Fallen Down Once More (closed)
Those two words were what kept Frisk wandering through the Underground, taking the long journey to the fall site. 3 days ago, their friend, Zeraph, had left with the promise of being back in a day. But Frisk and Chara hadn’t seen her in 3 days.
Initially, Chara hadn’t though anything of it, and had told Frisk they were being silly when they admitted their concerns. Zeraph can handle herself, she probably just forgot to check in. Chara had scoffed.
But when the second day came and went without seeing her, Chara stopped reassuring Frisk, becoming rather silent. By the third day, Chara was encouraging Frisk’s idea.
Frisk wanted to go to the spot where all the humans had fallen to look for Zeraph. For reasons beyond Chara’s understanding, she was on edge at the thought of seeing the other girl. It made no sense, because Chara had been warming up to her. Like Frisk, she thought of Zeraph as a friend. Unlike Frisk, she didn’t go out of her way to show it. Not that she was really able to, not having a body of her own.
So, despite Chara’s unexplained looming dread, the children had set off that morning. Their walk had been silent, each of them keeping a blank mind and focusing on getting there quickly. Neither of them broke the silence for a while after they got there. Frisk stood at the entrance to the room for a few minutes, then took a deep breath and marched in.
The room was covered with tall, golden flowers. For a second, just a second, Chara could have sworn some of the flowers were red, but when Frisk blinked, it was clear that they were all gold. So… why did they look red?
The strange occurrence did nothing to settle Chara, and she grew impatient as Frisk wandered around the room. Frisk, let me look. I could cover the area faster.
Either Frisk wasn’t listening or they just didn’t care, but either way Chara wasn’t allowed control of their body. Grumbling, Chara watched through Frisk’s eyes as they gazed at the room before them.
