🚨 Emergency pinch-hitters wanted! 🚨

We currently have seven (7) prompts in need of emergency pinch-hitting.

What is a pinch-hitter?

A pinch-hitter is a wonderful, kindhearted soul who volunteers to fill a prompt at the last minute after another participant has dropped out of a fest.

Who can be a pinch-hitter?

You can! And you can! And—basically anyone who wants to can, as long as you’re able to submit your work before the deadline below.

What are the minimum requirements for a pinch hit?

FANFIC: 500 words minimum (no max). Must be beta’d. FANART: One (1) completed piece. OTHER: Please contact the mods for info.

When do I need to have it done by?

The deadline for your completed work is 10 April. We know it’s a lot to ask on short notice, so we’re happy for you to create something based on a specific scene or idea from the prompt if necessary (provided it works as a stand-alone).

We will also check in with you on 1 April to see where you’re at with your fill. If you need an extension or have to drop out for any reason, you’ll need to let us know ASAP so that we can find another pinch-hitter if needed.

🚨IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!🚨

Hello Merlin fans!

We have received some unfortunate news that a few people who believe they signed up have not received their assignments. This appears to be because for some unknown reason Google Forms did not record their sign up, therefore we were not aware they had signed up when we were matching people for their assignments.

If you signed up for this years Camelot Remix fest and have NOT received an assignment email from us, please email us ASAP at [email protected] where we will ask you to complete the sign up information via email.

We are going to ask people to reach out to us by Friday 13th March. If you contact us after this date we will not be able to include you in this years fest, except in a pinch hitter role.

On Saturday 14th March we will look at the sign up information of everyone who has reached out to us and in the first instance, we will try and match you with each other. If this is not possible due to preferences, we may reach out to other people who have already received assignments, asking if they would be willing to switch out to a different person.

We hope to have everything resolved by the end of next weekend.

If you could help us out by giving this post a reblog to maximise the chances of people seeing this, we would be very grateful. Please also reach out to any friends you believe were planning to sign up to the fest to make sure they weren't affected.

Camelot Remix is back for 2026! But what’s a remix, you ask?

A remix is where a fanwork creator takes another person’s fanwork and creates a new fanwork which is based upon the original work.

How does this whole thing work?

Basically, you will be assigned someone who has also signed up for the fest and will be asked to remix one of their fanworks, and someone else will be asked to remix yours. We always do our best to match people with someone we think will be a good match, but of course, we can only match you up with people who sign up! Need more info? Hello, Merthur fans!

Round 2 of Merthur Glompfest claiming is NOW OPEN!

🚨 CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE PROMPT CLAIMING FORM. 🚨 

You have until 2pm PST / 5pm EST / 10pm GMT on 2 Feb 2026 to send us your top three (3) prompt selections. Remember, prompts will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you get your form in to us the better your chances of getting your top pick.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Google Forms will automatically send you a copy of your responses once your claiming form has been submitted. If you don’t receive this email, please check your junk/spam folder and get in touch with us ASAP so we can confirm your submission has been received.

Otherwise, please allow at least 24 hours before contacting us with queries about your claim. We will be working as quickly as we can to strike off claimed prompts and confirm selections with each Glomper, but we expect there will be some delay as we check time stamps and respond to those whose selections have already been claimed etc. The fewer messages we have to get through, the quicker things will be for everyone, so assuming you’ve received a copy of your responses, please sit tight until we get back to you!

What is WinterKnights?

WinterKnights is a BBC Merlin Fandom prompt-based fest for the winter holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Traditional Yule, Winter Solstice, or New Years celebrations are all welcome!

What are the requirements?

❄  All submissions must have a theme of winter and/or any holiday held during December ❄  Submissions can be any rating, any pairing/moresome, and any genre ❄  All content is allowed, providing it is properly warned for. ❄  Fic submissions must be at least 500 words long with no maximum word limit. We do not accept AI generated fics. ❄  Art can be any of the following: Traditional art (pencil, painting, digital etc.), photo manipulations, graphics or handmade crafts e.g Christmas tree ornaments. AI generated art is not accepted for this fest. We also welcome podfic, fanmixes, and more. If you have a question about what is allowed, please just ask! ❄ Can't think of an idea? Why not peruse our archive of prompts from over the years, either in gallery format or grid format to see if you can find any ideas that whet your appetite and get you in the holiday mood!

Yes, that's right Merlin fans, it's that time of year again! This year, we are celebrating 10 years of WinterKnights! So to get us all in the mood we are opening up for prompts today! There is a limit of 10 prompts per person. Other than that, please go wild! Leave your winter, holiday, or New Year’s prompts in via Airtable here! ❄️Please take a moment to check our Fest Guidelines before submitting your prompts. ❄️There are many different ways to prompt. Merlin Fans!!! -- Fandom Trumps Hate!!!

The 2025 Fandom Trumps Hate sign-ups are OPEN for digital creations (fic, art, podfic, fanvid, etc), fan labor (such as betaing) and physical creations (anything you can make) in the crafts bazaar!

Sign up HERE (digital & fan labor) or HERE (physical). Sign ups will close on Sunday, February 2nd!

If you're not familiar with FTH, it's an opportunity for folks to make donations to charity, and then to receive a custom fanwork or fan labor as a thanks for the donation. You can participate with literally any and all fandoms, including, of course, our own favorite Merlin!

After sign-ups close, there will be a browsing period and then a bidding period. Anyone interested in donating and receiving a fanwork as thanks will get to bid on specific creator's offerings. You'll bid the amount you're willing & able to donate. Once bidding is over, the highest bid wins and, after providing proof of the donation, they will be put in touch with the creator. Fanworks will be due by the end of 2025.

I've participated in 2 previous years (as SlantedKnitting) and will be offering up my services again this year! I'm also acting as a fandom ambassador, specifically for Merlin, so please reach out if you have ANY questions or want some encouragement to sign up!
