The park had many ways of surprising her, usually meeting unexpected company that either was pleasant or sore to her head. In this case, however, once witnessing a particular woman, her breath stood still. The person she had always looked up to yet feared… There was no doubt that it was her, considering how people lacked the qualities of tattooing a one winged eagle across their arm. A gentle approach came, her voice already faltering over the older’s presence.
❝N-Nee-san… Eva-nee san- that’s you, isn’t it?❞ Stopping in mid, she examined her behavior carefully. Something… seemed to bother her. Her usual haughty character that was always displayed without a shame was nowhere to be seen, only a woman who held deep concerns of a matter. Could it be that she was bothered with her surroundings? But that wouldn’t have been the sister she had known for so long.
❝Are you alright?… You seem to be a bit pale.❞
"R-Rosa..?" The older Ushiromiya stuttered and her steps staggered, excitement and joy filling her in until images of the past indulged her and fear drowned her train of thought. Though at first she saw the child she greatly mistreated due to her own pain, now she sees nothing but a woman prepared to kill for wealth's sake and it terrified her. Not because of the realization that they were in fact siblings because of their undeniable greed, but because it was her blood that would stain Rosa's hands if her younger sibling was luckier than her and didn't die first.
Steps aback and her breathing dragged heavier, sweat formed at the side of her forehead. The older began to shake in terror, trying to disprove what her purple eyes were seeing. "Go away..." she managed to whisper in disbelief. "G-Go away! You can't hurt me anymore!" Eva pathetically fell on the ground, but she slowly crawled and got up to her feet and started to run.
Today was another day in which went plainly boring. No excitement to take pleasure from, no thrill to give her that rushing sense of adrenaline inside her veins. What a letdown, but that was what this place was ever since she was stuck in this piece of hellhole. With nothing to solve nor eradicate, hours felt like years whenever time occurred to her. Though once she stopped when she felt a presence nudging her, the witch turned around with initial agitation as a response.
"What is it-" But immediately, she paused, once realizing who it was. Oh, great.
"Huuuh? What’s this? When did you arrive?"
"I was wondering if you could he-" She didn't hear that voice... that horrifyingly familiar one. "-lp meee... with... this... oneee..." She did and the owner's just standing beside her and acknowledging not only her presence but also the connection they have. Eva brings her hands to her mouth and her eyes widened in shock, not knowing if she could trust herself with what she's currently seeing. No, she's probably just imagining it again, like how she imagined many things. Maybe if she did it enough, perhaps George and Hideyoshi would appear like this before her... but she was afraid.
"Why," she asked with the hint of every worry in her body evident. "Why are you here...?"
“It’s perfectly alright; I’m more than happy to listen. In fact, I’m very grateful that you’d do me the favor of being a good friend to me today.”
Listening to other people’s problems might be something horrid to most people; they treat new problems like the plague, like something that people would normally run away from. But Tohya knew that problems had to be shared and solved with the help of another person, or many other people.
”Would you like me to order more tea?”
"Ah, yes p-please! Red would do." What a kind young man. He reminds her of George quite a bit. She raised him to be this dependable and approachable so people would not hesitate to trust him. This young man was probably raised in a well-respected household and were guided by experienced parents or any parental figure for that matter. She likes well-mannered people like him. "It's just... I'm lonely and uncertain of many things but I do not wish to betray my husband and son."
She seemed pale? Riful looked down at her hands. Not that it would do much good. It was likely she was pale in the face. It wasn’t like she could help it. she had tanned a lot more since she got here, but her habits were still mostly nocturnal, so she really didn’t get any sun. The woman was offering her food, but that wasn’t exactly something Riful could eat. “Thank you very much miss. Oh, and thank you for the offer, but I’m good. I didn’t realize I came off as pale. It’s that I do not get out often.”
She didn't happen to offend the girl, did she? The idea left a bitter taste in the mouth. She pulled her hand away and returned the treat back to the small box on her lap, the smile faltered a little but it remained. Quite nocturnal for a young girl, she must be having trouble sleeping at night. "You did today and the sun's a bit kind. It should help you glow a little. If not, water's pretty convenient too and some meat." She could go on like the daunting mother she was but she'd rather not annoy her current company.
❝My apolo—❞ "My apologies"? Was she going to say that? Oh yes, she was going to say “My apologies” for sure but, when she saw she bumped into this familiar woman, she interrupted her own words. Of course she did, it was obvious. The woman she was looking at was Eva Ushiromiya, the person who she wouldn’t like to see anymore. After all, she hated her so much and she was the only one who would kill her family, right? But wait, wasn’t she dead and older? Was this Eva from another fragment? Anyway, the fact that Ange hated her didn’t change at all. She was hateful, someone who deserved only bad things. She didn’t deserve anything good when she was the killer.
❝You— Why are you here?❞ Her voice sounded cold like her expression was. The redhead wasn’t happy to see her aunt again and she knew the hatred was mutual so, why would she smile, then?
"What..." The obvious and sudden shift in attitude, the piercing glare. Eva was certain now and she was sure of this fact more than anything else. She's standing right before her niece of age eighteen; grown, mature but still quite foolish and ignorant. Ange wasn't to blame as she was deprived of the truth and was given a different idea to believe in and she was somehow supposed to simply accept that. The older did nothing but look at the ground and shiver, her very regrets slowly slipping back to haunt her and never give her the freedom she sought.
"I don't know..." she managed to respond after a minute or two of silence and she looked elsewhere, anywhere where she can fool herself to believe that she wasn't in front of Ange but was living off of a lie at another place. There was no way she could look at the person she mistreated. "I... I can go..."

