Well hello, New Haven.
It took a little extra time to get here, but here I am. Do your worst.

Kurt: You don't know me at all if you think I'm going to talk you out of this one, Finn. You should race over there right now and get things started! Things only fall together when they're supposed to, and maybe this is where you're supposed to be headed.
Kurt: I'm really, really happy for you, Finn.
Finn: No I meant talk me out of being all foot-dragging so good job. Thank you.
Finn: I'm really happy too. Like cautiously happy though.
Kurt: Oh. Well, you're welcome! And don't be cautious about it-- throw caution into the wind! Connecticut, so it'll be blown out into the ocean, and not back my way, I hope.
Finn: You sound like a self-help seminar. I mean I'm mostly basing that on an episode of Dexter I caught a little bit ago but still. Anyway, thanks though. I'm trying.
Kurt:
finnbegins said: We’re good. We have some corporate sponsors as it turns out. Winning a National championship really helps out with that kind of thing.
…Corporate sponsors. Corporate sponsors?! Why couldn’t we have corporate sponsors? Or sponsors of any kind, really. Oh, that is so not fair!
Well I think they wouldn't even look at us seriously 'til we'd won the big one. Plus Mr. Schue's stuff got the attention of one. Plus... I... might've used some charm or something. Apparently I have that. Like, hidden somewhere.
@ Blaine
No furniture? Well…you need a mattress at the very least, unless you’re planning on sleeping on the floor. Food and rent definitely comes first, but you need some furniture, Finn. Eventually. A table at least. A hamper or basket or…somewhere to put dirty clothes.
Well…I’m sure everyone would understand if you couldn’t make it. But yes, it would suck. Nationals is the 26th of May and graduation is the 2nd of June, so it’s exactly a week. You could probably be on a plane to New Haven the very next day.
Well, yeah. My plan has kind of been to just buy things when I get there instead of trying to ship them. I'm hoping if I move at just the right time, I can find yard sales and stuff that are college kids moving out. It won't be anything really fancy, but if I can get a few things like a couch or bed or whatever that way... it'll be good. My mom's sort of insisting on giving me enough money to buy a decent bed. She actually shuddered when I mentioned buying a used mattress of any kind.
I'm not gonna fly there, though. I'm gonna drive so I can take my Jeep. Work isn't that close to my apartment so I need a car. But still, it doesn't matter. I can drive there in a day. I want to make it to graduation, to see you and Brittany at least.
@ Blaine
Yeah. Thank you. I’m basically moving five minutes after Nationals I think.
…Whoa. That soon? But…that’s coming up really quick. Are you going to be ready by then? Does that mean you’re missing graduation?
Yeah. I... don't know. I'll probably ending up moving with no furniture and stuff. I'm never gonna feel like I have enough money so I'll just have to be careful with what I do have.
I... crap. I might be. That would suck. I don't want to miss that. I'll call them and see if I can wait longer to start. It's only what like a week difference?

Finn: So I got the job in New Haven. They called today and I'm kind of in shock. You're the first person I've told. Well. "Told."
Finn: Things are falling together and they never do that for me. I'm waiting for something to go wrong and throw a wrench in and I don't wanna be that guy. Talk me out of it.

That’s sucks. I’m a pro at wrapping those if you need. I’ve had a lot of practice. Then again you probably have too.
It does! I’ve had practice, too, actually. I don’t think we want Santana to bite you or anything, so I’ll handle it myself this time. Thanks for the offer, though. So, what’s up with you, Finn? Anything new?
Yeah, I don't want Santana to bite me. I know I've said that to her before, but I definitely wasn't serious. You're welcome for the offer, though.
I... actually, yeah. I got a job in New Haven. Well, not in New Haven exactly but close by there. I'm gonna move right after Nationals. What about you? What's new besides the bum ankle?

