Seeing the dailies is so crazy. Like yes spuffy did fuck down a house in Smashed. But they cut her riding him. Yes they fuck in DMP, but some of the other takes are crazier. And yes they have sex in Dead Things but she bites and scratches him. We got so much and somehow there’s WAY more

What is this?

Schlocktober is a month-long writing and drawing event. It was established in 2025 as a response to a kink-free Kinktober calendar that became infamous for having way too many rules.

Its unconventional prompts and loose standards encourage creative freedom and reject morality policing in fandom spaces.

Why "schlock"?

It means trash/junk (affectionate), and that's the quality of content I'm striving for with these prompts. It's also fun to say.

But, y'know, if you want to take a prompt and turn it into a masterpiece of a whumpy longfic, go for it. That's creative freedom, baby.

What fandom is this for?

Schlocktober is fandom and ship neutral. At the time of posting, there are 218 different fandoms represented in previous works.

What if I want to combine prompts? What if I want to write or draw things out of order? What if I want to make a video? What if...

Go for it. Get weird. Do an interpretive dance. Mix in last year's prompts if you want to. Let the spirit of schlock move you.

What does [prompt] mean?

You tell me. It's all open to interpretation.

Is RPF okay?

Yes, so long as it's clearly fiction. See rule #3 below.

Just three.

No AI use. Having the plagiarism machine do your work for you is the opposite of creative. A typo-riddled mess is better than AI-written fanfiction. A stick figure drawn on the back of a napkin is better than soulless AI slop art. Believe in your own ability to produce trashy works.

Tag appropriately. 'Creator Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings' means anything goes. 'No Archive Warnings Apply' means your work is guaranteed not to contain any of the major archive warnings (non-con, major character death, graphic violence, or underage sex).

No irl bigotry or crimes. Your characters can be as problematic as you'd like, but if you try to post a weird pro-JK Rowling essay or threatening manifesto or something you're not going in the collection. Don't kill the vibes.

I just finished watching Buffy/Angel for the first time and after doing research, I found out about the comics. I'm curious if you could map out the order they need to be read, I think there's several different series going on and I haven't found anywhere that clearly shows the order. Also, where does one find previous issues? Is there somewhere online, maybe Kindle versions? And I also saw a book version of several issues. Is there any difference between it and the comics? Thanks so much!

Xena and featurettes (Google Drive links)

I've noticed there's a lot of newbies wanting to watch 'Xena: Warrior Princess' and I couldn't be happier about that as a veteran fan but they're having trouble finding the TV show to download or stream.

I have great news for you. I have the entire show on my Google Drive account available to download or stream. Your preference. The video files are ripped directly from the Anchor Bay DVD deluxe edition box sets - which are the definitive way of watching the show but the box sets are extremely hard and expensive to get in new condition as they've been out of print since 2005. In addition to the TV show itself, I have also ripped and uploaded the featurettes from the box sets - these include the cast/crew interviews and the commentaries as well as other behind-the-scenes footage - again, ripped directly from the box sets. You can waste your money paying for a monthly subscription to a service that don't even include all the episodes due to copyright legislation or you can just download or stream them from Google Drive.

At this point in time I really couldn't care less about piracy like I used to because preserving art/entertainment media the way it's supposed to be seen/heard/engaged with means more to me now. So it's up to you.

Also a quick suggestion: if you do happen to watch the end of the show titled 'A Friend In Need (Part 1)' and 'A Friend In Need (Part 2)', please do yourselves a favour and watch the DIRECTOR'S CUT that can be found in the featurettes folder. Both parts are combined together so it plays more like a movie and there is more scenes that explain things better. I won't say why this is important. You'll figure it out when you get there.

I'm just saying... if you truly want to watch the end - the director's cut.

I hate it when people act like Buffy is a saint and Spike is evil. So here’s my yap about Bangel and Spuffy and Buffy.

