Clyde sighs, looking down at the young demon, his brow furrowed. Teens these days seem to be getting angrier and angrier.

tom had to physically restrain himself from going over to the other and shoving him in the chest to show that he didn’t need to talk to anyone, that he just needed to be left alone.

lips pulled back from sharpened canines in a snarl he didn’t even realize he was expressing, and somewhere in the distance a park swing caught on fire ‘spontaneously’. he clenched his fists and leaned his head back, trying to control his rapid breathing. in, and out. in, and out ...

“ i don’t know who you think you are, talking to a prince like he’s some sort of child ; but i am perfectly capable of handling myself. if anyone is in any sort of danger here, it would be you. ” he ran a hand through pink locks, eyes lighting up the night in anger.

“ im perfectly safe. and i was fine being by myself. what about you — what are you doing out here so late at night, huh ? who’s to say you aren’t up to something ? ”

the hug — and his laugh that bubbled forth because of it — took him off guard ; though that isn’t to say that it wasn’t welcomed.

‘ star .. i can’t breathe. ’ tom choked out, a smile dancing across his lips. ‘ i love you, too. && id like to live long enough to tell you that. ’

the breath that had been caught off left his mouth in a rush. still, he couldn’t hide the smile adorned on his lips as he held star in a close — but loose — hug.

“ wait, star — ” whatever tom was about to say got caught in his throat upon the multitude of kisses everywhere. part of him wanted to take a hand and swipe at the sticky lip gloss that was smearing across his cheeks ; but a bigger part of him was happy to feel her soft lips on his face and he enjoyed the artificial fruity scent.

when she was finished, the demon prince was left was a dumb grin on his face, but he rolled his eyes in an attempt to hide the fact that he was blushing.

“ starship, i told you i don’t need anything. this present isn’t going to try and eat me alive, is it ? just spending time with you is enough. ”

        All that Tom got in response towards analyzing him was a mere shrug of his shoulders. Lips curl into an amused smirk; he could DEFINITELY sense some hidden anger wanting to be unleashed building up inside of the prince. “Some things just never truly change, Mr. Lucitor.” He gestured to a spare log. “Sit. Or stand, I don’t really care either way." 

Tail flicks to the side, the former prince merely studying the demon. He already knows where his anger is coming from. It always has to deal with the Butterfly’s. "Something, or should I say some ONE has you upset, I take it. I believe we can help one another.” Brow perks high while he waits to gauge the other’s reaction.  

“That is, if you’re up to the challenge. To prove yourself worthy, get rid of all that annoyingly pent up frustration ~ ”

“ im just fine where i am, thanks. ” tom responded defiantly. he crossed his arms over his chest and continued to stand, as if that really meant anything — like being on his legs instead of sitting was going to make him stronger, somehow. more brave.

he blatantly ignored toffee’s remark of ‘ some things never changing ’. the demon prince has changed a lot, and that was something he was honestly proud of. he’s come so far — his parents and his life coaches all said so. he was getting a better handle on his temper, he was becoming more open and understanding and .. why was this lizard making him second guess himself ? tom’s fists clenched painfully at his sides.

this man was a threat. tom knew that, he recalled everyone’s fear and trepidation about the olders arrival. he was not one to be taken lightly. so, with all of this considered ; what did he want with the prince of the underworld ?

tom was about to ponder this further, until — of course — toffee pulled the cause of his anger from his chest with delicate yet deliberate claws. his jaw slackened as if he was about to say something in return, but he quickly closed it. felt the words on his tongue. pulled his lips away from his teeth in frustration. started again.

“ you have no clue what you’re even talking about. i want nothing to do with you. no deals, no proving myself. you should have stayed gone. and leave star out of this. ” his glared. “ what’s your angle, anyway ? i don’t have anything you could want. ”
