this week, my #tbt goes back to April 2012, and the first time i got to see @refusedfreedom, this time in San Francisco. this was the pinnacle of a killer life-altering vacation w/ @tedwinkworth, and included quality hangs w/ both @antmerola and @jenguyre. it wasn't just a good time with friends, and it wasn't just the first time seeing one of my favorite bands. this night changed the course of my entire life. as i sat outside after the show, awaiting the rest of my friends exiting the venue, the idea of what in fact was concluding and what was forthcoming hit me like a brick to the face. you see, i had just been laid off from my job that i did hate, sure, but i was living in NYC, i didn't have much direction, i didn't have any idea what to really do next, and i may have had a bit of a nervous breakdown. with confidence, i left this show hopeful that the universe would just show me what was next, and it certainly did. the adventure that i'll conclude in the spring with my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Syracuse University all started on this night, and i'll always look back to the events leading to this show and the unfolding of life following it, and reflect back to that change. no longer lacking the motion to move to the new beat.
