My Introduction Post

My name's Quin, welcome to the corner of the internet where I've decided to start posting my art. I've been on tumblr, using various accounts, since around 2011. But this is my first blog specifically for promoting and sharing my art.

Up till now I haven't felt confident enough in my work to post it. I'm very proud of how far I've come and I'm excited to have a place just for my art. I'm planning on opening an etsy shop soon as well, because being able to make money off my art has always been a dream of mine.

I'm always learning and I hope you'll enjoy watching how my art evolves as I improve. Not to mention how I tend to hop around between mediums and styles like a crazy person. I can only reign my ADHD in so much lol. Besides, learning how to use different mediums is fun and if I try to force myself to stick to one thing for too long, I lose interest in making art entirely.

My favorite color's green

I'm in my twenties

I have ADHD and suspect Autism as well

Reading fantasy books and going on hikes are my main hobbies outside of drawing

Gender means very little to me

I often feel like an alien fairy thing trapped in a human body

"The Sun Beast"

I used the view of our neighbor's house out the window as my reference for this. Minus the big sun beast of course.

I love looking at ordinary things out and about in the real world and adding fantastical elements to them in my mind so the idea for this came very naturally.

My art's all over the place right now, I swear. It's kind of ridiculous because this is such a big 180 from that eye crying blood that I made a few days ago. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But anyways, I doodle this on my work sticky note doodles all the time so I thought it was about time that I do a little bit more with it. I'm really happy with how it came out :3

I've got an idea percolating in my head. I really want to do a series of t-shirts about keystone animals of north america. With like, illustrations of the animals on the front of the shirt with their name, and why they're so important on the back.

I think it could be fun, I just don't know when I'll be able to get to it or if I'll be able to muster up the executive functioning powers to work on it at all to begin with.

I'm gonna try to keep it in the idea bank though, if nothing else.

Here's that sketch dump that I said I'd post a little while ago. I've really been enjoying this little pocket sized notebook. It's been a lot of fun drawing in it.

The last artwork here is from a completely different notebook and while I would count it as a finished peice, I don't think it's good enough for it's own post. It's the first finished artwork I've done outside of my tablet in a long time. (hence why it doesn't look that great)

Just generally I haven't been enjoying making art with my tablet that much recently. So you'll probably be seeing more sketch dumps and physical media art from me for a bit.

(Or I could suddenly get the inspiration to finish one of the half done art works that I have sitting in procreate and have a new digital painting up by tuesday :P)

I've gotten a cute little pocket sized notebook and I've really been enjoying drawing in it. To the point where I've been drawing way more than I normally do. I'm really happy about it. I'll have to share some of my sketches on here at some point.
