Hi there. You can call me Bonez. I'm a big paleo nerd, but I also love fantasy- especially dragons -so I've been getting into the world of ASOIAF. I'm pretty laidback when it comes to roleplaying and writing, but here are just a few ground rules for engagement on this blog.

I am 27. I am highly uncomfortable with minors trying to engage with me or being anywhere near this blog given the content present in the series. There will be dark and triggering themes present that will for the most part not be tagged. If you need something tagged, please let me know.

I am very new to the world of ASOIAF. I have watched the first two seasons of HOTD, but I am rewatching them before I watch the third season. I am very rusty and need to rewatch GOT. I am reading the first book in the series at the moment.

I am not interested in shipping or smut for rather obvious reasons. These are dragons, and I will especially not be doing anything lewd with them with human muses.

I am highly AU, crossover and OC friendly. I love OCs with a passion, and I may even add a few of my own dragon OCs to this blog at some point.

I am mutuals only for my own comfort. I will only write with blogs that I am following, and in turn, follow me back. If I follow you, I would love to interact! If I do not get a follow-back in around a week, I will unfollow to keep my dash clean.

Due to the current state of my personal computer, I can no longer trim my posts and thus rely on my partners to trim them for me. I am still seeking means to resolve this.

My replies can vary in length depending on my level of muse. They can also be incredibly sporadic, given I have hobbies and a full time job that takes up most of time. It can range from multiple replies a day to once a week.

I tend to use icons on and off as I see fit for a thread.

I practice Mains, but not exclusives, as I love writing with multiple takes of the same character.

I'm not here for any sort of hate, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, AI bullshit and the like. If I see ANY of this on my dash, it is an instant block.

The takes on the dragons are MY personal takes on the dragons stemmed from my own headcanons. Please respect that.

the little thing speaks in tongues he has yet to fully understand. some noises she makes, some phrases stir something deep within him. some old memory of a life he's never had.

perhaps his mother, long ago, told him of these words. these things that once linked her kin to that of the little things. but that was long ago. so long that he can no longer remember her face, nor that of his siblings. he thinks he had...perhaps three others in his clutch.

he wonders where they are now, if only for a moment.

he grunts softly, preening at one of his crooked wings as he watches the little one out of the corner of his eye. the bond between them is still new, rough and jagged at the edges. it makes communication difficult but...he still attempts.

"hun....gry...?" he warbles through the bond, licking his uneven teeth as he ceases his useless attempt at self-care. "me...g...et sh...eep?"

her crest rises, fans out like a maiden's dress in the wind. moondancer circles once, twice. her pupils slit, the sign of a very alert dragon that has spotted something of note on a patrol.

"there is something here." she hums through their sacred bond, flowing like water- no, the sensation is something more akin to molten gold. a tether that shines as brightly as the sun at the highest point in the sky. a soothing sensation, even if the young dragon's words bring no comfort.

"it smells wrong."

she tucks her wings closer to her sides, turning her head ever so slightly to gaze at her rider. her partner. her other half.

"shall we investigate?"

I think it would be immensely engaging and add more to the plot if I write my dragons as able to speak to their bonded humans through some deep magic in their bond.

Only a bonded dragon / rider pair can understand one another as if speaking out loud.

That's going to be a new thing on my blog here.

SAANA.

saana is a massive, unclaimed and wild female dragon whom hails from faraway lands. she is spoken of in awed whispers when she visits dragonstone every few decades during her migration.

saana possesses thickly armored scales that are as white as freshly fallen snow. she has four massive, oynx horns in this shape and crimson eyes. her most telling feature is her "eyespots" on each of her wings- orange and red spots that resemble massive eyes akin to the wings of some insects that she uses to intimidate smaller dragons into submission.

she's a tad temperamental, but if she is to bond to a rider, she is endlessly loyal to them to her last breath.

the blood wyrm rises.

a serpentine neck slithers from the shadows, scales as red as a festering wound. and many a blood has been spilt by the great caraxes. crimson lips pull back, teeth like blades giving the impression of a grin. the will to fight always pulses through his veins, through every cell that makes up his titanic body.

