Syd was happy to be back in L.A, being with her family and friends was important to her but getting to make music and spend time with her best girl was even better. She was still trying to get used to the mild celebrity she garnered for herself and was doing her best to still live a lowkey life even if people wanted to remind her all the time she was special. Syd was coming back with bagels and could hear the music coming out of her apartment, a smile painted her face as she entered and her eyes locked on Sarah. “I guess I gotta work on my ninja skills,” she teased. She moved closer to the girl and kissed the top of her head. “Enjoying the new sound?”

“With the way you’re starting to get noticed, I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all for us both to get much sneakier.” She teased softly, leaning into the kiss against her head, letting out a sigh of contentment. At the question, she tilted her head up so that she could look at the other, shaking her head. “There’s a different between enjoying and investing in. And I am definitely invested in the new sound. It’s so easy to get lost in.”

There was something special about getting lost in a song and letting it move you. Music had always been such an integral part of her life and that love of a melody was something that she continue to try to hold on to as much as she possibly could. She truly didn’t know how long she had been lost in the music, but she was brought out of it by the sound of someone walking into the room. Her eyes blinked open and they shot over towards the door, her lips quirking. “Not so sneaky are you?”

Being sober was still weird for Ellery. She’d taken up to jogging and spending hours at the gym instead, needing to keep her body busy and mind away from alcohol. Some days were easier than others. That day was a harder day - and the only solution to that was Finley. Smiling adoringly at her, Ellery pecked her lips. “I’m alright, yeah. Not interrupting your mojo, am I?”

She smiled at the peck to her lips and again at her words, shaking her head. “Even if you were interrupting my mojo, I really wouldn’t tell you now would I?” Finley teased softly before bringing their lips back together once again. “I can be done now if you just give me a few minutes to clean everything up.” The blonde offered.

Finley stood in the art studio that she had, chewing on her bottom lip as she moved about creating another piece of art. She knew that she wasn’t the most talented person in the world, but she appreciated the ability that she had and she was looking forward to the chance to make art for the rest of her life. Hearing the door open, Fin looked up from what she was doing and shot a grin in Ellery’s direction when she saw her standing there. “Oh, hey there, beautiful.” The blonde stated, wiping her hands off before moving over to slip her arms around the darker-haired girl’s waist. “How are you doing?”

Sarah came up to the door and knocked lightly, rocking back and forth as she was waiting for Kris to answer their door. She was ready to just hang out and relax with one of her favorite people in the entire world. Honestly, Sarah and Kris from the outside seemed like the least likely people to enjoy one another’s company. However, perhaps the ‘opposites attract’ rule was true; because Sarah adored Kris and could not imagine her life without them. “Kriiiiis. Come ooon!” She called out, trying the door and finding it locked as she had expected with a slight huff. When she told the other that she was coming over, she definitely hadn’t expected to be locked out. She leaned against the wall as she waited for Kris to answer the door, a smirk on her face, already ready to bug them about their lack of time-management.

Prestyn flopped onto the couch of the apartment that she shared with the woman that she loved, chuckling softly as Garland moved to hop onto the couch at her feet. “Hey there, buddy. You have a rough day too?” She questioned softly, furrowing her eyebrows and rubbing her foot along the dog’s back. “Was Arwen giving you heck all day?” She teased quietly before looking around for the other animal in question, catching sight of a swishing tail that was coming from behind the curtains. “Hey there, girl.” She called out, before she let her head drop back against the couch once more, letting her eyes fall shut as she rested on the couch with Garland. “We’ll take you for your walk soon, Garland...just gonna...relax a bit.” She said with a yawn, curling up and slowly drifting to sleep.

He usually rolled out of bed earlier than she did, his biological clock not caring about his late nights at work or the hours he spent in dimmed lighting of their living room, making sure that all things were in place, still refusing to hire more men on his team as the money didn’t seem to add up correctly in the end.The morning coffee was definitely a highlight of his morning, of course second in place compared to the messy-haired beauty he had laying in bed next to him in the small double bed.

“Mornin’,” he muttered quietly as he leaned down to press his lips against her temple, smiling at the stirring as he moved to sit down on her side of the bed, making sure to not sit on any small limbs that could be staggering around under the covers. “I got some coffee —- c’mon, get up before I drink both,” he teased with a smirk on his lips, taking a sip of his own black coffee.

