I just learned about a new comedy web series, Venus Flytrap, that you guys should all check out. “Venus Flytrap, created by Adele Bertai (The Contortions, The Bloods), follows an outrageous, all-female punk band (starring icons Margaret Cho, Lydia Lunch and Asia Argento) as they tackle the male-dominated music industry.”

GoFundMe for ZanaAfrica
ZanaAfrica helps female students in Africa receive menstrual supplies in order to continue their education. Countless young girls forgo weeks of school because of their menstrual cycles and often have nothing to use except rags that have been used for the periods multiple times before. $10 will allow for one girl to receive a kit that will take care of her menstrual supply needs for an entire year. Our feminist organization’s goal is just $2000, a small amount that will pay for 200 schoolgirls. Every girl has the right to an education.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. “Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