"come to me." he says through their bond, almost as thick as familial blood. "i need to fly. i need to feel the wind and taste the tang of the air above."

the chill of the north seeps under his scales. burrows deep in his skin like some frigid parasite. the frilled membranes along the dorsal sides of his throat flare as he voices his discomfort.

dragons do not like cold. vermax does not like cold.

his tone is shrill, warbled. almost begging his bonded to turn back and bring them to a place that harbors more color, harbors more warmth. a taloned foot stamps once, twice, a child throwing a temper tantrum. it leaves a massive print within the pure white, one that will quickly be covered with the next snowfall.

a tree branch groans, bends under the pressure. with elaborate timing, it drops all its cold, wet contents onto the dragon's snout. he snorts, stumbles a little due to this attack by an unseen enemy. shakes his head like a panicked mutt, brushing nose against wing.

cold! much, much too cold!

again, he makes his displeasure known. he squawks loudly, nudging his cold snout against his bonded's shoulder with a bit more force than needed. perhaps if his dearest jacaerys lands face first in this repugnant cold, he'll understand that this is no place vermax wants to be.

touching down in winterfell had made jacaerys wish that he had sent luke to the north instead. thus far the vale and white harbor had been hospitable, cold enough to warrant a cloak and nothing that couldn't be cured by a warm hearth and hot chocolate. winterfell, however? jace felt as though his very bones were being frozen. he could only fathom how vermax was feeling. or he would have if his dragon wasn't as haughty and vocal about any sort of discomfort like his bonded.

unlike the prince, vermax wasn't afraid of letting his opinions or frustrations be known. the keepers deemed that vermax was both temperamental and irritable much to the annoyance of his rider. his dragon was merely of sophisticated sort whom was spoiled by the crown prince. one day vermax would transport the king of the seven kingdoms upon his saddle and deserved nothing but the best. jacaerys regretted that now. first impressions were everything and vermax was being everything but cordial while they waited outside of winterfell for the lord of the north to greet them.

jacaerys snorts when a dollop of snow falls upon his dragon's snout. "lykirĩ, vermax." he watches as the gate barring off the arched portal into the castle begins to open with a terrific groan. past the gate he can make out a massive figure who he assumes is cregan stark. jace looks himself over one last time, making sure he appears respectable before the dire wolf. with a nudge the prince is sent forward and into the snow. jacaerys lands face first into the powder, sending it flying up and around him. he lays there as still as a fallen tree, face burning hot with shame while the sound of boots crunching snow beneath them approaches.

without fear of vermax, cregan approaches the fallen prince so he might offer a hand for him to take. jace takes the man's large paw, smiling ruefully at the northern lord. "i had hoped to make your acquaintance in a much more dignified matter." jace laments, shooting a look back at vermax before cregan eases his grip off of the prince's much smaller hand. he dusts himself off as best he can with chittering teeth and trembling limbs. the pair exchange pleasantries while jace brushes off the snow that now littered his entirety. they decide that vermax must be sorted out first. cregan suggests the glass gardens as a temporary home for the beast, which jace quickly agrees to. it was heated, enclosed, and large enough for vermax to be comfortable.

inside of the gardens jace was permitted a moment of quiet beside his dragon. "that was a rotten trick you pulled." jace grumbles at vermax, scratching beneath his chin. the prince looks down, lost in thought before he opens his mouth to speak once more. "do you think i made a good first impression? if nothing else it was certainly memorable. though i cannot tell with lord stark. he hasn't shown me one ounce of emotion." vermax for better or worse was often subjected to jace's questions, ramblings, and thoughts. even if the dragon couldn't understand him it comforted the prince to confide in his beloved dragon.

a croon of pleasure slips from his throat, sings past his jagged teeth. ah, yes. even if that didn't force his dear rider to bring him to someplace warm, it did feel good to do. if dragon's had something akin to laughter, vermax would surely be doing such a thing in this moment.

his pupils slit, sizing up the man that approaches, that offers a hand to his bonded. it is a powerful thing, resisting to the urge to bare his teeth and snap at any who dare touch the one so deeply intertwined to himself. his tail lashes behind him, kicking up more plumes of snow; an action that only serves to make him more cold as it melts to ice water and slips between his scales.

his golden eyes scan the interior of the garden, his steps slow, cautious. this is a place he has never been before. alien in every sense of the word. but it is beautiful, vermax will admit, nudging a blooming plant with the edge of his snout.

fascinating, how such a powerful and dangerous creature could be so gentle.

he rumbles, his eyes fluttering shut at the gentle scratch beneath his chin. a sensation so pleasant that it almost makes his talons curl. he flicks his tongue out, smacking the prince squarely in the nose and granting him a generous dose of dragon spittle in the process.

he snorts a plume of steam into the air, part amused-part exasperated. he wraps a wing around the smaller, delicate human and pulls him close. flush against his chest, emitting a reassuring purr. he will be a possessive thing, certainly, not keen to share Jace's attention with another.

but if he is to be happy in the presence of this winter man, he will tolerate the cold for the time they are here.
