity or an artist, but also the support of the community as a sort of congregation. :: 🔥💀🔥 ____________ @fidel.artista ____________ Estas pequeñas piezas doradas, también conocidas como Teselas (Tesserae), son mosaicos individuales que se utilizan principalmente en imágenes religiosas y que representan divinidad, poder y estatus. Están hechos de una hoja de pan de oro, la cual se coloca entre 2 piezas de vidrio. Esto permite que la luz incida sobre la superficie dorada y rebote en ella. Como no están perfectamente alineados, la luz no se refleja de manera uniforme. Es más como una serie de chispas individuales; por lo tanto, hacer que la luz se sienta viva. :: Planeo utilizar estas Teselas, así como su asociación visual-conceptual, como elemento central en mis piezas VOTIVAS.