Sarah grumbled softly when Everett’s lips pressed against her temple. The smell of coffee and Everett’s warm voice were tempting, but so was the bed she was currently wrapped up in. The last thing she wanted to do was get out of bed, even if she wanted to make the most of the time that she had with Everett. Her boyfriend was a busy man, a hard-working man. And while she loved that about him, she also worried that he wasn’t taking care of himself in the way that he should.

With the threat of Everett drinking her coffee as well, she blinked her eyes open and glared at him. “Please, like you’d drink my coffee. There’s too much milk and sugar in it for you.” She retorted before stretching out and then rubbing her face slightly. She pushed herself up in a seated position, the blankets falling down to rest against her waist as she reached for the coffee. “Thank you, handsome.”

Pressing her lips together, Juliet leaned back in her seat as she waited patiently for the other to wake from their slumber. Her fingers were picking at the top of her coffee cup that was still steaming from the hot water that was infusing the tea bag that was floating around the top, her eyes bloodshot and her hair slicked back into a ponytail as she couldn’t be bothered to shower or comb it for the past twenty four hours, everything flying out the window the moment that she found out about her best friends situation, the beeping of machines taking over her hearing to the point where she almost missed the blinking of the other laying in the bed.

“Oh—-,” Juliet finally muttered before forcing a small smile on her lips. “Hey —- hey, don’t move too much. You hit your head pretty hard,” she said quickly as she got up from her seat and looked down at Lennox, pressing her lips together.

A soft groan fell from Lennox’s lips as they tried to push themselves around. Where the hell were they? What the hell had happened? Hearing Juliet’s voice, they glanced over, relaxing a bit. If Juliet was there well at least they knew that they were safe. Lennox opened their mouth to speak but found that their mouth was super dry and they furrowed their eyebrows slightly. “W-ater?” They croaked, looking around the hospital room with a confused expression. They really couldn’t remember what had happened. They’d been hanging out with their cousin, they knew that for sure, but after that they had no clue. What the hell had they done that had landed them in the hospital? “Pr-princess, you okay?” Lennox questioned, eyes looking over their best friend.

Glancing away curiously when she heard Cadence’s name, Kirby freely stepped back to allow who she assumed to be Cadence’s classmates swamp her, grinning slowly at the sight. For a moment, she considered stepping away to give them some privacy but they ultimately ended up running off before she could follow through with it. “Hey, it’s okay. Listen, how about I let you enjoy yourself? You’ve got all the time in the world to enjoy being with me. You should go celebrate. Then you can come back to my place and we can spend some quality time together.”

She frowned slightly when Kirby said that she wanted to let her go, chewing her bottom lip and furrowing her eyebrows slightly. She didn’t want Kirby to leave. Almost afraid that things would change in that time. Things had been wishy washy between them and now that they had both said what they wanted, Cadence was hesitant to just let her go. “I...you’re sure I can come over after?” She questioned, glancing back at the girl.

“I won’t even touch you at all,” Delia promised with a cheeky grin after she got up, still casting a quick glance down Carlin’s torso (she really did love seeing her in button-ups) before moving around the couch and heading to her room. Briefly, she gathered up the clothes on her bed and threw them in the hamper in her room, grabbed her guitar and stuck it in its corner, then launched herself onto one side of the bed.

She chuckled softly, shaking her head in amusement. “You know...I think that might be pushing it a little bit. But I appreciate your dedication.” She watched Delia move around her room, happy to just be there with her. “Ya know..you should play for me soon.” Carlin stated, hopping onto the bed as well, reaching over to rest her hand against Delia’s stomach, playing with her shirt.

Delia’s smile grew a bit at that. Feeling threatened by her sisters wasn’t something she actually felt, but it was still nice to hear all the same. “Showers and bath are totally different experiences,” she pointed out playfully. “Alright. Personally, I’d like it better if you were in kissing distance but I guess beggars can’t be choosers.”Let me know if you wanna move this party to the bed or anything, okay?”

Hearing Delia mention that it would be better if they could kiss, she let out a soft laugh. She could disagree with that point. It was a very strong point when she thought about it. “I definitely want to move the party to the bed. Just don’t think about taking advantage of me.” Carlin teased, slipping out from under the girl’s legs and standing up, stretching slightly before she winked at the other girl.

Kirby let a much briefer smile cross her face at that, grateful for the distracting kiss. If she had been in Cadence’s shoes, she doubted she’d be able to trust her. She didn’t even think she’d be able to handle things as well as Cadence had been handling it. Cupping the back of Cadence’s neck, Kirby decided it was best to focus on her instead of her own bout of self deprecation. “The girl of your dreams, huh?” She echoed teasingly. “I think if I was maybe a little taller and not scared of spiders, then I’d be the girl of your dreams.”