"Watch where you're going." A mild threat, one that belongs to an Ushiromiya no less. Intensity of her tone matching her eyes, beautiful yet frightening. She'd been leading her life around the city peacefully, but teenagers seem to like pestering her and ruining her days. One boy accidentally dirtied her dress with his cheap can of cold coffee the other day and now this woman who totally did not have mahogany strands she could very well remember, who was wearing pair of clothes only one person in her lifetime would wear, who had a band around her arm that only those inside their family owned and had a trademark pink marbles pinning her twin tails decided to make her day a little less tolerable.
It was a little pathetic, not the sight of the younger woman but the fact that Eva didn't even recognize her own niece at first sight.

"I'm too old to start again." Eva admitted in between sour breaths. While acceptance of her loss was already there, she could still not find it in her to betray two people she loved more than anyone in this world. It was a reality she held onto, and no matter the kind of people she meets and the eyes that would gaze into hers, no one looked at her the way Hideyoshi did and no one respected her as much as George did. She loved her men, she loved them too much that she did unforgivable things, but those were the kind of stories you wouldn't tell a stranger. "Ah, am I bothering you? Sorry, I just have a lot in mind lately. Please don't think about it too much."

It wasn't everyday that she cared about others as she was busy with other things. She just happened to be free at the moment that she contemplated about lending her assistance if it was needed. The man was so deep in thought that it started to bother her, leaving her no choice but to approach him and help him if he needed it. Of course chances are, the stranger would refuse and turn her down. Still, she learned that nothing in this place would hurt even if she tried. At least she wouldn't regret not asking ever. Closing in, she took more steps and stopped when she was now standing before the man. Crouching rather naturally, the woman began her query and hoped it wasn't an effort wasted. Still, she'd keep an open mind to the possibility. "It looks like you're in trouble there. Can I help?"

"The way you flirt is shameful." Purple eyes remained fixated on the young man's personage and if stares could kill, hers would be murdering him by now. It was an honest accident, at least she believed so, how his can of cold coffee somehow slipped out of his hand and the contents spilled, affecting her of all people. But Eva was the type of woman who wouldn't tolerate such acts. And she considers them as nothing more than a stupidity on his part. Her stare stayed darted, as if asking what he wouldn't do to be able to undo his mistake. The gesture itself was far from what one would consider flirting. Eva knew her ways with words though, at least on how to mark down insults and have them carved in someone's minds. Despite being logically trapped, her condescending nature did not vanish.

