be healthy, be happy :)
āYou donāt have to be the leanest girl in the gym, anyone can diet and get super lean only some have the drive to get strongā ššŖš½ ⢠⢠Talking to people at my new gym is so inspiring. Someone told me that today while coaching me through some new super tough arm moves! šš»āāļø It really made me think as iāve always been so paranoid about not sticking 100% on track or bulking incase I got alot bigger or āfatā in my eyes but hearing this really affirmed why I go to the gym and why I love the gym: to get strong! To get so strong and healthy and I love lifting I enjoy it and it makes me happy and as he said you can always lose and get leaner for a holiday or event it takes dedication to get stronger! ⢠⢠I hope youāve all smashed your Tuesdays š ⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠#fitnessblog #fitnessblogger #fitnesstips #fitnesstip #fitness #fitnessmotivation #nutrition #nutritionblog #nutritionblogger #healthyfood #healthyeating #healthylifestyle #l4l #f4f #inspiration #motivation #bodypositive #myfitnessjourney #transformation #phsiqueupdate #fitnessjourney #recovery (at York) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn4HBhdhmtg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=lawi5kvdqvf0
Letās be real
How to pump yourself up for a workout you donāt wanna do
Usually Iām working out after an 8 hour day of work/class and sometimes I am just NOT feeling it. But consistency is key and exercise is important!!! So I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get my booty to the gym (so I can grow that booty)
1. Drink water. Hydration is everything!! And sometimes all you need is a big ol bottle of ice water to wake you up and make you feel super refreshed.
2. Splash water on your face. Sometimes Iāll just splash some cold water on my face to invigorate me, so simple but so effective.
3. Have a snack. Preferably some carbs and protein. I like almonds and orange slices, crackers and hummus, banana and almond butter, and my current fav, whole wheat bread with half an avocado, sea salt, and EVOO. Droooling.
4. Do a quick warm up. Sometimes Iāll do some basic calisthenics just to remind my body how good it feels to move. A few minutes of jumping jacks, burpees, or squat jumps can really wake you up and do wonders for your energy levels.
5. Update your playlist. New music always gets me so jazzed to workout!! Spend a few minutes downloading some new jams to get you real hype to go hard at the gym.
6. Have some caffeine. A lot of studies have shown that caffeine before a workout can be really effective. I like to have a cup of green tea, my friends do espresso shots, whatever works for you!! (Dark chocolate works great as well)
7. Remind yourself why youāre working out. Most of us have fitness goals whether thatās running faster, lifting stronger, losing weight, or looking hot in a bikini (or maybe all of the above!!!). Spending a couple minutes meditating on your goal before a workout can really bring about some powerful feelings of intention and focus.
8. Get a workout buddy. Working out with someone and having a schedule really holds you accountable. Itās easier to let yourself down and not go to the gym than to let your friend down and not show up, you know.
9. Do an at home workout instead. Thereās soooo many awesome videos out there on the internet so if you really donāt want to go to the gym, you can easily find a killer workout video of your choice on the web.
10. Take a warm up walk outside. Fresh air and nature are really quite powerful. When Iām feeling sleepy, I find that just being outside and breathing in fresh air for a few minutes really does wake me up and make me feel more energized for my work out.
11. And of course, take a rest day and listen to your body. If youāve been going hard for weeks and youāre feeling tired, just take a day off and donāt beat yourself up over it!!!! The gym will always be there tomorrow and your body will be grateful for the break.

Guess whoās back, back again?
2012 was the year my blog came to life. Not only did it give me a purpose but it also gave me motivation to do what I was supposed to do. My teenage self was obsessed with One Direction and Fitness so I thought,
āWhy not create a fitness blog for One Direction fans?ā
I know it sounds silly and Iām laughing just thinking about the idea now that Iām 22. But I donāt regret what I did, not one bit. The idea actually worked really well. My blog boosted up to almost 4,000 followers before I stopped logging on for good. I met some amazing people online, some I met in real life.
This blog and its followers helped me go from an overweight 16 year old to a happy, really fit and confident 17 year old. I lost 22 pounds! I was sharing my love for fitness and self love on this blog and I couldnāt have it any other way.
Fast forward to 2018: oh gosh, my head hurts from wailing. Iām a not so happy, definitely not fit and very self-conscious 22 year old. I stopped logging onto Tumblr because I was so ashamed of seeing my Following on my dashboard as they were losing the weight and getting fitter each time. Because I stopped posting, I lost almost half my following.
I started gaining weight when I started hanging out with new friends and socialising. I took up smoking at 19, drinking non stop, and thinking that I can eat whatever I want because hey, if I can lose 10kg, I can do it again! Then I got a boyfriend and moved in with him. My man can eat 3 meals in 1 meal and still be hungry after that. He used to hit me with the āIām not eating unless you eatā and that took a toll on my body. I used to be really dependent on him until shit happened which made me live by myself for 10 months... but thatās another story.
My goal weight back then was 75kg/165lbs and I hit it. Now Iām *deep breath* 97kg/213lbs. I would cry but Iām not as self loathing as I should be. Iām making this change again because I truly love my body. I went for a check up recently and they told me I had high cholesterol. At 22, that shouldnāt even be a thing I should be looking at!
My bf and I are trying to lose weight now and get fit. I have slowed down smoking drastically from my 10-15 a day to 1-2 a day. I smoke at night when I get home, so I can breathe during the day. Iām working on quitting completely.
Iāll be tracking my progress as I go on this blog because as I log on, motivation is staring me right in the face.
Hereās a before and after photo of me:
Left: 75kg / Right: 97kg
Literally taken the balls I donāt have to post this pic. Anyway, if you guys have any questions, feel free to ask. I decided to share this with you as I am starting my journey over again. I still have the basic knowledge about health and fitness so it will help me a lot.
Til next time.
