"Sylus! C'mon, let's get going!" You said with excitement, your hand grabbing onto his much bigger one. "Let's go! We don't have all day!"
Pulling on the older mans hand, he wasn't making it exactly easy for you to pull him up from his chair. Leaning back, he made himself dead weight. Sure, you were a strong and experienced hunter, but your strength may as well have been compared to a weakly child's strength when it came to this 6'2, muscular, beefy man. His strength could be on par to that of a dragon. Atleast thats what it felt like. He was incredibly strong and could easily overpower anyone without using his evol.
" Ha💸ha💸ha💸ha💸, come on now, kitten. You've got to be much stronger than that if you want to pull me up" He soothly spoke, a rich laugh leaving from the back of his throat. You tried with all your strength, but in the end, you tripped over yourself and fell back. Before you could hit the ground, Sylus's evol stopped your fall. "Careful kitten. We wouldn't want you getting hurt now, would we?''
Stretching out his hand, Sylus took hold of yours, pulling you up with ease. Bringing you close, he smiled down at you with that dumb little smirk he always had on his face. "Hmph. Maybe someone shouldn't pretend to be deadweight then, ever thought of that?" You'd say with a small pout. Leaning down, Sylus pecked your forehead with a sweet and gentle kiss while holding your head. Raising a hand, he brushed a piece of hair from your face, that eager look you had, warming his heart. "Alright kitten, let's get going then. Someone's pretty eager today hm? "
Moving past him to grab your wallet, you swiftly stuffed it into your coat pocket before turning on your heel, and grabbing his arm. Pulling him to the door, you huffed once more. "Did you forget what day it is?? Of course I'm eager! Today's your birthday love! How can I not be excited!"
Making quick work to grab your boyfriends car keys, you settled into the drivers seat of his car, starting the engine. With the low rumble under you, you made sure both you and Sylus was buckled in before taking of.
"You want to take any guesses on where we're going? " Tapping his head with his finger, he sat in silence for a moment as he thought of different locations you'd likely take him. "Hmm.. Is it.. The Café? "
" Well.. If you wanted something from there, we can make a quick stop. but no, not the café. "
"Is it the karaoke place? "
" No, No. Now you have one more guess or else im letting you wait"
"Alright then. Let's see...one other place you love to go is.. Huh. Is it the mall? "
"Ding, ding ding! we have a winner! But hold on a second mister. We're not going simply because I like it. I wanted to spoil you is all. It's your special day and I wanted to take you out for a bit. so anything you buy is on me. buut, I did also need to get us some more skincare stuff" You said smiling a cheeky little smile.
Gaining a chuckle from the grey haired man, he looked at you while leaning against the car door. "Have I told you how cute you are kitten? especially when you're excited about something. It's one of my favorite sights to see.. Also it's alright. No need to stop at the café. "
A light blush crept up your face, shaking your head. "Shouldn't I be the one making you flustered and happy today? Shush, shush. Put on some music to listen to"
"Alright miss bossypants, will do. "
Tuning the radio to a working station, Sylus sat back into the seat, laying his head against the headrest. Watching the scenery pass by, the mans hand reached across the center console, looking for yours. Finding it, he sat content in the car, lightly rubbing his thumb against yours. It was a small thing, but even just being here next to you, holding your hand was the most important thing to him. It meant everything. Just feeling your touch made him smile.
'Maybe it's time I finally propose... Yeah. I think l'll do it today. Shes's dressed all pretty and is in a good mood. It's a risk but.. I don't think she'll refuse. But if she said yes that would make today the best day ever.' In his thoughts, he mindlessly placed small kisses to your hand, rubbing it against his cheek. 'Her hands are so soft. I think its time to decorate her fingers with some pretty jewlery tonight..'
Eyes looking back up to the road from looking down, he noticed that you were turning into the parking lot of the mall, jamming out to the music played on the radio. He smiled as he listened to your singing, admiring how adorable you looked. "Enjoying yourself are we? It's like you're on center stage at a concert" He teased. "Oh but don't you enjoy it? You get a free show and get to listen to my beautiful voice" putting the car into park, you looked over at him and batted your eyes.
"Sylus, would you buy vip tickets if I was a rockstar?"
"Of course sweetie. I'd buy out every seat and make sure no one could hear your beautiful voice. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to let everyone hear your gorgeous voice, so I think I'll keep you to myself for a bit longer. "
"You're so sweet." You giggled. " But how would I get fans if you bought all the seats?"
"Well that's what Luke, Kieran, and Mephisto are for. I'm sure they'll be your highest paying fans. Aside from me of course. "
"Of course, of course, how could I forget about them. Now, stay there. Don't move."
