Some Garling x Magnolia headcanons

Disclaimer: This list is going to be mostly comprised of hcs that are from an alternate timeline i like to call 'what if garling chose god valley over mary geoise' but some could work for the canon timeline as well if you want to interpret it as pre-god valley incident

They love playing with each other's hair. Magnolia in particular likes to braid Garling's hair (sometimes braiding flowers into it)

Magnolia likes using the blond as a pillow when they sleep together

Not big on PDA, but engage in subtle acts of affection when in public (eg hand-holding, gentle touches etc etc)

Garling sometimes sings for the redhead, but doesn't do it often out of fear of embarrassment; Magnolia loves it every time he does and tries her best to encourage him

Their dates consist of: exploring God Valley, swimming in secluded pools (or the sea) and watching the wildlife

Magnolia does most of the cooking, while Garling brings home the ingredients from his foraging excursions (wild game, mushrooms, herbs, etc)

Garling's favourite spots to kiss the redhead are her cheek and forehead, while the other loves to kiss the blond on the temple and nose

Generally sleep in separate beds out of respect for each other's personal space, but Magnolia will sometimes to cuddle up to Garling when she's cold and/or can't sleep (the blond doesn't mind when she does)

Angsty Shanks Thoughts

I know this is going to sound completely out of pocket... but what if Shanks doesn't entirely hate his bio family?

While he certainly despises what they believe in and the very thing they stand for (the World Government), the redhead cannot deny the fact that, for a moment, he felt at home.

For as conditional as that fatherly love may have been, Garling was not afraid to say how proud he was of Shanks and his strength. Shamrock, who may only love a version of his brother that doesn't exist, was still worried about his well-being. Even before all that, his father had not turned him away when he showed up on the Holy Land's door, but instead welcomed him home with open arms, as if those years apart didn't matter, didn't show Shanks what kind of people the World Nobles are.

Maybe his love for lobster came from his time in Mary Geoise?

But he cannot bring himself to admit it, for in doing so, he would betray the men who'd raised him. The ones who also left him behind. And maybe he isn't quite ready to admit the full extent of the pain the Roger Pirates have caused him either...
