First Albums

How many bands have great first albums that have been forgotten or aren't well known? How many have giant back catalogues that when we discover them its so overwhelming as to the amount of material there is we just go for the latest release? To me a bands first album is an important milestone in the making of their history. We all know that band that’s changed their sound at some stage of their career as they continue down their musical paths for whatever reason. Money, Fame… Drugs. These things tend to have an effect on a bands evolution and often their newest offering is drastically different to their humble beginnings. However this isn't a blog about dissing bands for changing or selling out. It’s a blog about celebrating and educating. In some cases educating myself. Not everything I want to post is going to fall into this "changed along the way trend" and not everything I post will necessarily be something I'm too familiar with, but I will be listening to these albums as I go and that's ultimately why I'm doing this.