After an in-person interview, a bunch of paperwork, a phone interview, some more phone calls, and a bunch of checking to make sure my social security number isn’t a lie…
I think I have a job in New Haven. This is actually happening. Like…working out and coming together.
Just one more phone call before I find out and they said they’d call this week.
Congratulations, Finn! That’s really, really great. It sounds like you’re just about all set to move in, huh?
Yeah. Thank you. I'm basically moving five minutes after Nationals I think.
Santana-
finnbegins replied to your post: I’m pretty sure that I sprained my ankle :|
Oh man. That hurts. Can you walk or anything or are you laid up?
Walking is difficult, but doable.
That’s sucks. I’m a pro at wrapping those if you need. I’ve had a lot of practice. Then again you probably have too.
Uh, please don’t wrap up my girlfriend. I’ll be super jealous.
Just her ankle, I promise. And only if she wants me to.
I wouldn't want to piss off you or Quinn. I like my balls where they are, thanks.

You’re welcome. I really wish that you guys didn’t have to deal with this stuff. I think situations are even scarier when you have a parent who’s scared. I know that when something bad happens and my mom is upset or worried, it’s like…super serious, and I find it hard to stay brave myself.
No problem! I’m actually kinda sick right now, but I told my mom about wanting to bring you guys something so she’s going to make you some soup. I wasn’t sure what you liked, but she makes really yummy soup, so I promise you won’t be disappointed if you do manage to get her to eat. My sister wants to make cookies, too, so you’ll have those to brighten your day a little bit. They’ll probably drop them off later.
Thanks. Yes, you're exactly right. Me and my mom were a little different, like, when I was a kid. If something bad happened, I saw her cry and saw her get scared and all that but... it's been a while. I forgot how to deal with it.
I'm sorry you're sick. That totally sucks. I can bring you soup if you want some too. That's one of the three things I can make. Like, chicken noodle soup only. You and your mom and your sister are awesome - thank you. I mean it. I really appreciate all that. You guys are really great.
Blaine-
Yeah…I mean, it feels like my family, as much as it would if it were Cooper or one of my parents. Well…I’ll be there as much as I can be, after school until I have to go home. I can imagine how hard that must be, though, seeing her in such a vulnerable position like that. I hope she’s doing okay, though?
Thanks, by the way. It puts me at ease to be there and see him for myself.
Whenever you want. And yeah... I mean she's unclenching a little bit so that's good. She's just... she's stubborn and won't let anyone do anything to help her. She wants to do everything herself. Guess I come by it honestly enough. She's just so... sympathetic in general. Especially about the people she loves. I just want her to take care of herself 'cause she's my mom, y'know?
I think we all understand that feeling.
Just in case you didn't hear from Kurt.
Is it okay if I stop by after school? I told Kurt that I would, and…I mean, I skipped school yesterday to be around for it, but I still feel kind of useless. You can say no—I understand if it would be too overwhelming to have another person in the room.
Totally. You're welcome any time, man. This is your family too, right? I hear you on feeling useless. Well... I kinda just feel like I'm babysitting my mom and it's backwards and awful in some ways.
But no, seriously, come on over. You're one of us, you should be here if you want to be.
Just in case you didn't hear from Kurt.
I’m really glad that his surgery went well, Finn. Even though everything went fine, I bet it’s still a little scary. I’d be scared, anyways. Surgery is just..not a fun thing. Tell Burt I’m happy things went well! If you need anything at all, just let me know. I’m totally cool with bringing you food or a lovable teddy bear or anything you might need.
Thanks Britt. Yeah, it's scary. It's especially scary watching my mom 'cause she's practically the bravest person I know and she was so scared. I don't know if anyone has ever really held my hand that tight, and that's even counting when we were waiting for the results from Nationals last year. And whoever I was holding onto... well let's say my hand went numb for like 15 minutes.
Anyway, thank you. Food is always good. So are teddy bears. If you can make something and not burn your house down, I'll totally take it and try to get my mom to eat some. I can make about three things so I'm out and fast food is really expensive.