"H-He was unconscious when I f-found him," she would defensively say despite not being tasked to spill up details nor was she being interrogated. There was a man lying on the dusty ground before her. 'I didn't do anything!' she would then again say, but she knew better than to sound more guilty than she already did. Said man was planning to take her bag, and Eva, who trained herself and mastered fine martial arts applied her knowledge and before she knew it, she led the man to his deathbed, or at least something akin to that. The woman resumes her idle thinking, praising herself internally for having her hands gloved, meaning there would be no proof that will point out what she had done. She panicked too much for her own good, eliminating the fact that it was for self-defense.

"Pardon but would you like to have some?" A gentle offer was given. She extended her arm slowly, handling out a few riceballs she prepared for herself earlier this morning in hopes that the girl would accept it. The woman was smiling, but she seemed a little off. A lonely smile so to speak, but a smile nonetheless. No intention to offend yet she dared let her thoughts be known, as she would always have. "You seem a little pale. I'm sorry if you're just usually like this. Anyhow, you're quite gorgeous for a young lady." A truth she noticed.

"When does the approval enlighten the bumpy change?" Fingers motioned to flip the Chinese fan open, the woman was rather deep in thought. Despite her previous uneasiness towards almost everything in complete regards with the city, she finally sought the motivation be rational and accepting of her current circumstances. Realizing she had been quite loud, she tilted her head to the side in short embarrassment. "My apologies, I was mostly speaking to myself."

After staying in the park for some time, Eva retreated from the park bench to venture towards her next destination. She hadn't exactly made a plan on what things to do for today as she would rather find out on her own and also because the city is vast. She would need to find a job soon if she wishes to continue eating properly, no shortage to meddle with her daily living. The woman walked towards what appeared to an agency and since she knew naught of the requirements to enter, she would gesture towards the next person and ask.

It's been a month and she finally reached the decision that her life should go on. There was no point in her wallowing in self-pity for the loss of her family and she's certain it was something that her husband and son would never want to see her go through with. Hesitation lingered in her mind for a moment before she twisted the door knob and left the quarters she had learned to call home. Numerous steps and she found herself in some unnamed park, curiosity slowly pinning her down as she would always imagine George and Hideyoshi accompanying her.
If you care to take a look outside, you'll see that outside your door is a small basket full of chocolate hearts and .... Is that FunDip? Anyways, the card attached to it has the words "Happy Valentine's Day!" On the back it shows a hand drawn picture of you and Maria holding hands.
She had been in the city not too long. While a new life was welcoming at best, it was still quite difficult to adjust herself within the Hive considering the previous experience she was a victim of. There was no family to rely on and not even a single acquaintance to greet. It was simply terrifying, much to her distraught. The woman stayed in her shell and never once thought of going out. On a certain day though, she was informed of an anonymous package and now she's here preparing herself for whatever the contents were. This was just... surprising.
A basketful of sweets that made her shiver in fear. Despite not exposing herself to the city's environment, someone thought of her during this one day. Who would've done such a thing? It's not like she conversed with anyone at all besides the known city pawns. While some of them complimented her appearance and personality, she doubted that one of them would take a romantic interest towards her as she stated time and time again that she's a married woman and a mother... or at least she used to be. The fact was enough to make her cower in terror.
The card though. Perhaps it would tell her! Gloved hand would hurriedly grab the greeting paper and fingers would fumble as she opens it with controlled enthusiasm and oh did her eyes widen at the content. A simple greeting - Happy Valentines Day! - but was enough to make her heart ache in longing. She... she hadn't realize that she was worthy enough for someone to spend a little of their time just to give her this. Eva cringed, tears would then begin streaming down pass cheek to cheek. Where is her husband? Where is her son? Where is her entire family? Why is she alone? Her face would meet the disorganized bed, muffled agonizing sounds echoing across the hallway.
She was too sad and lonely that she forgot to check the back of it.
