“Goodness, this place sure is lively for a prison.” His blunt words do not match the fond exasperation on Suo’s face at all. “I should be glad to find other people my age in here, but doesn’t that mean they aren’t above kidnapping teenagers?”
And sure, if he actually had a chance to fend off his attackers Suo would at least put up a good resistance — but it all pretty much happened in an instant. A shame. If he got the chance, he could have at least made sure that the perpetrators would get some broken bones.
“Do you know if we’re still supposed to go to school? Or are we forced to pretend child labor laws don’t exist?”

"can't really argue with that. i do believe that everyone here is trying to make the most out of it." she shrugs, technically he isn't wrong. being torn away from everything you've known, it might as well be categorized as kidnapping. "it is a huge relief to know that there are others here that are my age! i've met some real weirdos, it drives me insane sometimes."
aoko sometimes wonders if alice or soujuurou are holding up well. she's more worried about that dunce than her roommate, poor guy probably doesn't even know what to do in that kind of situation.
"that's a great question and all, but are you really asking about school? i'm sure that would be the last thing on your mind," then again aoko could be judging a book by its cover here. he didn't really look like the studious type, if aoko had to guess...he was probably a delinquent. "but to answer your question, no i don't believe there is a school that we attend to."
🔴-- Weakened as they were, Arcueid didn't have anything to base this girl's identity on. She might have realized she was the Blue with a show of force, but that just wasn't going to happen with the two of them in their present states. "Oh yeah? 2014. What about you?" There wasn't really any harm in offering the year. If the mage was even telling the truth. The vampire herself could have easily lied herself, and she was interested to see if she'd be met with the same skepticism.
"A vege...? I still eat normal food, you know." Was she not aware that True Ancestors could eat regular dishes, or was it just bias feeding her stereotypes?
"You're lumping True Ancestors and Dead Apostles into the same category. Which is rude by the way. Dead Apostles require blood, but I don't!" It was just highly addictive and she had to use a lot of her power to suppress the cravings, which wasn't very practical.
2014? damn, that is well into the future...though then again when you have an island of people from different worlds and time frames, this was bound to happen. "it's the late 1980's, from what it sounds like...people know who i am. must have made a pretty big name of myself in the future." though it could possibly be that aozaki is a bit of a household name, especially when it comes to touko. being the oldest in the family and having one of the best magical circuits in the world.
aoko can admit to herself that there was a bit personal bias, "hmm, so vampires can eat normal food."
"fine, fine! i'm sorry to have offended you, but i don't think you should blame me for that. it's not like dead apostle's and true ancestor's are known as peacekeepers, y'know?" aoko can somewhat understand, in a way. many students at her school have labeled her as untouchable and unapproachable, it was a bit irritating when she thinks about it.
Smug was really the one thing Hanako was unfortunately good at, among other talents which do not has any use to anyone! Even if he had meant to scare her, perhaps, it wasn't… purposefully done well! She was too quick and noticed anyways!
"Of course, of course! I'm eternally grateful for your kindness, for sure! Who could ever deny that!" Now, he could always slip away from the scene, but that would make him seem a tad more guiltier than usual. So remained, airily, perhaps at the behest of Aoko.
"Eh~ About that, who said I wasn't a girl, anyways? I could be both ya know? But, in truth, rumors are rumors, as much as urban legends are not infallible! Word on the street can change from one person to another - as much as a name can just be name! It's about whether you believe it or not!"
well, whatever. at this point arguing was going to get aoko nowhere, clearly this kid knew what he did was wrong and isn't taking responsibility for it. normal kid things i suppose, can't deny that i was like that as well.
at this point any sort of irritation that she was feeling dissipated, yelling at a kid (even if he is a ghost) doesn't make her feel any better. "how about this, i'll be the bigger person and just let this go. even if you are a ghost, you are a child and there is no reason for me taking my anger out on you."
"do these urban legends evolve in some way?" this is the first time aoko had heard of something like this. sure...stories do evolve depending on the person who is retelling it, hell even history is like that. but somehow urban legends changing seems far-fetched to her.

