today i experimented with ira napping not in their room, bc traveling in the future etc. so i had them fall asleep in my bed. and at first they were too excited and didn’t want to sleep—they kept doing their little downward dog and saying yoga (“yoh-yah”) and just being silly generally—but then i pulled out this library book we got that they’re obsessed with. and it’s just about all the different kind of hugs a mom gives. and they crawled up to me and laid their head on my chest, and i read to them until they looked sleepy. then we just stared at the open book, until i started singing and they fell asleep. and we napped together. and ate takeout for lunch in my bed, watching a show and cuddling. and it was the best day of my life

something i find pretty comical is when people (primarily moderate socialists, non-ML communists and other vague groups of "leftists") say stuff like "everyone is a bit socialist on the inside!" "it's so easy to make someone a socialist, it's just having empathy" and reduce the "bar" to becoming a socialist to "has been taught that sharing is caring as an infant" which is. so funny. now like im not saying you can't simplify stuff and appeal to less scientific things to introduce someone to communism but this is such blatant "leftism is when good" that, if it works, will inevitably create a vibes-based nondescript leftist at best
