Do you have any idea what Rick's next project is? I mean after the third TOA book? What's his next series?

okay so here’s what i know! trials of apollo is gonna be a five-book series, so we’ve got another three to look forward to. after that, there are a few side projects lined up for rick (i.e. a companion Kane Chronicles “magician’s manual” book) but beyond that, we don’t know yet what the next project written by rick personally will be!

however! we do know that “read riordan” is a new project headed by rick where he will sponsor/promote/publish similar mythology-based young reader books from a wide variety of authors! the first one up is a book called “Aru Shah and the End of Time” by Roshani Chokshi about a young girl who accidentally releases an ancient Hindu demon and has to fix it before the world is destroyed. it’s classic Riordan (plucky young protagonist, modernized ancient myths, adventures to save the world) but written by a lesser-known author who is actually Indian herself! so that will be really cool! there will be a lot of similar series published by Rick’s publishing imprint. so lots of great things to look forward to!!!!

my understanding is that it’s as good as canon, though rick doesn’t specify definitively! but he kisses alex when she’s female and when he’s male and is ecstatic about both & that seems pretty pan to me!! bi magnus is also good and doesn’t conflict canon!

Hello yes, I gotta ask you, do you truly believe that, with all the events of SotD that fierrochase is canon? Like YES Alex's fondest(?) memory was about Magnus. YES they kissed and whatnot but the ending made me feel empty kinda? Like I was expecting more than a "eh" and them holding hands. I dunno it's more canon than Blitzstone like you said.

i believe so!! i personally liked how they weren’t singing love songs to each other and going all romeo and juliet after one or two kisses - like i know a lot of people didn’t like that with s0langel0, it took about two conversations for them to be In Love and some people were like dude, rick, let’s be realistic? and i think alex being sorta “eh” about their kiss is more him being his flirty, teasing self than actually being mean to magnus! but overall i was really happy with the way it ended! like sure i could have used more sappy stuff, but this felt really appropriate to their personalities plus now they have the rest of eternity to spend falling even more in love AAAAA

hey.... I only really read rick’s books if Percy is in them. I have the third book, and is he in there besides, like, the first chapter? My sister would like to read it and I’m wondering if I should just let her, or finish it myself first.

he’s only in the first two or so chapters and is mentioned in the rest but not present but all the same i highly encourage you to read it anyway, percy might not be the main character but instead it’s a beautifully crafted story with dynamic and original characters including a pansexual protagonist, a trans & genderfluid character, two black characters, a deaf character, and a muslim character and to me that’s more worth reading about than the same dude who’s been starring in rick’s books for the past 12 years but that’s just my onion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i can’t stop thinking about how well and truly whipped magnus chase is for alex fierro. that boy legitimately loves her more than i thought possible for someone to love another person. literally every time alex pays a second of attention to him or gives him something vaguely resembling a compliment magnus literally just melts into a puddle of hearts and sparkles and rainbows and i’m so weak!