“Not even, babe.” She said, shaking her head with a soft laugh. “You’re the perfect size, because you’re so easy to pick up.” Cadence said with a playful wink, resting their foreheads together. She was so in love with this girl and it took her by surprise more often than not. “Maybe if you weren’t scared of spiders...but that just gives me something to do and makes you keep me around. So I’ll take it.” She teased softly,, squeezing her waist gently. Hearing someone call her name, she turned back to see a couple of her former classmates running up to her. She let go of Kirby for the moment to wrap each of them in a hug, chatting with them for a few moments before they ran off to their families. She turned back to Kirby and slipped her arms around her. “Sorry about that.”

“Mistakes, yeah. But you know what I mean,” Kirby insisted, bumping up against Cadence. “I’m not gonna fuck this up again. I’m not gonna disappoint you again,” she added, going through every possible way to say I’m not gonna fuck anyone else without saying as much. “This is probably the worst place you could’ve done this because this is supposed to be something you enjoy to the fullest and here I am, already wanting to steal you away for myself.”

“I get it, baby. I understand. I trust you.” Cadence laughed softly and brought their lips together once more before pulling away with a shrug. “I would say I’m sorry, but I’m not. I didn’t...I didn’t want to wait any longer to make you mine, Kirby Steel.” The redhead stated, nudging their noses together lightly as she smiled. “I think this is the perfect way to enjoy this day. I graduate and get to call the girl of my dreams my own. Seems pretty perfect.”

Tipping her head back, Delia closed her eyes and focused on how good it felt to have Carlin massaging her legs. “Mhm, ‘cause those strangers probably won’t see you again in a city this big,” she decided, resting one arm over her stomach and slipped the other one behind her head. She realized that considering Carlin had a long day at work, their positions should probably be reversed but she wasn’t going to pass this up. “I can run you a bath, if you want. It’s relaxing for me, I don’t know if it’s the same for you. I just took one.”

“Mmm, good point. Good point. You’re the only Steel for me though, babe. No one comes even close to you. Plus, they wouldn’t want me anyway.” She joked, shaking her head slightly at herself. Had to poke fun at things sometimes. She tipped her head to glance over at the other woman and shook her head. “I took a shower before I got here, I’m okay, babe. I like...just getting to sit here with you. Pretty relaxing. Thank you though.” Carlin replied, squeezing Delia’s leg as a way to show her thanks.

Kirby’s eyes closed, taking in the close proximity that she had needed so badly. “Mine,” she breathed out, trying to wrap her head around it. Did she deserve her? No, not really, but she couldn’t say as much before Cadence kissed her and any thought that wasn’t Cadence is kissing me disappeared. Her arms tightened a bit around her best friend’s neck, wanting to keep her as close as possible. Conscious of where they were though, she broke the kiss much sooner than she wanted to. “I won’t let you down again,” she promised softly, figuring that was the better way to go than telling Cadence she didn’t deserve her. “Ever. I won’t ever let you down again.”

“Yours.” She repeated, her smile soft and full of affection. She almost whined, scratch that, she did whine as Kirby’s lips moved away from her own; even if she understood that where they were in the moment wasn’t the best place to just make out. She hadn’t been able to kiss her in so long as she really just didn’t want to stop. At Kirby’s words, Cadence rubbed her hand lightly up and down her back, biting down on her bottom lip. “I think...we’re both going to make mistakes, Kirb. But I want...I want to work through all of the mistakes with you.”

Delia smiled to herself, keeping her eyes down on her food while she finished what was in her mouth. She figured it was meant more of a joke but the fact that the idea of them even being together when they were fifty struck something in her that was hard to ignore. “I don’t know about that. When I’m fifty, I’ll probably still be making up excuses why we can’t go on double dates.” She finished off her sandwich then laid back, stretching out along the couch without taking her legs off of Carlin’s lap. “I’m not sure if I want my sister seeing how hot you look all dressed up for a date anyway.”

Carlin grinned slightly when Delia mentioned still making up excuses when they were fifty. “Of course. Can’t expect you to change that much in thirty years right?” She teased, finishing off her sandwich and then resting her now free hand on Delia’s legs as well. She rubbed her hands up and down her legs, massaging them lightly, licking her bottom lip. “Mmm, only a bunch of strangers can see how hot I am when I dress up for a date with you?” Delia was probably the first person that Carlin had ever put any effort in for. Before her, it was all just sex and no feelings. It was part of the reason that she had run away from what was growing between them before.
