My new pretty - No one knows the symbolism behind this piece because I would rather keep it to myself (and Tumblr). Sooooooo... Firstly, the butterfly is a symbol of the thyroid - one of the reasons why I wanted it immediately. yay for Hashimoto Thyroiditis *cries* The second reason is that the Monarch butterfly is constantly migrating; it doesn’t have one place it calls home. Home to me is two places: Melbourne and Walt Disney World. Even though it’s hard for me to visit the latter, it’s still my home. With the migrating aspect of the butterfly, I can’t stay in Melbourne for the entire year... haha Finally, it’s an overall symbol of hope and endurance - that better things are in fact around the corner and to just keep my head up high.
The list could go on forever regarding the meaning of the Monarch Butterfly for me, but these are the key points. I’m also ecstatic with how it’s healing :)