Sylus was confused, but did as you said anyways and just stayed put. Though, seeing you run around the front of the car just to open his door made him fall further inlove with you. Little stupid things you did like that were funny and adorable. It was cute when you did things like that. It definitely was his source of entertainment that he'd never get tired of seeing.
Walking around the mall, the two of you made a few stops around to some favorited shops of yours, including stopping by some food stalls for snacks like dragons' breath. Walking into Hot Topic with your cup of dragon's breath and boba that Sylus held onto for you, you wandered around the store. You had one thing in mind and that was to look for matching Hello Kitty pajamas. You were quick to find them, analyzing the bunch to choose which to buy. The decision was hard, so you went to find Sylus. He was pretty good on helping you decide when decisions were hard and you trusted his judgement. Finding him near the accessories, you brought up the outfits to show him. "Which one do you want? "
Looking at the choices momentarily, the older man said, "All. Let's get them all. "
Cocking your head to the side, you glanced from him, to the clothes, then back at him. "Are you sure? "
"Yes sweetie, I'm sure. Is there anything else you wanted to get while we're here?"
"uuuuhm, im not sure, but let me look around a bit more"
As you were about to leave, your eyes caught something that was hanging up. Walking closer to the item, her hand resched out to touch it. "Hmm.. Alright let's go. These are the only other things I want. "
Grabbing the light pink dragon horns. All while the woman was stopped by the horns, Sylus had secretly took out his card. Walking up to you, he wrapped an arm around your waist and guided you to the checkout line, listening to the beeping of the machine, responding to the cashier as usual questions and chit chat was spoken.
While your hands reached for your wallet, Sylus leaned down, tilting your head up and kissing you, simultaneously slipping his black card to the cashier. You didn't notice his ploy, as you had just thought it was a normal kiss that he wanted. It wasn't until you looked back to the cashier to hand her your card that you saw Sylus putting his own card back into his wallet. "H-Hey, wait a second. Sylus you didn't. "
"Yes, I did sweetheart, and I'll do it again. "
"Honey, I told you it was my turn to spoil you. Let me spoil you for your birthday"
Taking hold of his arm, you shook him back and forth before laying your head, defeated, on his bicep. "Oh but sweetheart, as much as I enjoy you wanting to pay for me, I'd rather you not have to worry about any financial bills. My love shouldn't need to deal with something like that. All you need to do is sit there and look pretty for me. Don't even think about lifting a finger. Let me take care of you. I can promise you that taking care of you gives me infinite amounts of happiness. "
"Mmh, when you put it that way.. jesus, i can never say no to you. Fine Fine, spend your money, but I one hundred percent will be spending my own money on you regardless. "
"We'll see about that. I'll just have switch your card out for mine and you won't a choice but to use it. "
Sitting on the benches outside of the store, you gave sylus your cup or cereal so you could get the horns out of its packaging. Once succeeding, you clipped them into Sylus's hair. There was no complaint or anything from his side but the dragon horns had made him remember some.. bittersweet times in his life. He was just glad he could here with you again. He had missed having you around.
While internally reminiscing and admiring you, you were busy admiring how cute he looked and giggling over his appearance. "You look so cute! I think the horns being pink were a great addition to the whole horns thing. They look so good on you." Analyzing him a few moments longer, you squinted your eyes, your expression turning a bit more focused.
"you know..." you started. " You kinda look like how I'd imagine a dragon would look like if they took human form. Your eyes really look dragon like. I think it's cute. I like it. You'd make a really cute little dragon'' Moving closer, your hands pinched his cheeks. Laughing, Sylus shook his head, his hand holding your wrist lightly.
"Do you really think so? What if I were to be a big scary dragon who hurt people?"
"Well, you already are a big scary leader who kills people and look where we are? all youre missing is the dragon part. So yes. I really think so. I would still want to be with you even if you were a big, mean, scary dragon. Tell me something. If you saw and knew that I was some sort of monster, would you still want to be with me? Would you still love me? "
"heh💳heh💸heh💰heh💵, I see what you did there. I would love you no matter what. No matter what form you take. No matter where you are. No matter how you look. You'll always be mine and I'll always find my way back to you. After all, I can't be away from you for long"
With the both of you content and happy with eachothers answers, you had opened your phone to take some pictures of the two of you. A few photos were successfully taken, but the photoshoot had to be cut short due to you realizing the time. You ushered Sylus out to the car and set everything in the back before you sat in the drivers seat. Sending a text off, you sat the phone down and began to drive, chatting with sylus.
