there's nothing i love more than immediately being told the vibes! please allow me to present my current generic feelings about all 32 teams*

*longer explanations of some tier names in tags

let's be honest though, i've probably thrown something positive about someone on each of these teams on the blog at least once! and my dislike of other teams having dynasties does mean this list sometimes gets tossed out the window during playoffs 🫶🏼

general housekeeping things:

#first of all we're not talking about how many tiers this has grown to include ok? ok.#'fond of' acknowledging that it is a VERY unfortunate group of teams in terms of recent events so just to clarify NOT THOSE GUYS #'nice things' as in i genuinely want you to have good seasons and good games when you aren't playing my teams #'middle child' is not about the oilers. it is about connor mcdavid... yeah idk it happened and it'll probably end when he breaks his curse #'mostly neutral' as in i really don't think about these teams unless they're playing/about to play my teams #'birthright haterism' as in i physically Cannot want your team to win games but i do sometimes enjoy your guys #<- mostly stems from just. generic sports pain inflicted on me by other franchises in these cities but also sometimes these teams #'it's complicated' as in i might like a player or 2 but there are other bigger org/fan behavior things that make me not want to touch you #'dislike' as in just pure irrational beef with these teams #'burn in hell' as in believe women and burn hockey culture to the ground #last updated feb 22 2026 #anyway this has been the season of realizing i have. a lot of divisional beef within the metro lmaooooo #regular season pinned

#it's not any of these but i bought a kj13 rookie card off ebay a few weeks ago and it is now one of my favorite cards i own #kj #cbj

i'm actually kind of mind blown at the vote distribution here though? like i was expecting it to be a much closer margin between all 3 finalists this year so even the ~400 and ~500 point gaps in the top 3 feels insane to me, but looking at voting from the last few seasons this was still a way tighter race all the way down the board crazy how math works!! anyway super fun and exciting to me seeing 4/5 never won it before names in the top 5 this year :)

nhl goalie problems: like 3 teams have a legit great goalie. league sv% below .900 for the first time in a william years. every goalie streaky and prone to suddenly throwing a series.

pwhl goalie problems: every team has three goalies who should be starters. worst GAA in the league would be middle of the pack in the nhl. nobody can score a fucking goal bc they're all brick walls.
