Galaxies
He had a galaxy asleep behind his eyelids, hidden underneath shaggy long hair.
Fluff/established relationship
It was a long flight. Even you felt it just looking at his messages. Fourteen hours with a one hour layover then another ten hour flight. Too long to be in the air for anyone. Too long trapped in a metal tin with no air flow, the same food and slowly drying skin. They had all piled into the car, eyes glazed and masks covering wide yawns. You squished yourself between the oldest and youngest. Them the lean on your shoulders from the trip back. But when the car stopped everyone woke up. They stumbled inside, dragging heavy suitcases and fumbling for keys.
Everyone, that is, except for him. The car engine idling as you patted his back, rubbed circles between wide shoulders, watch his eyes slowly blink open. The night sky waking up in sparkling irises and lips pressed out in a pout as he groaned.
His hair was getting long. Shaggy over his eyes, stuck up in spikes and messy waves as he rubbed the curl of his fists against small nuggets of sleep. You pulled his hand away, held onto his wrist and unfurled his fist. Slipping your fingers between the gaps of his own and tugging, just enough, towards the open car door.
“Come on, everyone else is inside”
He nodded, shaggy hair bouncing as he made himself crawl across leather seats and pad tired feet onto solid concert. He followed you inside, dragging the handle of his suitcase, watching through lidded eyes at how his oversized backpack shrunk you. Pulling a fond smile across dry lips.
He wasn't quite sure how he had made it inside, he was quite sure just when you had managed to pop his suitcase away in the corner of his closest, when you had found his pajamas and slipped him free of his airport clothes. Making him feel less sticky, less sweaty. Silk replacing that long haul flight feeling from the surface of his skin. He felt the bed dip behind him, felt you brushing knots from his hair, pushing it back and away from his eyes. He felt your hands pulling him down onto cotton sheets, tucking him under warm blankets and lifting a heavy arm to slip comfortably underneath, laying your head against his chest and rubbing circles into the flat of his stomach. Pulling content hums from his lips as he drifted back to sleep. Pulling you closer and mumbling a half formed thank you into the crown of your head.