After a great deal of exploring and teleporting from ward to ward ⎛ something that left Wilnas far more drained than he'd ever felt in his existence- a testament to his new humanity ⎠he'd come to the conclusion that no, he was not in any skydom he could name, and quite frankly, he wasn't in the sky at all. How long had it been since anyone had lived on the ground?
Some things were even beyond the knowledge of the Six Dragons- not that Wilnas had any ability to tap into that- he had found that he wasn't even able to create a small flame since truly waking up. Most of what had set him apart from the real humans around him had been taken away, and as startling as it was, it also felt like a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
He'd lamented over the fact that he'd only ever know a pale imitation of mortality, but that had certainly changed. The real task now was to learn properly.
He'd approached a number of people, some of them told him about human jobs, some gave advice on other mundane things, and some were simply baffled that he was asking those sorts of questions in the first place. Having bid farewell to another ⎛ very confused? likely startled ⎠ mortal, Wilnas turned his attention to @fifthmagician, who just happened to be the next human ⎛ so he assumed ⎠ in his line of sight.

He's never seen a place like this. Covered in metals and bursting with life- with more merchants than he could imagine seeing in one place. Also, that beach! Wilnas had never been to a beach, not really- not like this, which was what made this ward so fascinating! ⎛ Really, though, everything was fascinating in Spirale- at least in his eyes. Full of mortal things to learn and to do and ... ⎠

the young magus was just wandering really, since there was no school duties to attend to there was a lot of free time she had accumulated. aoko could be practicing her magecraft, but with the stars limiting her abilities it had been almost impossible. maybe she should try looking for a part-time job to cure her boredom.
the golden ward had a shopping area and maybe one of the shops was hiring someone part-time. since the young mage was in the area, getting to pearl street wasn't going to be a massive undertaking for her. of course before she was on her way, aoko was stopped by a booming voice.
"holy shi-" stopping herself while looking to the tall figure in front of her. "has anyone ever told you how loud you are!?" okay that was a little rude, but she really needed to give him a piece of her mind. this guy could be from the same place that nier is from, he certainly has the aura about him.
aoko gives him a look over one more time, he looks human? of course he is dressed sort of oddly...but everything else seemed human. she probably looks incredibly confused to the taller man in front of her. "i haven't been here long myself, so i can't say i have found something i enjoyed right now." actually it was because she hasn't explored everything yet.
"i guess you could follow me, i was planning on heading towards pearl street. i was on my way to possibly look for a job to pass the time."

"well if we are objectively speaking, why do you think that?" maybe her sister should be here actually.
romantic fantasies
🔴-- It almost felt refreshing to be regarded with this much caution by a stranger. Between Vlov and Shiki, she'd been bumping into people lately that seemed to treat her in ways she was unaccustomed but to very different extremes. This was the reaction of a mage who knew the threats a vampire posed. No, the threats that a True Ancestor proved.
"That's a good reaction. You must be from the same world as me."
"It's unwarranted, though. I don't consume human blood." If the mage was well versed in vampires then she'd know what that meant, and if not she might assume it was impossible. Arcueid just wanted to diffuse the situation. "Even if I did, my powers are weakened right now. It isn't like I'd attack anyone when I'm no better than a barking puppy."
the vampire looks almost relieved, maybe she had to explain what she was on several occasions. that actually sounds like a massive pain, aoko can feel some sort of empathy at least. still...the blond woman is still dangerous and she feels like she a has a duty to do something.
"to be honest, i've been meeting many people who came from my world. but what i've realized is that we are all from different periods in time." or at least that's the theory aoko has come up with, she can't really confirm or deny...but the way others react to her name is has been interesting for sure.
doesn't consume human blood? was that even possible for a true ancestor? "what...are you like a vegetarian or something? i've never heard of a vampire not consuming human blood." though, the blond does have a point. it's not like she could out right just attack aoko here, both of their abilities have been severely limited. "fine...i'll do my best to calm down, but that doesn't mean i won't be wary of you."
Well, to be fair, Hanako had no intention to scare her in the first place! Well, maybe that was an omission of truth of some kind…! Not that he's gonna admit that blatantly to her face, when she was that close to wacking him. No siree!
He was simply looking for places of interests that had rumors. Rumors was what interested him, so, that's what he was doing! Maybe he could come across a supernatural of some kind- but instead he found an older girl.
"Bleh! I wasn't even doing anything wrong! I'm just an innocent little ghost, who's just wandering here and there! What's the crime in that?" Time to amp up being infuriating as hell mode.
this kid is seeming very smug and it's really pissing her off. he definitively meant to scare her, oh how she wants to wipe that grind off his face. whatever, the damage has been done...that doesn't mean she can't be petty about this.
"well you should be grateful that my reaction was mild at best, others would actually hit you for it," why is she trying to babysit this kid? it almost reminds aoko of soujuurou in a way (maybe not the bratty ghost kid kind of way). "innocent my ass..."
"so tell me, when i was growing up hanako was described as a girl. is that suddenly not a thing now or did she pass off her thing to you?"
"It's fine, I wasn't really thinking about anything important... Just... daydreaming, I guess... I can't remember if I've ever seen a play, and Death doesn't either... So I guess it would be a new experience for both of us."
Nier spends much of her time in the city like this, merely wandering and thinking to herself. But although she walks without a companion, she's never really alone; Death is always with her, they're just not fond of revealing her presence in public.
"But that's not to say I'm not familiar... I've read some scripts, I've just never seen them performed... Then again, I don't know if the plays from my world would be the same as the ones here..."
More idle daydreaming, she muses. It's getting somewhat late, so perhaps she should surrender such thinking for now and return home. She's half-turned on her heel when the other girl speaks again, and makes an enticing offer. Nier turns back, eyes wide.
"Ah... Together...? That's... I'd really enjoy that. It's so nice to be able to spend time together, ehehehe... O-oh, wait, I... I don't know you."
It was such an entrancing idea that she'd nearly forgotten this was a complete stranger. So she bows her head and gives a small smile. "My name is Nier... It's very nice to meet you. You're interested in the theater too, then? I like reading stories, so watching them being acted out sounds interesting..."
death? was she talking about another person or...was it the actual action of dying. aoko is very curious about the girl, but she is worried if she asked about this "death" individual it might turn into a completely conversation. maybe once aoko gets to know the person in front of her, then she could ask.
"now it didn't even occur to me that we are from different worlds, i wonder if the plays would be super interesting!" maybe even more fun than the popular ones that are from her world. "ah well, we have plays that are written by super popular in history."
it made her happy, talking normally with someone about mundane things such as plays. not that she didn't have talks like this with alice...sometimes it was a little hard to keep a proper conversation with her roommates.
oh right, she never introduced herself, "i'm aozaki aoko! feel free to call me aoko though. it's very nice to meet you, i think we could be good friends!" she gives nier a warm smile. "let's see...i don't really have any sort of hobbies per say, but i like messing around with guitars if that counts."
"wow, the stars really like to bully all of us, huh?"