Angel defends Faith, who took Buffy’s body and slept with Riley (or offered to sleep with him, claiming he can do whatever he wants to her etc), while Buffy was not ready to forgive Faith and I don’t blame her for that, eventually she does forgive Faith for the sake of saving the world which too bites her in the ass. Angel also stalks teenage Buffy… Then, dates her, mind you he was an adult when turned… Dating a 16 year old (if i remember correctly she’s 16 in s1, but Angel stalks her before that). Then his moment of true happiness is sleeping with Buffy, he loses his soul and no longer loves Buffy, instead his goal is torment her like he did to Drusilla once.

And I hate to say that Buffy is a saint through their relationship. Not only is she a kid, but I cannot remember her hurting Angel. She only kills him because she has to, then when he’s back she’s patient and spends time with him. She isn’t bothered by him being a vampire or anything like that — he’s the one bothered by the fact that he won’t be able to give her kids or a normal life. Buffy is a kid at this point and doesn’t want those things, nor does she ever state to want them as an adult.

Then, we cut to Spike. First he wants to kill Buffy, but he’s a smart boy and knows when to be an ally and when to be an enemy. Spike never wants to hurt Joyce or Dawn. Even though he easily could. He falls for Buffy without a soul, he’s pathetic and chains her up, he’s evil and soulless and tried to rape her. Yes yes yes. His true moment of happiness isn’t the sex. It’s cuddles. He knows that a souls changes a vampire, that it torments to a degree (his torment was worse due to the first evil), still he goes to hell and back for his because he think that’s not only what Buffy wants but deserves.

I think a crucial element of the Spuffy dynamic is always left out of the conversation. AKA. the fact that Buffy is abusive. Yes, she’s depressed. Yes, he makes her feel things. Yes, she’s lost af. Still. She abuses and uses Spike to make herself feel better (and in the process falls in love because of how free she feels with him). She sleeps with him to feel something, feels bad due to her own decisions and then feels the need to punish herself and takes it out on him, either by shutting him off emotionally or (mostly) physically.

Another thing is that Spike lets her be this way. He knows she needs him to feel better, that at the end of the day the sex helps (even if he wants a connection) and that her beating him up is a manifestation of her anger at the world and herself and not him (maybe partially cause he keeps letting her do ts).

I think at the end of the day Buffy needs someone to keep up with her, to know what she needs and meet her there, sometimes she needs sex, sometimes she needs to slay a vamp and sometimes she needs to cuddle and cry or sit in silence. She needs someone she feels comfortable and free around, with Spike she has just that. He allows her to connect to her deepest darkest desires and overall that part of herself, while Angel stiffens it. Angel is very insecure about what he can and cannot give Buffy and he only loves her with a soul. Spike isn’t, in fact he lets Buffy decide what she wants for most part — with the exception that the deeper they go the more B pulls away and he tries to pull her back into that dynamic, because once she slips away he’s scared to lose his only thread of connection he has to Buffy, which results in Seeing Red (but that’s a topic for another post).

The point of this post was meant to be that people act as if Spike abused Buffy and Buffy didn’t abuse Spike. I think if we focus just on who’s the abuser then we can conclude there’s isn’t just one — PURELY BECAUSE THIS IS FICTION OK! NOT REAL LIFE. Technically they kick each other’s asses all the time, but it’s Buffy who comes back from the dead and uses Spike and then as their toxic dynamic collapses Spike tries to bring it back and tried to SA Buffy. But I feel like we can’t ignore the fact that they grow together. They’re very toxic, because of the season they get together in. Buffy is depressed and Spike is love’s bitch, Buffy needs their dynamic for most of season 6 to feel somewhat better and Spike is willing to take the scraps.

BUT THEY GROW. Most of their growth happens in season 7. Spike gets his soul. Buffy has to work with him and forgives him. They grow into a new dynamic. They talk more about their feelings, about meeting each other at the same point. The time away makes them grow but it doesn’t make them grow apart, instead it makes them grow into these better, healthier versions of themselves and that Spuffy still works together. Because Spike and Buffy at their core (as in who they are and what they need want etc) are a match.
