Finn Wolfhard x Reader . Based off of my own DR! . Fem!reader . Set 2019 Stranger Things S3 press tour
You looked ahead at the camera after the producer asked you your first question. You sighed, pretending to remember the first time you met as if you hadn’t relayed the moment over and over again in your head.
“We met at Chemistry reads for season 3. Noah had gotten sick that day so they made me come in even earlier than I had too. I had to get up at 7 just because I had to meet her…”
Finn answered while staring bullets into the side of your head. You looked to your right before feigning offence, placing a dramatic hand on your chest.
“Yeah, I was really close to getting the role too. I remember I couldn’t hear you when you said hello because I had my music probably way too loud.”
He laughed at you. Another question was thrown at you both.
“My first impression of him? Kind of scared, Honestly. I’d been a fan of the show anyway so realising that I would actually maybe work with the actors I had been watching was pretty scary.”
“I was, then I realised that you were just a teenage boy. So…”
He nodded, understanding.
You two moved onto the next “exercise”. The infamous mind meld. You stood across from each other while the producer explained the general premise of the game to you. They counted down for the both of you, reading a word in your head.
You both took a second before laughing together. You looked up at him with a confused look, he was still grinning.
“I was looking over there!”
You both spoke between giggles. After standing up straight and looking each other in the eyes, ready for the next round.
You nodded at each other, giving a look. You where getting closer and you could feel it.
“Ok…I can see your thought process..”
“Right! Third times the charm. Ready?”
You nodded at him. He held out both his hands for you to take. You did, a buzz going through your body as you did. You took a deep breath, looking up at him again.
You both gasped, squeezing each other’s hands.
You asked him, voice strained. Finn nodded, grinning. You both cheered, high-fiving and laughing.
Again, you both moved onto the next exercise. “Compliments”. You were both handed a notepad and pen to write your compliments down on.
You said it quietly, under your breath. Finn still picked up on it, looking over at you with joking offence.
“Nothing. Didn’t say anything.”
You pre tended to be very busy scribbling words on your own notepad, trying to struggle down the smile on your lips while he stared at you, trying to make you crack.
2 minutes passed and you had both finished. You held the pad to your chest while he finished up. He looked up at you and gestured for you to go first.
“I think, that you have really nice hair.”
He smiled, making an ‘aww’ sound before looking down at his own notepad. You felt more nervous, like anything he had to say now was his permanent impression of you.
“Lexi, you have a really nice singing voice.”
“Yeah, I’m not just saying it for fun?”
You looked down at your notes, scanning through the various sentences you had come up with.
“Ok, Finn. You are amazing at playing guitar. It’s also really cool watching you play.”
“Thank you! Y/n, you are the best listener on the cast. I can always talk to you about literally anything.”
Again you smiled, your cheeks heating. It wasn’t anything special, he’d given you passing compliments plenty of times before. Then again you had the same reaction every time, although this time it was all on camera.
“You have awesome music taste, Finn.”
He looked down at his notes and smiled. It was a knowing smile. You looked weary.
“You, have a really pretty smile.”
You gasped. It was the same compliment he had given you the first time you met. You laughed at him while he stood there with that stupid grin. You tried to hide the growing intense heat in your cheeks. It’s the same thing that happened when he said it almost over a year ago.
“Well to be fair the last time said it to you I had to leave so I didn’t get to see your reaction.”
The producers placed a fish bowl full of paper cutouts in front of the two of you. “Fishbowl of memories.” You reached in to take one yourself.
“First one is…favourite memory on set together?”
He looked up at the ceiling, thinking. You waited before he looked back down at you.
“I have one. The first time you had to yell at me in a scene and you felt bad so we had to keep retaking it until you didn’t laugh mid shot.”
“Oh my gosh, I forgot about that! How is that your favourite?”
“It was funny! Yes it took forever but it was still hilarious. What’s your memory?”
You folded the paper in your hand again, looking down at it.
“My favourites are when Mike and Kim actually had to like…sit down and talk to each other. They weren’t really funny but it was a nice change of pace from the constant fighting of them both.”
“Oh, that’s a good one actually.”
He now reached into the bowl and pulled out a different colour. You waited for him to read it out.
“Most emotional day together? I have no idea.”
You laughed. Thinking back on all the days you had spent filming together.
“I mean, there are days where we have to cry a bunch for scenes, but there are never days when we’re genuinely sad.”
“Yeah, it’s kind of hard to be sad when we’re together.”
You agreed before pulling out another piece of paper.
“Favourite moment off set? I mean, we hang out so much I don’t think I really have a favourite?”
“I remember this one day when a little girl recognised you from your music and you turned to me and was so confused as to why a 7 year old was listening to your music.”
You tried to remember. Then you saw a little girl in your head, tapping your arm while you scanned through different brands of chips in a grocery store. You remembered being so confused and thinking she thought you were someone else.
“Oh my gosh, right! And that was one of the first times I got recognised too…”
You both laughed. The producers told you that they had run out of time and that you now had to move onto the next few interviews, your managers waited impatiently.
“I think, that we’re closer because he helped me remember more memories.”
You looked ahead at the camera smiling, waiting for his answer.
“I don’t think we needed this interview, but I think we have added levels of connection now.”
“Honestly yeah. We’re close enough actually.”