🔴-- What was it that the kids called them these days? Vibes? Arcueid got some very strange ones from this girl. She was a magus. there were no ifs, ands, or buts about it. But as a vampire she usually kept her distance from them. If she had been able to see her magecraft then she would have been able to identify her immediately considering the Blue's reputation.
But she hadn't.
"You seem awfully chipper despite talking to a True Ancestor. Was I wrong to assume you could discern that I was a vampire from the start?" Considering how much exposition she'd had to deliver to Shiki, it almost felt refreshing to talk to someone who she probably wouldn't have to deliver a speech to.
aoko noticed something off, she was unsure if it was the weather or the atmosphere. it was an almost immediate reaction, as a mage her senses were already heightened. the change in atmosphere might have something to do with the individual aoko has been staring at. was she a servant or...was she something scarier. her best option was to go up to the woman directly.
she started a casual conversation with the blond, even if it was out of the blue. taking a good look at her was the only way to confirm her suspicions. though of course...the other wasn't looking too impressed with her.
"hmph, i suppose i needed to verify whether you were. but since you confirmed it for me..." she won't admit that there was some hesitance, this true ancestor was too much like a normal human. of course that doesn't mean that aoko's guard wasn't up, this woman was dangerous. a wrong move and the other could use whatever strength she has and tear her apart. "i'm shocked though, that a true ancestor like yourself would be out so publicly."
As a magus, the reaction was perhaps more rational than continuing about as usual after crossing ways with a Heroic Spirit — the exception being in the range of a Holy Grail War. Certainly encountering a Servant beyond the battle lines fell outside expectations, and thus did Saber exhibit no reactive surprise in turn.
"It is fine. This should be an unusual scenario".
Chaldea and Spirale were hubs were what might be unfathomable in the minds of mages became reality, and those summoned became used to that extraordinary. but for someone new to either or both, it must be a bewildering concept.
"In fact, most Masters could say the same themselves — few engage with a Servant prior to summoning their own. Though it would seem you've not done so yourself".
so her reaction was something the servant deals with, this is probably an almost daily occurrence for her. hah...now she feels a little silly, of course this would happen. there must be several servants on this island then...hopefully aoko could meet them, but they might not be as friendly as this one.
"haha sorry then, my reaction must have been overkill huh?"
"well...my family wasn't too interested in the grail, but that doesn't mean i didn't learn about it." actually aoko doesn't even think through their history they have ever been in a holy grail war, it was more on perfecting their magecraft. "ah right, i'm aozaki aoko. you don't need to give me your true name if you don't want to...i know how valuable names are."