The scenery slowly changed from the bustling city, to the outskirks of it ,until hills, trees, and fields of flowers came into view. Driving up a hill and to a pretty scenic area, you parked the car and shut off the engine. reaching into the center console, you had pulled out a silky black blindfold. "Okay, here. Put this on and don't take it off until i tell you got it? "
Agreeing, Sylus put on the blindfold. Getting out with your help and being guided to somewhere, he began to question you. " What's this all about? Since when did you have a surprise for me?"
"Since.. uhh, well, Last month? "
"Last month? You really planned that far ahead? I'm surprised. you really wanted to go all out, didn't you? "
"Of course I did. I wanted today to be special for you. Now stay right here. Give me a moment''
Slipping away, you waved to Luke and Kieran who were finishing up the little picnic you prepared for. Walking iver to where they stood, you began whispering to the two. "Thank you guys so much for this. It means the world to me."
"Yeah, of course! " Kieran said nodding his head.
"We can't wait! We've been so excited, its been a torturous wait." Luke said "He'll love it, I promise"
"I know, tell me about it. It's so nervewracking but.. I think I can do it. I've prepared myself all I could so I hope things go the way I want it to. Okay, I should get back now, but make sure you stay hidden, and make sure to record please. Remember the signal I told you for when I want you to start recording?"
Seeing them both nod, you nodded back. "Alright. Thank you guys''
Going back to Sylus, you fixed a few things on the table. Lighting a match, you lit two candles that read '29' on the cake you baked early that morning.
Holding the cake infront of you, a nervous pit began growing in your stomach. Your nerves definitely weren't calm but you did your best to neutralize them.
"Okay, You can look now"
At the sight of the cake and the setup you had going on, His expression turned from confused to soft and loving. "Kitten.." He trailed off, looking around at the flower field surrounding them and the picnic blanket in the grass with food and drinks they favored sprawled about the soft fabric. "You did this for me?"
Nodding, you smiled. "Like I said, I really wanted to give you a special day. I know you never really celebrated your birthday before, so I wanted to give you a small surprise and make you a cake. "
Coming closer, Sylus blew out the candles. "I appreciate you more than you know. This means alot to me. Thank you Sweetie. You really have made my day with this."
For the next hour, Sylus and you had ate together, sharing laughs and thoroughly enjoying yourselves. It was almost enough to dissolve the anxiety that ran through her body.. almost.
Twisting the ends of the stems of flowers, you finished making a flower crown. Leaning over, you placed it ontop of Sylus's head of hair, his new pink horns still adorning his head. " And done. Now you have a freshly made flower crown, handcrafted from moi"
"Thank you kitten. It's quite a lovely addition to my wardrobe. "
Sitting up from his position on the ground, Sylus held you close, playing with loose strands of your hair. The two of you sat in comfortable silence until you discretely gave the signal to the twins.
"So.. Sylus.." Taking a deep breath, you ran your thumbs against his fingers.
"Yes?"
" I've been thinking for awhile about this and I think it's about time. I love you with my everything, and I can't imagine living without you. I felt so empty until I met you. With you, I just feel so happy. I feel so full of love. I feel like I need you every waking second. I want to be with you forever. I want to make everyday special for you and be there as much as I can... So..Sylus.." Shifting from his lap, you moved down onto the blanket, shifting to kneel on one knee while pulling out a box from your pocket. facing it to him opened.
"Will you marry me?"
Sylus's heart stopped for a moment. what did you just say? Did. Did you just propose to Sylus? No way. That was unbelievable. The mans eyes were wide with shock. You, the ring, the speech you gave. His head was reeling. Soaking it in, his face grew flustered. A large hand came up to his face, covering part of it. "Kitten.. You're really full of surprises, aren't you?"
Sylus moved himself to match your kneeling position, removing a box of his own and holding it out and opened. "I cant believe you beat me to it. I was planning on proposing to you tonight too"
Laughs began to erupt from the two of you, quickly following by Kieran and Lukes loud laughter. Looking towards the twins, you called out, "Hey! make sure you keep recording you two. "
Turning back to sylus, you held his face in your hands, coming down from your laughing fit. "Yes, I want to marry you. I want you and only you by my side for the rest of my life." Sylus said, looking into your bright eyes, the sunset glowing shades of red, orange and yellow.
"I'm so glad you do. And yes. Yes, god yes i want to marry you. I wouldnt want anybody else." Looking into his eyes briefly, you both moved to place the rings on eachother with shaky hands. Well, moreso your shaky hands. Sharing a kiss with one another, you broke away, holding his face with him holding your head. "I love you so much Sylus. Happy birthday my sweet baby boy "
"I love you so much too kitten.. So, would you prefer my fiancé or my wife?"
