Once that was done she came back out to him, a hand on her hips with a bag slung over hed shoulder, “Got it, so where to?”

“We are takin’ a trip out east.” He had his own small bag slung over his shoulder. “Basically, gotta head up to Rush Valley and then to East City.” Neil knew she knew how to get out there, but it was mainly saying it for his own memory. 

He was planning to visit home, for more than one reason.

Lara glanced up from her book (surprising, I know), and set it aside to get to her feet, “Yeah? What’s up, Neil?” She gave him a grin before hearing his request, “Sure, where we goin, chief?”

“Special trip. Go get a bag ready and meet me outside.” He was being very mysterious. A somber smile was on his face as he turned to head out the door.

Now she was talking. “Yeah that would work,” He played it off, but if he had a tail, it would be wagging at full speed. “That sounds great, honestly.”

Lara gave Neil a soft smile before actually taking one of his hands into one of her own, “I meant for your sake, I just don’t want to see you gettin hurt over somethin so trivial.” An eyebrow raised, “Ya get my drift? What you can help me out with, is helpin prep everythin else, how’s that for equivalence?” The Ishvalan let go of his hands and turned to the cutting board to continue what he was working on.

She was right to worry, Neil had his fair share of accidents. New scars riddled his hands from mishaps trying to prepare food, and then a few broken bottles. 

He gave a sharp nod. “I can do that, Lara.” His tone was soft, she had a soft spot in his heart. “What do ya need me to do?”
